Building Simulations
Prepare building simulations through the use of professional software tools, such as:
Preliminary and detailed building energy models (DesignBuilder, IES-VE)
Computational fluid dynamics simulations (DesignBuilder, Ansys) to assess indoor operating conditions for occupant health, safety, and comfort and process conditions;
Data analytics in support of several types of technical studies.
Technical Studies
Building envelope and MEP systems evaluation for greenfield and brownfield projects with specific building performance and construction budget goals
Energy audit services requiring performance impact estimates of proposed energy efficiency measures in existing buildings
Monitoring-based commissioning services requiring data visualization to spot faulty operations in HVAC operational trends
Low carbon consultancy services combining operational and embodied carbon footprint evaluation, and associated environmental impact-lowering measures
Project Reports and Communication
Review plans, documentation, and contractor submittals for compliance with requirements
Complete construction field visits to review progress, verify compliance with goals, and solve field issues
Perform on-site energy audits for existing facilities
Identify, present and discuss performance improvement options meetings with clients
Prepare logically organized, technically accurate, and clearly presented emails, memos and reports
Learn best-practice fundamentals and implementation strategies for high-performance building enclosures, mechanical and plumbing systems, zero energy features, low-carbon materials, etc.
Grow into a project management role, acting as the main point of contact for clients, tracking schedules and deliverables, producing or delegating as needed to get the work done, and integrating a diverse array of knowledge to provide insightful information to clients.
Requirements
Academic Background and Professional Experience
Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) / Master of Science (M.S.) or equivalent education in Mechanical, Electrical, or related majors
4-5 years of energy efficiency or related mechanical engineering professional experience (previous building simulation, energy auditing, commissioning and industrial facilities experience preferred)
Skills
Solid knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems and principles; including HVAC, lighting, motors, fluids, heat transfer, and heat recovery (pinch method)
Hands-on experience with mechanical, electrical, and control systems
Experience with ASHRAE energy audits
Knowledge of energy management practices, familiarity with ISO 50001 standard
Understanding of green building certification schemes (e.g. LEED, BREEAM, Green Mark, GBI, etc.) is appreciated
Abilities
Technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and integrate new concepts and tools
Strong writing, verbal communication, interpersonal, training, and analytical skills

Energy Solutions Engineer - Electrical
is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing electrical energy efficiency (EE) solutions for clients. This role involves analyzing energy consumption, recommending electrical system upgrades, and overseeing the installation of smart energy solutions, such as Energy Management Systems (EMS), smart LED retrofits, power factor correction, and other electrical energy solutions integration. The engineer collaborates with business development, audit, and project teams to deliver cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities: Electrical Energy Efficiency Solutions Design Develop customized electrical energy-saving solutions based on energy audit findings Design power factor correction, EMS, and smart lighting systems to optimize energy usage Perform load assessments and electrical system simulations for energy optimization Ensure compliance with EECA, IEEE, IEC, and local electrical codes Technical Analysis & Project Development Conduct power quality assessments and electrical efficiency studies Evaluate and recommend electrical energy efficiency solutions for energy savings Collaborate with Energy Analyst to analyze utility bills and electrical demand data Support the Business Development Executive in preparing technical proposals Project Implementation & Execution Work with contractors and suppliers to oversee the installation and commissioning of electrical EE solutions Ensure projects meet safety, quality, and energy performance standards and requirements Validate system performance to achieve targeted energy savings Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during project execution Communicate with stakeholders to understand their energy goals, address their concerns, and provide regular updates on project status and performance Innovation & Continuous Improvement Research and integrate smart energy solutions like AI-driven EMS, IoT-based energy monitoring, and demand response systems Collaborate with mechanical energy solutions engineers to integrate mechanical and electrical energy-saving strategies for holistic EE projects Keep up with government incentives, rebates, and emerging energy efficiency technologies Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Management, or a related field 3-5 years of experience in electrical energy efficiency, EMS, smart building, or power systems Strong knowledge of power factor correction, EMS, smart lighting, and electrical energy efficiency strategies Experience with electrical load analysis, energy audits, and EE regulations Certification in Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Registered Energy Manager (REM) is a plus Skills And Attributes:
