What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Research and integrate communication algorithms (e.g., Ring, Hierarchical Decomposition) tailored for NPU topology and workload patterns, ensuring scalability across many compute nodes.
  • Ensure software-hardware co-design compatibility, verifying correctness and performance across the chip’s instruction set, system software stack, and runtime environment.
  • Perform deep debugging and profiling using hardware-level tools and logs to rapidly identify bottlenecks or correctness issues and drive resolution.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with chip architects, firmware engineers, and system software teams to deliver optimized communication solutions aligned with the overall AI accelerator roadmap.

How You Will Stand Out

  • Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Integrated Circuit Design, or related fields.
  • Proficient in C/C++ and Python programming with strong software engineering skills; experience with assembly or low-level programming for hardware optimization is highly valued.
  • Deep understanding of heterogeneous hardware platforms, especially NPU architecture including compute cores, on-chip memory hierarchies, and communication fabrics.
  • Solid grasp of collective communication principles and algorithms, including the implementation of efficient communication primitives on hardware accelerators.
  • Experience with performance profiling and debugging at hardware-software boundaries, able to use tools like logic analyzers, hardware performance counters, and trace logs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative, cross-disciplinary environment.

We are hiring a Project Manager - Ubuntu Embedded Systems at Canonical

As a Senior Project Manager for Canonical's Devices business, this role is responsible for the coordination and completion of large complex customer-facing projects, overseeing all aspects of project delivery and acting as the primary delivery liaison between Canonical's engineering teams and Canonical's customers.

You will be managing the projects that involve the delivery of Ubuntu images on a wide variety of devices ranging from robots, edge gateways, and IoT devices to PCs and automotive systems. This is a high-profile project management position where you are expected to build and maintain working relationships with team members, customers, other partners/vendors (Silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs, IHVs), and other Canonical departments/teams.

Location: This role will be based remotely in the APAC region

The role entails

  • Managing projects through their complete life cycle and ensuring that the overall goals for both Canonical and the client are met
  • Successfully delivering engineering professional services for assigned projects
  • Working with engineering teams on custom board enablement and delivery of Ubuntu images to the customers
  • Assisting in the development of project statements of work
  • Drafting and maintaining project-specific schedules/project plans
  • Obtaining client agreement to the project schedule and agreed-upon work items
  • Ensuring projects are delivered within the time/resources/scope expectations
  • Managing project risk mitigation and plans
  • Driving technical issues to reach desired delivery outcomes
  • Maintaining daily and weekly communication with the client and all internal stakeholders
  • Managing delivery schedule of critical third-party deliverables for the project
  • Keeping management informed of the status of assigned projects
  • Identify custom engineering requests that are not part of an existing business contract
  • Advocating for the appropriate technologies from Canonical's product portfolio to customers
  • Supporting different time zones and work non-traditional hours as required to support the assigned projects

What we are looking for in you

  • Solid project management experience in delivering engineering services to customers managing software development teams and field engineers
  • Extensive experience successfully managing projects with cross-cultural and multi-continent internal and external project resources, preferably with resources in Asia, Europe, and the Americas
  • Educational degree preferably in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
  • Good knowledge of Linux and the wider Open Source Software community, and understanding of computer architecture
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, in English
  • Strong leader and problem solver with extensive experience building successful internal and external partnerships and effective working relationships with demanding project sponsors in complex organizational environments
  • PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification preferred
  • Ability to work non-standard work hours in support of a worldwide sales and project team
  • Willingness to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events

Designs and develops FPGA circuits and IPs including FPGA core fabric logic, interconnect routing, clocking, configuration, configurable memory blocks, and network on chip. Micro-architects and performs circuit and logic design, schematic entry, simulation, reliability verification, and verifies functionality to optimize FPGA circuits for power, performance, area, timing, and yield goals. Develops models and collaterals for FPGA circuits and IPs to integrate into FPGA hardware and software deliverables including circuit integration specifications, behavioral models, electrical rule checkers, design intent, and timing and power models. Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electrical/Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering is required . More than 5 years of experience in CMOS circuit design is preferred. Capable of reviewing the design within a broader team. Understand physics behind latest CMOS design process and layout dependent impact on performance , power and area.

Responsibilities

As master engineer in analog circuit design within the product development team, you are responsible for architecting, designing, and leading the whole technical development in architecting new measurement platforms, analog and mixed signal hardware design for Keysight test & measurement instruments. Design activities involve power supplies, analog circuit signal conditioning, mixed signal, data conversion (ADC, DAC), sensor & IO interface, PLLs, and analog filters design. Excellent skillset in troubleshooting power supplies, analog circuit design, and high-speed digital are a must for the job. You are required to have good knowledge in control system stability design, as well as a good understanding of components characteristics and behavior.

Advanced experience in using circuit simulation tools such as HSpice, PSpice, LTSpice, and/or Saber is required. You will work closely with mechanical and software (application and embedded) engineers within the development team to define and optimize the hardware system design to maximize the performance and quality of the product with minimum cost. Typical activities required for this job include:

  • Design and develop the overall analog and mixed system hardware architecture of an instrument.
  • Be well-versed in the latest technology trends and developments, able to involve in product platform roadmap and future design direction.
  • Strong knowledge in understanding customer applications and providing optimum instrument hardware design.
  • Good multi-disciplines (HW, FPGA, SW, FW, ME) development knowledge and responsible for designing and leading the development team in overall instrument system design and development.
  • Work with project management and marketing teams from product concept definition, technical investigation, to final product development work.
  • Lead the design team in system hardware and software integration.
  • Develop and define instrument system architecture according to product specifications and scopes.
  • Conduct design verification and component selection/evaluation.
  • Develop hardware design documents to promote consistent design practices and processes.
  • Promote good design practices and optimize reusable design blocks.
  • Play an active role in refining and improving hardware design processes.

Qualifications
  • PhD/Master/Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering.
  • Good understanding and experience in the whole product development concept and cycle.
  • Good working experiences in performing hardware and software system integration tasks.
  • Strong knowledge and experiences in fundamental digital, analog, and mixed signal circuit design and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced experience in using EDA circuit simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, PSpice, Saber) for design simulation and verification.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a good team player, working independently, self-motivated with a consistent drive to improve hardware design and design processes.
  • Experience in leading a design team to complete several projects.
  • Good organizational, planning, and communication skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken English skills.
  • Minimum 12 years of design experience.
