About the Role : As a Senior Power Systems Engineer, you will support a range of energy projects, with a focus on grid connection studies for solar, wind, energy storage, and hydro projects. You’ll provide critical technical insights and power system studies to help clients meet connection and access standards, ensuring their projects are compliant, efficient, and future-ready.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct power systems studies for energy projects primarily in Australia and the US, with increasing project work across Asia and the Middle East.
- Perform power system modelling and analysis for renewable grid connection studies, supporting transmission utilities and regulatory compliance.
- Prepare detailed study reports, ranging from connection feasibility studies for developers to in-depth static and dynamic connection studies for ISOs/utilities.
- Deliver high-quality reports and deliverables within agreed timelines and provide peer review support for other team members as needed.
- Perform complex assessments and provide specialized advice, solutions, and training for internal and external clients.
- Engage in technical development activities, including industry presentations and attendance at relevant forums.
- Educational Background: bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Experience: 6-10 years in power system studies, preferably with a focus on renewables integration, HVDC, FACTS, and inverter-based generation control systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in power system simulation tools such as PSS/E, PSCAD, with Python scripting skills for automation. Familiarity with additional tools like DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, PSLF, SINCAL, RSCAD, and MATLAB is a plus.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience in public speaking and presenting to global clients.

What will you work on?
We are presently seeking a Project Manager to become part of CLLS. This position is on a permanent basis, and the work location will be at our Kulai, Johor, Malaysia office.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
- Execute project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress, identifying and addressing any potential issues.
- Responsible for project administration, coordination, and overall leadership for all marine projects, production, site management & subcontractors on all aspects of installation activities and preparation of drawings and installation details.
- Ensure that all objectives of safety, delivery, completion time, and profitability are met for projects and equipment.
- Identify and resolve project issues and conflicts.
- Liaise and conduct technical meetings with customers, owners, contractors, and internal service teams.
- Study and make recommendations on technical drawings prepared by consultants.
- Monitor and maintain project deliverable quality standards.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure project outcomes meet or exceed expectations.
Education and Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience
- 10+ years' experience in a related role
- Well-organized with an aptitude in problem-solving
- Power Product knowledge

This is a great opportunity if you are currently working as an AIX/Linux System Administrator, who is looking to expand your expertise working in a small team supporting IBM Power hardware. You will be working alongside experienced professionals located in the UK to ensure the reliability and performance of our critical systems.
What You'll Do
- Day-to-day activities can vary from remote management of operating systems, performance monitoring and tuning, troubleshooting (often with broad involvement from multiple teams and including out-of-hours support), hardware replacement and maintenance of storage appliances, cabling, and firmware updates. Each day can be very different.
- Support the setup, configuration, and basic troubleshooting of IBM Power hardware, gaining hands-on experience.
- Perform routine maintenance and firmware management under supervision.
- Assist in AIX and Linux system administration on IBM Power architecture, including basic patching, OS upgrades, and deployment tasks.
- Learn to configure and maintain HMC and VIOS environments.
- Support IBM storage provisioning, snapshot restores, and replication policy maintenance.
- Assist in IBM Workload Scheduler operations and platform maintenance liaising with the batch operations team to ensure the schedule is running smoothly and aiding them where needed.
- Contribute to the maintenance and testing of disaster recovery (DR) procedures with guidance from senior team members.
- Develop your scripting skills in helping to maintain SFTP servers and scripts.
- Develop an understanding of IBM Spectrum Protect backup / recovery operations, including tape library maintenance and disk/tape backups.
What You'll bring with You
- You will have a strong foundation in IT support, including troubleshooting hardware, operating systems, and network issues.
- Ideally 1–3 years of experience in AIX/Linux system administration.
