Job Overview

Candidate Background

  • Minimum of 8+ years of EHS experience, with at least 5+ years in manufacturing management.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic EHS Program Management

4. Operational Integration

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

Qualifications Education & Certifications

  • Preferred: Green book (registered Safety Health Officer, SHO), CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist), or competent person in IETS/APCS.
  • Advanced degree in EHS Management.
Experience
  • 10+ years in EHS management within high-volume, 24/7 manufacturing, with 5+ years in semiconductor/electronics sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing confined space/LOTO programs in manufacturing environments.
  • Implementing EHS management systems (e.g., ISO 45001).
  • Leading teams of 5+ EHS specialists.
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in semiconductor EHS regulations (e.g., SEMI S2/S8, NFPA for cleanrooms).

Job Description

You will work with all SBUs/Site to ensure the business in Malaysia can be run safely and operate in compliance with the applicable EHS regulatory requirements and PPG company requirements. You will provide daily technical support and EHS management to ensure the business in PJ site, SSC UOA office and other PPG interest in Malaysia can be run safely and operate in compliance with the applicable Malaysia EHS regulatory requirements and PPG company requirements. You will report directly to SEA Senior Regional EHS Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate the implementation of PPG Environment/Health/Safety (EHS) Process consistent with corporate policy and regulatory requirements in PPG PJ site and SSC UOA office.

  • Communicate and implement the applicable regulations by working with all levels of management and PPG EHS Team.

  • Convey EHS knowledge, practices, technologies, and implementation strategies used by others inside and outside of PPG.

  • Participate in new project ACT EHS reviews, audits, and approval processes

  • Support each EHS staffs to develop/implement annual EHS KPIs and work plans guided by our needs and their PLP.

  • Conduct the monthly review meeting with each SBU/ EHS staffs to review the EHS performance and provide the follow up technical supports.

  • Support and conduct EHS trainings for all employees at PJ site.

  • Support MY commercial team EHS programs.

  • Support PJ Security program and act as Security focal point.

  • Provide daily EH&S management and technical support to each department at the Site to

  • Establish and implement EHSMS to achieve yearly EHS goals.

  • Conduct the on job EHS training for site EHS staff and other relevant managers/engineers /operators

  • Develop/implement the corrective action plans for corporate/regional EHS audit, third-party EHS audit, accident/incident follow up & prevention, and other EHS findings.

  • Perform the EHSMS internal audit based on ISO14001 requirements.

  • Promote multiple of EHS programs, create a safety culture in PPG.·

  • Coordinate, maximize and share the existing EHS resources in PPG site to develop and implement the EHS programs guided by our needs, such as PPG EHS Requirements, PPG EHS management system, Major EHS issues in the site (fire safety, chemical spill, PSM/HAZOP)

  • Other PPG Corporate EHS programs

    • Manage the environmental pollution prevention program (water, air and land)

    • Work with the site manager to recruit/allocate EHS resources, jointly review for site EHS staff's mid- year and year end PLP, conduct EHS talent management (career development plan, succession plan)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry, safety, engineering, environment or equivalent; fluency in English.

  • Minimum 7 - 8 years experiences in EH&S or related area.

  • Have either Safety and Health Officer Green Book or Scheduled Waste Manager competent certification.

  • Operate simultaneously in multiple EHS disciplines.

  • Experience with EHS principles and related departments (e.g., sales, technical, and distribution).

  • Strong communication and influencing skills that necessary to achieve good results.

  • Original thinking requiring analytical, interpretive, evaluative, and constructive skills to develop creative solutions.

  • Ability to interpret EHS regulations/policy
