The Sirēya Desaru Coast is looking for an E-Commerce Manager to join our Sales & Marketing Department. We are part of Mandarin Oriental, a group of award-winning hotels, resorts and residences located in prime destinations around the world. The Sirēya is a rainforest retreat on Desaru Coast, where jungle meets the sea and Malaysian nature, culture, and connection come alive in a balance of calmness and vibrancy.

About The Job

We are looking for a results-driven E-Commerce Manager to oversee and grow the hotel’s/resort’s online business channels. The role is responsible for developing and implementing e-commerce strategies to maximize online revenue, manage distribution platforms, enhance the digital customer journey, and ensure strong brand presence across all online platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute e-commerce strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize online bookings.
  • Manage all hotel/resort online distribution channels, including the brand website, OTAs (Online Travel Agencies), and other third-party platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze online sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to optimize strategies.
  • Ensure rate parity and effective channel management across all platforms.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop digital campaigns that drive traffic and conversion.
  • Optimize website content, user experience (UX), and booking flow to improve customer engagement and conversion rates.
  • Coordinate SEO/SEM strategies and digital advertising campaigns to increase visibility.
  • Collaborate with the Graphic Designer/Content Creator for promotional materials, landing pages, and social media content that supports e-commerce.
  • Track, analyze, and report on key e-commerce metrics such as revenue, conversion rates, ROI, and customer acquisition costs.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with OTAs, GDS, metasearch engines, and technology vendors.
  • Keep updated with e-commerce trends, hospitality tech innovations, and digital best practices.
  • Oversee online promotions, loyalty programs, and special packages to drive bookings.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in E-Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in e-commerce management, preferably within the hospitality or travel industry.
  • Strong understanding of online distribution, digital marketing, and revenue management.
  • Proficiency with booking engines, channel managers, PMS/CRS systems, and OTA extranets.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, and digital advertising.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Monitor e-commerce marketing and editorial calendar aligned with the brand’s business and merchandise strategy for paid search, display, email, social, affiliate and all other online channels to profitably acquire new customers
  • Responsible on monitoring daily operations or executions including stock management, merchandising, web content, price and fulfilment
  • Identify ways to continuously optimize customers’ digital experience: determine the ideal format and features of the website using a data driven approach combined with customer insights, recommending and overseeing execution of all appropriate and necessary site enhancements
  • Create and lead web developer on website roadmaps and customer journey profiles based on customer personas, developing a formal process for UX / usability testing
  • Develop wireframes and mock layouts for company websites; partnering with product management and marketing to maximize clarity of content and ease of navigation for customers
  • Analyze and assess the effectiveness of the website and all e-commerce marketing efforts. Define metrics and KPIs and provide regular analysis & performance reports of online performance to Management
  • Supervise all e-commerce and web related projects and initiatives
  • Collaborate with other brand & marketing teams to develop integrated campaigns through all digital channels and deliver comprehensive suite of digital customer engagement solutions beginning from marketing and moving into sales and e-commerce
  • Network with our external technology and business partners to research new technology products for e-commerce and website builds; provide recommendations to management
  • Work closely with e-commerce service providers and partners for driving company products on third party marketplaces
  • Prepare annual budgets, provide ongoing results analysis and forecasting, and drive prioritization of investments through quantitative business justification.
  • Performs other related duties and assignments as required
  • Candidate must possess at least a Diploma in Marketing or equivalent
  • At least 3 years working experience in related field
  • Strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia

About the job

We are looking for a results-driven E-Commerce Manager to oversee and grow the hotel’s/resort’s online business channels. The role is responsible for developing and implementing e-commerce strategies to maximize online revenue, manage distribution platforms, enhance the digital customer journey, and ensure strong brand presence across all online platforms.

As E-Commerce Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties: E-Commerce Strategy & Management
  • Develop and execute e-commerce strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize online bookings.
  • Manage all hotel/resort online distribution channels, including the brand website, OTAs (Online Travel Agencies), and other third-party platforms.
  • Monitor and analyze online sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities to optimize strategies.
  • Ensure rate parity and effective channel management across all platforms.
Digital Presence & Marketing Integration
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to develop digital campaigns that drive traffic and conversion.
  • Optimize website content, user experience (UX), and booking flow to improve customer engagement and conversion rates.
  • Coordinate SEO/SEM strategies and digital advertising campaigns to increase visibility.
  • Collaborate with the Graphic Designer/Content Creator for promotional materials, landing pages, and social media content that supports e-commerce.
Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Track, analyze, and report on key e-commerce metrics such as revenue, conversion rates, ROI, and customer acquisition costs.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to management for continuous improvement.
Partnerships & Technology
  • Manage relationships with OTAs, GDS, metasearch engines, and technology vendors.
  • Keep updated with e-commerce trends, hospitality tech innovations, and digital best practices.
  • Oversee online promotions, loyalty programs, and special packages to drive bookings.
As E-Commerce Manager, we expect from you:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in E-Commerce, Marketing, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in e-commerce management, preferably within the hospitality or travel industry.
  • Strong understanding of online distribution, digital marketing, and revenue management.
  • Proficiency with booking engines, channel managers, PMS/CRS systems, and OTA extranets.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, SEM, Google Analytics, and digital advertising.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
