Job Description
StashAway Kuala Lumpur, Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We’re expanding our Platform team and looking for a Software Engineer who is excited to work at the intersection of software engineering and infrastructure. If you’re passionate about enabling teams through robust core services and infrastructure, and eager to learn the tools that keep modern systems scalable, secure, and reliable, this role is for you.
Responsibilities- You’ll work on critical shared services like our API gateway, authentication systems, and internal developer tooling.
- You’ll also help shape and support the platform layer — designing infrastructure-as-code, managing Kubernetes manifests, and automating operations with modern tooling like Terraform, Flux, and Helm.
- You don’t need a traditional DevOps or infrastructure background (none is ok)— but you must be excited to learn and contribute across the full stack, from application code to cloud-native infrastructure.
- You’ll collaborate with engineers across domains to build systems that are secure, observable, and easy to operate — paving the way for our teams to move faster with confidence.
- Extending critical shared services, by adding rigorously tested and robust new features.
- Identify and implement improvements to streamline development work (e.g. more efficient code implementations, better leveraging caching to increase throughput - could be docker, could be applications).
- Research and carry out PoCs of new technology to understand potential benefits to teams and the organisation.
- Help maintain a strong and robust development platform for the engineering team.
- Support colleagues across the organisation in making technical and infrastructure decisions.
- Continuously identify areas for improvement to minimise development barriers.
- Compensation package: You will receive a competitive total compensation package that includes employee stock options if you are a full-time employee.
- Comprehensive insurance coverage: Free panel outpatient GP clinic visits, group hospitalisation and surgical insurance, and Covid hospitalisation insurance coverage (conditions apply).
- Management fee discount: You will receive an employee discount on your asset management fees when you invest with StashAway.
- Work-from-home policy: You may choose to work from home or the office depending on what works best for you and your team.
- Work-from-anywhere policy: You may request to work remotely for up to eight weeks in another country.
- Unlimited paid annual leave: It should be simple for you to decide if you would like to take more or fewer days off. We trust that you are accountable for your work and know best if you need 10 or 30 days of paid annual leave that year.
- Personal work equipment budget: It’s important that you have a workstation that’s optimal for you wherever you are.
- Annual L&D budget: You will be given an annual Learning and Development budget to help you continuously learn in your pursuit of your professional and personal development. You may use the budget for resources and tools that may help you perform better at work.
