Data Center Operations designs, installs and maintains the world’s largest Computing Infrastructure. Our scope of work includes systems, repairing, dealing with issues, handling and tracking parts and assisting in Data Center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will help change the face of Technology in the region.
Key job responsibilities
In this role as a Data Center Operations Technician, you will be responsible for the on-site management of hardware lifecycle of our IT infrastructure that includes:
You will troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, ranging from servers, storage and networking devices so they operate on a 24/7 basis.
You will maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
You will participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies with opportunities to share experiences and knowledge with our global network of technical experts.
You will share knowledge and help train less technical staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues.
You will contribute towards building a great team by getting involved in the Amazon hiring process/candidate interviews.
You will work and meet SLAs against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow, be the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
You will perform on-call duties and will participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
You will participate in team meetings for metric analysis and to discuss achieving daily/weekly goals.
You have the knowledge of the policies and procedures, including safety and security, within your department, and understand the appropriate application of such knowledge
You will contribute to documentation on technical issues through root cause analysis for operational issues that occur, and contribute to process improvement initiatives relevant to the data center environment.
More experienced technicians may assist in training less experienced members of the team.
A day in the life
You will support DC (Data Center) infrastructure equipment (e.g. racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables, etc.),
You will follow the instructions ticket-based environment and work on systematic problem resolution and perform routine operation activities on hardware, or spare parts, including rack install, server break/fix, rack decom etc.
You will perform on-call duties and will participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
You will be involved with site management and maintain tidiness in operation areas
Your role involves covering 24x7 shift rotation

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of Server Hardware and network fiber hands-on experiences required.

Data Center Operations Technician, Data Center Operations – join AWS Infrastructure Services to support the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Data Center Operations Technician, Data Center Operations – join AWS Infrastructure Services to support the design, planning, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. You will help keep the cloud running across AWS data centers, servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment, while contributing to safety, security, and cost efficiency. Responsibilities
On-site management of hardware lifecycle for IT infrastructure including servers, storage, and networking devices, with 24/7 operation coverage. Maintain high system reliability and availability; meet SLAs for assigned trouble tickets via directed workflows; be the first line for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues. Participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies; share experiences with a global network of technical experts. Share knowledge and help train less technical staff on best practices related to service owner issues. Contribute to building a strong team by participating in Amazon hiring processes and candidate interviews. Perform scheduled maintenance and change management activities in Data Center operations; monitor data center infrastructure and participate in site management to keep areas organized. Contribute to documentation on technical issues via root cause analysis and participate in process improvement initiatives relevant to the data center environment. Participate in team meetings for metric analysis and to discuss daily/weekly goals. On-call duties as required; cover 24x7 shift rotation and respond to issues in a timely manner. Support DC infrastructure equipment (racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables). Follow ticket-based instructions to resolve problems and perform routine hardware operations such as rack installs, server break/fix, and rack decom. Troubleshoot and solve problems; maintain tidiness in operation areas; participate in on-call duties and scheduled maintenance. Show strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving. Support site management and ensure 24x7 shift coverage. Qualifications
Basic qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience with server hardware and network fiber components. Experience in network troubleshooting, optical fiber cabling, switches and routers. Ability to act as escalation point and communicate effectively. Preferred qualifications

As a member of the Cloud Hardware support organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of Datacenter Technicians and/or Field Engineers assigned for delivery of on-site support, installations, proactive services in a defined territory and/or data center sites. Focuses to meet the required service levels 24x7, improve and drive customer satisfaction, identify business opportunities and mitigate any operation gaps. The role involves significant communication at all levels internally and externally. A primary point of contact responsible for facilitating and providing advice and assistance on diverse situations and escalated issues.
**Responsibilities**
+ Providing leadership, direction, and operational excellence within sites/territory
+ Translates organisation goals into performance objectives for each team member and measures individual performance against plan.
+ Develops employees through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, development, and training needs.
+ Master all service delivery/operation related processes and advises team members on the effective and efficient way to use Oracle services and products, tools, interfaces and procedures.
+ Responsible for KPI and metrics improvement.
+ Reacting to and managing any incidents/escalation that occur, driving resolution and after-action analysis.
+ Working at a global level with peers to achieve consistency.
+ Coaching and mentoring individual contributors across the organization
+ Primary point of contact for customers and Oracle LOBs for any customer situation and escalated issue.
+ Requires a 7x24-hours commitment to participate in the regional standby rotation program and shift.
