Develop and implement talent development strategies and programs to attract, retain, and develop top talent within the organization in consultation with the Immediate Manager.

This role goes beyond recruitment; it’s about identifying and nurturing homegrown talent, helping new team members flourish once they join us, and supporting the ongoing growth, development, and retention of our existing staff. You will also act as an advocate for Caymanian employees, ensuring they have access to meaningful opportunities and a strong voice in our people-focused initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Supporting Caymanian Growth & Development
Coordinate scholarship programmes, internships, and apprenticeships that provide Caymanians with clear pathways to meaningful careers. Partner with WORC, local schools, and community organizations to strengthen our Caymanian talent pipeline and promote career opportunities at Kirk Market. Work with managers and supervisors to identify training and development needs across departments. Support career growth initiatives that enable employees to build new skills, take on greater responsibility, and progress within the organization. Ensure Caymanian employees are given structured support through coaching, training, and succession planning opportunities.
Employee Engagement & Retention
Plan and coordinate recognition and engagement activities that strengthen employee morale and retention. Conduct check-ins with new hires, particularly during their first 90 days of employment, to ensure they feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success. Gather and review employee feedback to identify opportunities for workplace improvements. Collaborate with leaders to reinforce teamwork, communication, and alignment with Kirk Market’s Core Values.
Recruitment & Onboarding
Provide support in the recruitment process by helping with job postings, reviewing applications, coordinating interviews, and maintaining candidate communication. Assist with preparing offer letters, conducting reference and background checks, and ensuring all required pre-employment documentation is complete. Coordinate onboarding activities to give new employees a positive and consistent introduction to Kirk Market. Represent Kirk Market at selected job fairs, school visits, and community events to promote our workplace and career opportunities, with a focus on engaging Caymanian talent.
Reporting & Process Improvement
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of recruitment, training, and employee engagement activities. Monitor and analyze HR data to measure progress, identify trends, and recommend improvements that strengthen employee experience, retention, and recruitment efficiency. Ensure all activities are carried out in compliance with company policies, employment legislation, and our Business Staffing Plan commitments.
Work Schedule & Compensation
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, or public holidays if needed. Salary: CI$45,000 – CI$65,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus benefits.

Lead strategic workforce initiatives such as succession planning, competency frameworks, and leadership pipeline development. Champion organizational effectiveness by aligning people strategy with business priorities and cross-departmental collaboration. Lead the People & Culture roadmap — from onboarding to offboarding — to ensure every employee’s experience reflects WORQ’s culture of growth, accountability, and community. Oversee employee engagement initiatives, including culture-building activities, recognition programs, and company-wide events that enhance morale and belonging. Strengthen internal communication channels and foster an open, feedback-driven culture. Ensure diversity, inclusion, and well-being are embedded into all programs and practices. Learning, Development & Leadership Growth
Oversee the company’s Learning & Development strategy, including programs for leadership development, skills upgrading, and coaching frameworks. Work with L&D specialists and department heads to identify capability gaps and design training roadmaps that align with current and future business needs. Develop and maintain competency models across key functions to guide career progression and performance evaluation. Measure and report on learning impact and growth outcomes. People Operations & Policy Alignment
Strategically collaborate with the HR department on people-related processes, documentation, and systems in partnership with the HR team (Talent Acquisition, Employer Branding, Performance Management). Ensure that all policies, procedures, and practices balance compliance, fairness, and the company’s human-centered philosophy. Continuously improve employee lifecycle processes for clarity, efficiency, and experience — from onboarding to career progression. Culture Leadership & Change Management
Be a culture ambassador and lead change management efforts to ensure smooth implementation of new systems, initiatives, or structural changes. Drive alignment between People, Culture, and Business Strategy, ensuring every team understands how their role contributes to the company’s mission. What We’re Looking For
At least 8 years of experience in HR, People & Culture, or Organizational Development, with proven leadership experience. Strong strategic and analytical thinking — able to translate business goals into people and culture initiatives. A builder’s mindset — resourceful, creative, and excited to design frameworks and programs from the ground up. Empathetic communicator and trusted partner to both employees and management. Familiarity with fast-paced, growth-stage environments (startups, coworking, tech, or service industries preferred). Passionate about shaping a positive culture. Seniority level
