allnex is looking for an experienced Credit Analyst to join the GBS Finance team in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia! This position is responsible for assessing and monitoring the creditworthiness of customers, setting appropriate credit limits and payment terms, and working closely with Sales, Finance, and Legal teams to drive timely collections and minimise bad debt exposure.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with allnex global credit policies and procedures, adapting best practices to local business needs.
  • Review and maintain effective credit control processes to assess creditworthiness, support sales growth, and minimise bad debt risk.
  • Monitor the quality of accounts receivable and drive proactive and continuous collection efforts together with the Sales team and collection team to secure timely payments.
  • Coordinate with Legal on escalated collection cases.
  • Partner with Finance/Accounting to ensure AR accuracy, prepare reports, and propose allowances for doubtful accounts.
  • Highlight credit issues to management and recommend solutions.
  • Guide and train local controllers and Sales teams to strengthen credit management culture.
  • Independently conduct credit research, set or approve credit limits within authority, screen and approve new customers, and release or hold orders as appropriate.
  • Handle daily credit management activities and perform other tasks as assigned.
Required skills and experience
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in a similar or related function within an international environment.
  • Experience in SAP is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills
  • Commercial mindset with global business focus

Job Description
  • Job Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive credit evaluation on new-to-bank and existing customers by reviewing financial statements, cash flow projections, business plans and other relevant information to assess creditworthiness.
  • Evaluate debt repayment ability based on factors such as income, assets, debts, employment status, credit history and other related factors.
  • Provide recommendations on credit limit/approvals based on the outcome of the credit evaluation process.
  • Monitor and control overdue accounts, negotiating payment schedules when necessary.
  • Ensure all credit proposals are processed within agreed turnaround time.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of customer’s credit history and account status in the bank’s system.
  • Comply with all applicable internal policies and procedures including credit policy manual and operating instructions.

Job Requirements
  • Degree holder in Finance, Accountancy or Economics;
  • Fresh graduates are welcome;

  • Personally develop and maintain strong working relationships with GB & CMB Relationship Managers / Associates along with executives in Risk to ensure that all risks to the business, financial and non-financial, are properly recognized and thoughtfully mitigated in proposals.
  • Ensure that all work is delivered within agreed timeframes, PLAs and meets the required high quality standard.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant policies, FIM guidelines and procedures issued by the Group.

  • Communicate clearly with team members and other parts of GBM as required.
  • Maintain HSBC internal control standards.
  • Need to implement the Group Compliance Policy, as applicable to their role.

Job Description

We’re looking for a highly analytical and collaborative Credit Analyst to deliver independent, timely, and well-researched credit opinions and recommendations across a defined coverage universe. Your insights will directly support portfolio construction and risk management for our fixed income investment team, influencing performance and contributing to the firm’s growth in assets under management. In this role, you’ll conduct fundamental credit analysis, assign internal risk ratings, monitor market developments, and proactively identify risks and opportunities. You’ll also engage with regional investment and business development teams, and work cross-functionally with portfolio managers, ESG specialists, and client-facing teams — all while demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills.

Position Responsibilities
  • To conduct in-depth investment research and fundamental credit analysis on assigned credit coverage universe.
  • To monitor portfolio holdings, market development and corporate actions, providing independent and timely investment recommendation and opinion when required.
  • To produce credit review reports and regular credit updates for companies and debt securities under coverage.
  • To engage company management, rating agencies, and sell-side counterparties to discern key credit drivers.
  • To collaborate with regional credit teams on regular meetings, publications, and ad hoc projects. To address internal/ external requests regarding credits and sectors under coverage.
  • To contribute to ongoing investment ideas and discussions.
  • To provide support in fixed income investment-related aspects of marketing and product development, including preparation of presentation materials, market reviews/outlooks and credit opinions.
  • To participate in other ad-hoc projects/requests as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university. A CFA/CAIA designation will be an added advantage.
  • 5-10 years of experience in fixed income/credit research.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg and Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to articulate viewpoint and opinion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in investment and/or fund management industry will be an added advantage.
  • Able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong team player.
