Overview
The CSM is responsible for driving and monitoring the companys policies and practices with the intent to minimise the organisations environmental imprint without compromising the economic well-being of the company. The CSM will provide integrated support to all services in understanding sustainability obligations, planning and implementing initiatives, monitoring and reporting results. The CSM will also serve as the in-house expert educating and guiding relevant stakeholders in making informed decisions regarding the improvement needed to maintain the health of the environment and systemic growth of the company.
Key Functional Areas
- To lead the formulation of policies and strategies relating to sustainability within the group
- To set annual ESG goals for the group in consultation with key stakeholders
- To educate, review, and report on progress in relation to the sustainability initiatives
Job Description
- Implementing changes in corporate strategy to make the work environment and practices more eco-friendly; communicating these changes to all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborating with various departments to incorporate sustainable practices and set goals related to reducing their environmental impact.
- Develop a carbon offset programme in line with the sustainability framework of the Group
- Analyse and audit the companys activities in line with our stated sustainability pillars, and making recommendations to revise them.
- Monitoring and evaluating the companys purchasing, manufacturing, shipping, supply chain, waste management and other similar processes as they relate to sustainability and ensuring compliance with stated ESG goals.
- Identifying all areas where the company can lessen its environmental impact and making recommendations relating to them.
- Writing reports that detail the results and evaluations of research; presenting that information to management with recommendations for research-based modifications
- Setting guidelines that govern the interplay between the organisation and the surrounding environment.
- Leading training sessions and workshops on sustainability practices and policies to educate and influence employees
- Identify relevant certifications or endorsements for the companys sustainability initiatives.
Required Skills
- Relevant experience in the area of driving sustainability programmes for a diverse and global organization is critical
- Knowledgeable about ESG trends in different sectors
- Professional membership in a relevant organization is an advantage
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills to establish effective and professional rapport with all stakeholders in executing duties.

As manager in Corporate Sustainability (Community) , you will lead and manage projects through their full lifecycle from requirements gathering through to deployment and acceptance and be r e sponsible for thei r successful completion and programme reporting . You will also need to work closely in the ESG team and across the firm, lever aging (lea rning from and contributing to) experts across energy transition, climate change, nature, human right s and inclusion & diversity.

Review and maintain project documentation produced by the team, in line with project processes.

Qualifications
5 to 8 years of Sustainability, ESG or Corporate Responsibility experience, including stakeholder management, project management, assessments and reporting.
Have working knowledge of international sustainability standards and best practices (like ISSB, GRI Standards, UNGC, SDGs, UNGPs, SASB, TCFD, IIRC, etc.)
Have experience writing and/or coordinating Sustainability reporting.
Experience in developing and implementing programmes in Sustainability & responsible business areas.
Sound understanding of corporate sustainability across various industry sectors.
Collaborated with multiple nonprofit organisations and social enterprises in Sustainability and ESG areas.
High proficiency in using spreadsheets and slides.
Able to analyse data and provide recommendations or interventions.
Plus: Proficiency with data analysis and visualisation tools.
Additional skills
Able to work on several projects simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
The candidate should have an established track record for delivering Sustainability/ ESG programmes.
Able to manage project financials.
Energetic, passionate, and entrepreneurial attitude.

An exciting opportunity currently exists in our growing ERM Climate Advisory team in Southeast Asia.This is a Principal Consultant, Climate Change role within ERM’s regional Southeast Asia Team to lead a portfolio of projects for ERM’s key corporate clients in Malaysia, Southeast Asia and beyond.
This is a senior role, where the candidate will need to be a team leader for a team of 6-8 consultants in Malaysia, thought leader in promoting climate change topic internally, within ERM team, and amongst various stakeholders in Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific region (corporates’ executives, project developers, government agencies etc.) via participation in seminars, conferences and clients events as well as connecting with other lead climate experts across ERM.
The candidate will work with ERM’s business development teams and leaders across Asia Pacific to maintain existing client relationships as well as grow new client portfolios in Southeast Asia and more broadly resulting in the growth of ERM’s opportunity pipeline. This will require an individual with good communication skills, client/market understanding and proposal development skills.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Leading projects’ implementation: Act as a technical advisor/leader for climate consultancy projects for corporate clients across a variety of economic sectors, focusing on such topics as low carbon economy transition, GHG emissions reduction actions and plans, climate and net zero strategies, Science-Based Targets, climate-related financial risks and opportunities assessment, adaptation strategies, etc. Provide technical guidance to project teams, conduct technical reviews, ensure quality and timely delivery of project outputs within the budget.
- Business development: assist senior sellers and account directors/managers in identifying and pursuing potential business opportunities with existing and new clients. Help develop and pitch proposals for clients, including methodological approach and description of tasks, budgets and team structures.
- Technical guidance and capacity building: guide and build capacities of ERM climate advisory team inSoutheast Asia coaching, training, sharing knowledge and market updates within the team and coordinating with ERM global Climate Technical Community to understand best practices, approaches, methodologies and tools to apply them in the Southeast Asian region.
- Strategy, marketing and thought leadership: support Regional Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change Lead for Southeast Asia in developing regional strategy for climate advisory services, marketing plans and materials; participate in marketing and communication activities around climate advisory, including preparing and co-leading external workshops, webinars, learnig sessions, developing thought leadership materials, communication pieces, and reports for a wide audience.
- Team leadership: lead a team of 6-8 consultants in Malaysia, including defining their goals, priorities, coaching, mentoring, hiring new team members.
Requirements:
- At least 7 years of experience in climate change mitigation and GHG accounting and/or climate risk assessment and adaptation.
- Very strong analytical skills and ability to analyze GHG/climate data and draw conclusions and practical recommendations as a result of the analysis.
- Good understanding of private sector’s climate needs and priorities and ability to advise to the executive- and board- level representatives on climate-related issues, risks, opportunities, strategies, targets and action plans.
- Strong written, verbal communication and data presentation skills. Ability to present complex and technical information in an easy-to-understand manner.
- Ability to work both in a team and independently, with minimal supervision.
- Capacity and willingness to lead consultancy projects and project teams; ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and meet deadlines.
- Good command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and online communication tools. Experience with data management systems and tools is a plus.
- Work experience in Asia and understanding regional context is a plus, but we are open for candidates with experience in other regions willing to reallocate to Southeast Asia.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Engineering, Energy, Economics, Sustainability, Finance or related field.
- Fluency in English. Knowledge of Asian languages will be considered a plus.

Principal Consultant, Climate Change
role within
ERM’s regional Southeast Asia Team
to lead a portfolio of projects for ERM’s key corporate clients in Malaysia, Southeast Asia and beyond.
This is a senior role, where the candidate will need to be a team leader for a team of 6-8 consultants in Malaysia, thought leader in promoting climate change topic internally, within ERM team, and amongst various stakeholders in Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific region (corporates’ executives, project developers, government agencies etc.) via participation in seminars, conferences and clients events as well as connecting with other lead climate experts across ERM.
The candidate will work with ERM’s business development teams and leaders across Asia Pacific to maintain existing client relationships as well as grow new client portfolios in Southeast Asia and more broadly resulting in the growth of ERM’s opportunity pipeline. This will require an individual with good communication skills, client/market understanding and proposal development skills.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
Leading projects’ implementation: Act as a technical advisor/leader for climate consultancy projects for corporate clients across a variety of economic sectors, focusing on such topics as low carbon economy transition, GHG emissions reduction actions and plans, climate and net zero strategies, Science-Based Targets, climate-related financial risks and opportunities assessment, adaptation strategies, etc. Provide technical guidance to project teams, conduct technical reviews, ensure quality and timely delivery of project outputs within the budget. Business development: assist senior sellers and account directors/managers in identifying and pursuing potential business opportunities with existing and new clients. Help develop and pitch proposals for clients, including methodological approach and description of tasks, budgets and team structures. Technical guidance and capacity building: guide and build capacities of ERM climate advisory team in Southeast Asia coaching, training, sharing knowledge and market updates within the team and coordinating with ERM global Climate Technical Community to understand best practices, approaches, methodologies and tools to apply them in the Southeast Asian region. Strategy, marketing and thought leadership: support Regional Corporate Sustainability and Climate Change Lead for Southeast Asia in developing regional strategy for climate advisory services, marketing plans and materials; participate in marketing and communication activities around climate advisory, including preparing and co-leading external workshops, webinars, learnig sessions, developing thought leadership materials, communication pieces, and reports for a wide audience. Team leadership: lead a team of 6-8 consultants in Malaysia, including defining their goals, priorities, coaching, mentoring, hiring new team members.
Requirements:
At least 7 years of experience in climate change mitigation and GHG accounting and/or climate risk assessment and adaptation. Very strong analytical skills and ability to analyze GHG/climate data and draw conclusions and practical recommendations as a result of the analysis. Good understanding of private sector’s climate needs and priorities and ability to advise to the executive- and board- level representatives on climate-related issues, risks, opportunities, strategies, targets and action plans. Strong written, verbal communication and data presentation skills. Ability to present complex and technical information in an easy-to-understand manner. Ability to work both in a team and independently, with minimal supervision. Capacity and willingness to lead consultancy projects and project teams; ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, and meet deadlines. Good command of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and online communication tools. Experience with data management systems and tools is a plus. Work experience in Asia and understanding regional context is a plus, but we are open for candidates with experience in other regions willing to reallocate to Southeast Asia. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Climate Change, Environmental Engineering, Energy, Economics, Sustainability, Finance or related field. Fluency in English. Knowledge of Asian languages will be considered a plus. This position is open for Local and Foreign candidates alike.
