Job Purpose
Assist Head of Department in credit acquisition for corporate loans/ financings to exceed target as well as managing the team members.
Job Accountabilities
- Credit Acquisition
- Work with Head of Department and lead the Team Members with a focus on originating deals, wallet sizing and cross-selling on existing portfolio, exceeding clients’ expectations and overall growth.
- Work within the confines of the Risk Management framework.
- Account Profitability
- Maximize earnings potential and revenue of relationships.
- Review and monitor revenue performance.
- Multiple products sold to clients.
- Managing portfolio’s ECL and ensuring asset quality of the portfolio.
- Client Relationship Management
- Support, identify, solicit and establish a high value client base for the bank.
- Ultimate ownership of customer relationship and customer interface.
- Activate opportunities and risk criteria.
- Manage proactively a portfolio of corporate accounts by monitoring the status and credit risk of each account.
- Internal coordination/liaison with service delivery centers / HQ departments to maximize process efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Service Management
- Promptness in completing annual reviews, other credit submissions and preparation of Executive Summary, where necessary.
- Ensure promptness and quality of credit processing.
- To present all annual review papers to Group Management Credit Committee.
- Monitor overdue accounts and undertake prompt measures to prevent deterioration to NPL.
- Provide customer level information to relevant parties within the Bank.
- Facilitate the drawdown of facilities.
- Staff Development
- Mentor and coach to the Assistant Relationship Manager(s) (ARM).
- Identify training needs and recommend ARM for development training.
- When and where necessary, to guide and advise the ARM of their portfolio management.
- Compliance to Regulatory and Bank's Policies and Procedures
- To comply with regulatory and Bank’s internal policies and procedures and provide feedback to ensure better efficiency.
- Ensure that client instructions are duly effected by applying all standard checks and controls, coordinating with other departments including Operations/Finance/ Compliance.
- Accurately assess the risk profile, suitability and appropriateness of clients when marketing products and services by maintaining an accurate and up to date call report.
- To manage the application of AML/CFT internal programs and procedures including proper maintenance of records and to report suspicious transactions.
- Apply regulatory requirements such as KYC, AML/CFT and procedures at all times.
- Additional Responsibilities
- Undertake additional responsibilities e.g. working committees etc. assigned by the immediate superior when required.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent.
- Experience in auditing will be an added advantage.
- Candidate with professional credit certification such as PCC, CCE, BCP, Chartered Banker will be an added advantage.

**Responsibilities**
+ Lead client coverage activities, originate deals, and maintain strong, effective relationships within the assigned client portfolio. Serve as the primary contact and relationship owner for your clients.

+ Work closely with senior bankers to provide overall relationship management support
+ Provide a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions, including day-to-day cash management, trade, vendor finance, foreign exchange, loans, debt capital markets (fixed income and bank), share repurchase, and interest rate and equity derivatives

Job Responsibility
- Prepare internal credit ratings and conduct credit reviews for corporate clients, ensuring adherence to the Bank’s policies, credit principles, lending direction and guidelines.
- Evaluate the overall credit worthiness of the borrowers and the ability to meet credit obligations periodically, and alert business for any adverse conditions/news.
- Work with Corporate Banking coverage team to support all related credit analysis matter.
- Interact with the client including gather deal requirements, financial statements and other inputs for performing quality analysis and due diligence.
- Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance/Economics or related field
- Up to date with legal, compliance and market risk related issues
- At least 5-6 years of relevant working experience
- Strong analytical skills with good grasp of financial analysis
- Ability to analyze cash flows, leverage, collateral and customer strength
- Excellent interpersonal and writing skills to ensure effective delivery of credit reports and communication with stakeholders.

- Supervise, lead, and guide the team to ensure successful achievement of corporate KPIs and departmental objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, provide continuous coaching and structured on-the-job training (SOJT) to enhance skills, knowledge, and competency.
- Identify relevant training and certification opportunities for team members (e.g., credit analysis, financial modelling, i-CCE, AQIF, Professional Banker).
Credit Evaluation & Proposal Preparation
- Analyze historical financial statements to assess turnover growth, profitability, and financial ratios, benchmarking against industry peers.
- Evaluate all credit aspects including management strength, industry outlook, market competition, collateral, and cash flow projections to determine the viability of financing requests.
- Prepare comprehensive credit proposals for new and additional financing, incorporating appropriate risk mitigation strategies and financial covenants.
- Review and validate credit proposals and justifications submitted by team members, ensuring alignment with internal policies and procedures.
- Address and resolve comments raised by Credit Risk on financing proposals.
Credit Review & Risk Monitoring
- Develop and maintain a schedule for credit reviews of all approved facilities in accordance with MFRS 9 classifications (quarterly, half-yearly, or annually).
- Review and comment on credit review reports prepared by team members.
- Identify early warning signals and recommend appropriate actions, including restructuring, reclassification, or transfer to Group Credit Recovery (GCR).
Variations to Financing Terms (R&R / RVT)
- Evaluate and review proposals for rescheduling, restructuring, or other variations to terms and conditions.
- Ensure timely issuance of letters of consent, changes, and related documentation for post-financing activities.
Compliance & Due Diligence
- Oversee the review of Customer Risk Profiling, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for customers and related parties.
- Ensure full compliance with AML/CFT guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Site Visits & Monitoring
- Conduct or supervise scheduled, non-scheduled, or surprise site visits to monitor project progress and validate customer operations.
- Review site visit reports and assess implications on MFRS 9 triggers or other credit risks.
Reporting & Documentation
- Review monthly reports including Loan Status Reports for Pre-Watchlist, Watchlist, Impaired, and R&R accounts.
- Evaluate Monthly Monitoring Reports and provide input for ad hoc reports required by BNM, auditors, or management.
Process Improvement & Special Projects
- Recommend and implement updates to Credit Operations Guidelines, policies, and procedures to enhance internal processes.
- Participate in credit value chain projects and represent the department in cross-functional initiatives or task forces as assigned by the Head of Department.
Job Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in financial/banking industry
- Knowledgeable in credit structuring
- Familiar in corporate and debt restructuring and project rehabilitation.
- Experience in loan/project monitoring.
