Purpose of Role
To deliver engaging and effective Computer Science lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE curriculum, fostering students’ computational thinking, programming skills, and digital literacy. The teacher will inspire learners to explore the world of technology and prepare them for academic success and real-world application.
ISP Teacher Key Responsibilities
Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons that meet the IGCSE Computer Science syllabus requirements.
Teach core topics such as algorithms, programming (e.g., Python), data representation, computer systems, and networks.
Use a variety of teaching strategies and digital tools to accommodate different learning styles.
Assess, monitor, and report on student progress through formative and summative assessments.
Prepare students for IGCSE examinations, including revision sessions and mock exams.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and share best practices.
Stay current with technological advancements and integrate them into teaching.
Participate in school events, extracurricular activities (e.g., coding clubs, robotics), and professional development.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, ICT, or a related field (required).
Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent).
Experience teaching the Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science curriculum is highly desirable.
Strong programming knowledge, preferably in Python.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Passion for technology and education.

The Opportunity
Level B Teaching Fellows are expected to make solid contributions to teaching and learning within their school. Teaching Fellows at this level may be appointed in recognition of distinction in their disciplinary area. The position is expected to engage in high-quality education and enhancing the student learning experience of the School. S/he will play a strong leadership role in educational innovation, curriculum design and review. S/he will make an outstanding contribution inside and outside of the University, and in engagement with the community and profession, notably in areas related to teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of innovative and excellent teaching, learning and assessment experiences for undergraduate and postgraduate students
Contribute to the School in terms of education quality, OBE and accreditation matters
Contribute to the curriculum development, innovation, enhancement and quality assurance in the undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum, especially during the off-semester periods
Work closely with the School’s Education Management Office (EMO) for efficient education-related statistics gathering and student progress tracking, especially during the off-semester periods
Contribute to the management of education and/or administration in the School, including coaching, mentorship, leadership and effective performance management, where relevant
Contribute to academic service responsibilities, including contributing to outcomes of the discipline and/or school meetings and/or internal committees
Contribute to the development of strong collaborations with other universities and with government, industry and/or civil society to drive excellence and impact of education and student experience

Education/Qualifications
A strong record of successful and innovative curriculum development
An outstanding record of teaching which demonstrates a commitment to educational innovation
Demonstrated skills and experience in collaboration and leadership
Ability to promote the discipline internally within the university as well as externally, both nationally and internationally
Eligible to register with the MBOT as a Professional Technologist
- Eligible to apply for a teaching permit with the Ministry of Education
