The opportunity
You’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the largest clients in Malaysia from a finance perspective, covering the following functions:
- Management Reporting
You will also have the opportunity to learn from other high performing individuals in EY as well as benefit from leading edge training and materials to help in your development.
Your key responsibilities
You will be assigned to one of the two aforementioned functions according to your skillset, where you will be:
- Involve in the timely preparation and submission of individual audited financial statements, management reports, corporate income tax returns and other internal and external reporting in accordance with the relevant accounting and tax standards and Company policies.
- Support the local controller to coordinate, plan and maintain accounting activities for month end, quarter end and year end closing by adhering to timeline and ensure completeness and accurate maintenance of accounting records.
- Monitor and manage all taxes (direct and indirect) periodic submissions, filings, payment and notices/letters as raised by relevant authorities.
- Support and assist to response on all tax (direct & indirect) queries, tax assessments and notices, identify potential tax risk/issue and drive on the mitigation plan.
- Support relevant stakeholders request and reporting, such as coordinate with auditors, tax preparers, other business units, banks representative, government agencies and statutory bodies.
- Support, liaise and work with impacted parties on the implementation in response to new statutory & tax regulations.
- Provide support to general activities such as data mapping, maintaining proper work documentation.

- Minimum 2 years of work experience in deep functional operations within one or more Finance functions
- Proficiency with basic MS applications ie. Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Flexibility to undertake secondment at client’s premise, and open to a contractual employment arrangement
Ideally, you’ll also have
- Experience in SAP system implementation and business process transformation is an added advantage

Modern tax regulations are highly complex and dynamic. As one of our Global Compliance and Reporting professionals, you'll help clients meet the increasing and ever more complex demand for tax compliance, reporting and advisory services within organisations.

Your Key Responsibilities
- You'll contribute technical insights to business tax compliance engagements, prepare income tax returns for organisations in diverse and specialised industries, and prepare estimated tax liabilities to assist clients in meeting their tax payment obligations.
- You'll make sure that the work we deliver is of high quality, uses our global compliance processes and tools, and is reviewed by the next-level reviewer.
- Anticipate and identify risks and escalate issues as appropriate.
- Help to create a positive learning culture, coaching and counselling junior team members to help them develop professionally and personally as an influential member of the team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong drive to excel professionally, and to guide and motivate others
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills
- Dedicated, innovative, resourceful, analytical and able to work under pressure
- Foster an efficient, innovative and team-oriented work environment
