Job Description
Bright Spots Energy , we believe that access to clean, reliable energy is not just a necessity—it’s the
foundation for thriving communities
and a
just energy transition. What It Means to Work With Us
We don’t hire resumes. We hire problem-solvers. Builders. We know that constraints breed creativity. That’s why we look for talent that thrives in real-world conditions—not just on paper. The people who join us have a drive to solve problems that matter with limited resources and a lot of ingenuity. If you’ve built a system that works, or innovated without permission—you’ll thrive here. About the Role
We are launching a bold, community-led rooftop solar project to drive national adoption of renewable energy. Our goal is to reduce costs through group-buying, build trust through local partnerships, and show that rooftop solar can be accessible for all — especially lower- and middle-income Malaysians. To fulfil this mission, we are seeking smart, highly motivated founding members to form the Malaysia team. Do you enjoy high degree of ownership and responsibility? Join us as a
Program Manager
to lead the implementation of our demand aggregation strategy. This role will shape pilot programs, coordinate with multiple partners, and build systems and trust where few exist today. You’ll report directly to the CEO and work closely with a small, agile team and experienced advisors across policy, tech, and community engagement. This role offers a unique opportunity to accelerate Malaysia’s rooftop solar uptake at scale. You’ll play a hands-on role in shaping and delivering a nationwide solar demand aggregation program—designing practical strategies, engaging stakeholders, and helping thousands of energy users make the switch to solar. What You’ll Do Community Engagement:
Build trusted relationships with local communities, understand their energy needs and concerns, and co-design solutions that ensure inclusivity and shared ownership. Pilot Launch:
Design and implement group-buying pilots across 2–3 communities involving 400+ households. Stakeholder Engagement:
Manage relationships with local councils, solar providers, and residential associations. Team Management:
Supervise one outreach coordinator responsible for partner engagement and event logistics. Progress Tracking:
Monitor key project milestones and metrics; lead documentation and reporting. Tool Use:
Use Google Workspace, Notion, and Monday.com to manage deliverables, timelines, and communications. Model Development:
Capture learnings and help build a replicable playbook for wider rooftop solar adoption. Job Requirements
What We’re Looking For 3–5 years of experience in program or stakeholder coordination (especially in energy, government, or community development) Experience working directly with communities—listening, facilitating dialogue, and building trust across diverse groups Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills Self-starter comfortable creating systems and workflows in real-time Strong organisational and goal-oriented mindset Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and English Based in Klang Valley, with occasional travel if needed Familiarity with project management tools like Notion, Google Workspace, and Monday.com

We are an independent and non-profit cancer research organisation based in Malaysia. Funded by donations and research grants, we conduct research in niche cancers often found in our Asian population.
Cancer — the big ‘C’ — continues to be a stigma, only spoken about in hushed whispers; how it’s bad karma, how much it costs, and that nothing could be done.
Confronting this stigma head on, CRM has been reversing this language of cancer, transforming the big ‘C’ to a little ‘c’, and we plan to develop tools backed by good research to ensure that we can truly fight cancer on all fronts.
We believe that we will reverse the grip of cancer in our lives. We want researchers to win the war against cancer by turning it around with new ways of prevention and cure. We want to empower the public through impactful outreach programmes, with the hopes that Malaysians will respond differently to cancer by coming forward for screenings and going through with treatments.
Our driving force is held together by these goals:
- Improving the survival rates of Asian cancer patients, focusing on neglected areas of research.
- Empowering Asians to have the proper screening and treatment.
- Improving survival rates by being more accessible, focusing on providing existing cures to patients rather than sit on inaction and potentially losing lives.
- Making affordable and timely treatments by repurposing drugs, acknowledging the reality that developing new cures are costly and risky.
- Putting Malaysia in the global spotlight for cancer research by collaborating with top scientists around the world, and working to nurture the next generation of Malaysian cancer researchers.
