The Marketing Planning Manager is responsible for driving comprehensive marketing planning across the Bank’s various business lines. This includes coordinating the quarterly marketing plan, defining key focus areas for each quarter, and developing the annual business plan for the division. The successful candidate will work closely with internal stakeholders to consolidate and align marketing initiatives across Consumer, Business, and Islamic Banking LOBs, ensuring strategic coherence and avoiding duplication. This role reports to the Head of Marketing Planning.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Functional (job responsibilities)
- Collaborates with stakeholders across the organization to coordinate the consolidated quarterly and monthly marketing calendars and align marketing initiatives across Consumer, Business, and Islamic Banking LOBs.
- Coordinates campaign post-mortem analysis and management reporting for key campaigns.
- Coordinates the Marketing CXO Council as required to align on focus areas and marketing spend for every quarter.
- Identifies and actively keeps updated on industry trends and innovations, as well as competitor initiatives and campaigns; proposes new ideas and concepts for marketing and consumer propositions to pilot or conduct Proof of Concepts for, and collaborates with identified Cross Functional Teams for implementation and handover of successful implementations for operationalization.
- Collaborates with Cross Functional Teams across the organization to roll out the Service Standards to customer-facing and support functions, and leads sustenance initiatives required to ensure high adoption in creating a customer-centric service culture.
Managerial (team/group responsibilities)
- Responsible for the day-to-day management and smooth operation of various initiatives and projects
- Assume formal or informal leadership role to influence decision through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to stakeholders and business leaders
- Responsible for effectiveness of implemented initiatives & POCs. Expected to propose and report on key measurement metrics to assess effectiveness
- Responsible for quality, timeline and achievement of initiatives. Expected to prepare periodic progress reports of initiatives assessing milestones, deliverables, impediments and KPIs
- Responsible for compliance to Service Standards SOPs. Expected to work with stakeholders to conduct periodic audits, mystery shopper and/or other research activities to ensure compliance
Organizational (organizational responsibilities)
- Ownership of the bank’s Service Standards framework which encompasses guidelines for service delivery for customer-facing and support functions i.e. branches, contact centre, social care, customer advocacy, relationship managers and other functions as required.
Jobholder Requirement
Education/Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree holder or post-graduate diploma, professional degree in business, marketing or other relevant fields
- 8 years & above years in marketing and planning is a plus
- Experience in leading team and cross-functional teams is a plus
Experience
- Solid knowledge of Brand and Marketing, Planning, Business Management and Service Culture
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in ideation and implementation of new ideas and concepts for marketing and consumer propositions
- Possess leadership ability and able to self-motivate and lead cross-groups collaboration and secure the co-operation and involvement of key internal and external stakeholders
- Highly experienced in building and growing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and partners with creative thinking, problem solving and have strong bias for action
- Sound project management knowledge and skills with strong ability to drive continuous improvement via iterative improvements and/or strategic POCs of new ideas and concepts
Special Skills
- Up to date with brand, customer-centric service culture, market trends and sound ability in market research
- Demonstrable negotiation, influencing, networking, presentation and diplomacy skills, with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Sound Project Planning and Management skills; sound Budget Planning and Management skills
- Adept at multitasking, confident and comfortable to manage multiple projects concurrently while keeping to expectations on timeline and quality
- Working proficiency of MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Suite of Products

We are looking for a highly driven and motivated Public Relations Manager to join our team in Malaysia, overseeing a key reputation management function. Well-versed in stakeholder engagement and understanding of the media and regulatory landscape, this individual will play a crucial role in building brand love by unearthing engaging, unexpected stories from the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop foodpanda Malaysia’s public relations strategy and uphold positive brand reputation across all stakeholder groups.
- Build relationships with key tier 1 media (broadcast, tech, lifestyle and trade) to ensure a consistent narrative is being communicated externally.
- Lead proactive storytelling, media pitches and policy comms campaigns to secure positive media placements focusing on foodpanda Malaysia’s mission.
- Manage crisis communication and develop response plans for potential issues.
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to identify compelling stories and align communications metrics with business goals.
- Oversee and manage agencies to ensure alignment with business goals. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, adjusting as needed.
- At least 6-8 years of demonstrated experience in leading PR and communications work, engaging a wide range of external stakeholders.
- A strong network of journalists focused on lifestyle and business space, with a keen understanding of various media channels and news cycles with proven success in achieving coverage across different media segments.
- Ability to exercise strong judgement, possess good problem-solving and crisis management. skills, and ability to collaborate with functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated experience providing counsel to and collaborating closely with senior management and business functions to achieve the effective implementation of PR campaigns, driving brand awareness and reputation management.
- Agency experience is a plus.
- A concise and clear communicator with written and oral communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.

MAIN JOB TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

JOB REQUIREMENTS A minimum of 4-6 years of relevant experience in public relations or similar fields like advertising, marketing, or media. Demonstrated ability in building and managing client relationships. Experience with budget oversight and team service level management. Innovative and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills. Quick and accurate decision-making abilities, providing effective client counsel. Excellent team management and motivational skills. Collaborative and egalitarian in approach. We are looking for a highly driven and motivated Public Relations Manager to join our team in Malaysia, overseeing a key reputation management function. Well-versed in stakeholder engagement and understanding of the media and regulatory landscape, this individual will play a crucial role in building brand love by unearthing engaging, unexpected stories from the business.
Key Responsibilities
Develop foodpanda Malaysia’s public relations strategy and uphold positive brand reputation across all stakeholder groups. Build relationships with key tier 1 media (broadcast, tech, lifestyle and trade) to ensure a consistent narrative is being communicated externally. Lead proactive storytelling, media pitches and policy comms campaigns to secure positive media placements focusing on foodpanda Malaysia’s mission. Manage crisis communication and develop response plans for potential issues. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to identify compelling stories and align communications metrics with business goals. Oversee and manage agencies to ensure alignment with business goals. Monitor and measure the effectiveness of communication strategies, adjusting as needed.
Qualifications
At least 6-8 years of demonstrated experience in leading PR and communications work, engaging a wide range of external stakeholders. A strong network of journalists focused on lifestyle and business space, with a keen understanding of various media channels and news cycles with proven success in achieving coverage across different media segments. Ability to exercise strong judgement, possess good problem-solving and crisis management. skills, and ability to collaborate with functional teams in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated experience providing counsel to and collaborating closely with senior management and business functions to achieve the effective implementation of PR campaigns, driving brand awareness and reputation management. Agency experience is a plus. A concise and clear communicator with written and oral communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus.

THE ROLE:
We are recruiting a Public Relations Manager in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to join our dynamic, results-driven team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in Public Relations and a solid rolodex of local and regional m edia and influencer contacts, a proven track record in leading teams to deliver results, developing integrated campaigns, and fostering a positive work environment. You’ll focus on building smartly crafted integrated communications campaigns for brands in the luxury, travel and hospitality sectors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Devise and implement client campaigns, and ensure end-to-end account servicing to achieve results for clients, working alongside the team in Singapore to deliver work excellence
- Provide strategic thinking, full-service delivery and additional insights for all clients
- Proactively build, strengthen, and lead client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and lead day-to-day contact
- Counsel clients as required and actively contribute to meetings and presentations
- Demonstrate a passion for and understanding of storytelling across earned, paid, owned and shared media
- Write and produce strong written content, including messaging, press releases, statements, briefing books, etc
- Plan and manage team workflow and delivery
- Ensure KPIs are met across all touch points on accounts
- Maintain and build strong relationships with A-list media and influencers in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia
- Ensure best practice in campaign reporting, performance management, and measurement
People & Culture
- Manage, motivate and mentor junior team to meet deadlines and drive excellence across accounts
- Help foster a positive and inclusive company culture that encourages collaboration within the team
- Assist to plan and implement efficient processes and systems on accounts
- Represent Upcycle as an ambassador at industry and media events
Commercial & New Business
- Assist with sourcing and engaging partners and vendors as needed
- Contribute to new business briefs, devising creative plans and responses as required
QUALIFICATIONS :
- At least 5 - 8 years of experience in public relations, social media marketing, digital marketing and communications, ideally agency side in Malaysia
- Experience with hospitality / lifestyle / F&B brands
- Possess a mix of skills across media relations, social media, influencer programmes, content, events, activations, corporate communications, crisis management and/or stakeholder engagement
- Existing strong network of relationships with media and influencers in Malaysia and across Southeast Asia
- Excellent communications, presentation and interpersonal skills
