JOB PURPOSE
- Develop and implement various communications messaging including crisis communication for external stakeholders to communicate the attributes, values and meet the overall communications objectives for MISC Berhad.
Content Development and Production of Corporate Literature & Marketing Communication Materials

- Support the BUs/SUs/subsidiaries on all matters concerning the development of marketing collateral and support them in any related external communication initiatives including external speaking engagements and presentations, trade events, brochures etc where possible.
- Coordinate and supervise all designated areas of publication of corporate literature and marketing communication materials including but not limited to annual reports, corporate profile, corporate brochures, corporate videos etc. to ensure the MISC’s brand and image is presented positively.
Media Relations
- Manage the development and execution of media strategy and plan for the international and local/regional media for the MISC Group. This includes focused plans for the maritime/energy industry media.
- Drive positive media coverage of MISC and its group of companies including the development media releases, factsheets, advertorials and articles as well as attending to media inquiries and organising media interviews and briefings when required
- Monitor and prepare the media coverage report to analyse and assess the effectiveness of GSRC’s media relations initiatives, analyse the coverage and share the findings with the Head, External Communications.
- Monitor relevant industry trends, events, news and opportunities and ensure timely communication and update is provided to the Head, External Communications and the Head, Group Corporate Communications.
- Update and maintain current media list and ensure it is accessible by all external communications team members.
Issues & Crisis Communications
- Proactively coordinate the monitoring of mainstream and social media coverage during any crisis/incidents and inform/update the Head, External Communications and the Head, Group Strategic Relations & Communications in a timely manner.
- Manage the execution of approved crisis communications plan to mitigate concerns, ensure timely and efficient communication of information and safeguard the reputation of MISC and its group of companies.
- This includes but not limited to preparing the holding statement, factsheet, Q & As, script/responses to the internal stakeholders and the next-of-kin, etc.
- Update, prepare and compile the necessary templates (including holding statements) that are essential to ensure GCC’s preparedness in managing any future crisis communication requirements.
Communications Support to the BUs/SUs/subsidiaries
- Collaborate effectively with the BUs/SUs/subsidiaries in the development of their marketing communication materials as well as provide communications support for their external stakeholder engagement initiatives including external speaking engagements, trade events and etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- At least 10 years of related working experience with exposure in PR / Corporate Communications / Events Management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies, Public Relations, Mass Communication, Business Administration or equivalent.

About The Job
The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and managing marketing and communication strategies to enhance the company’s brand visibility, support business objectives, and drive revenue growth. This role oversees all marketing channels, communications, public relations, advertising, promotions, and digital platforms, ensuring consistent messaging and a strong brand presence in the market.
As Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Support the Director of Sales & Marketing across all aspects of marketing at resort level.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing to execute B2C and B2B multi-channel campaigns to drive resort brand awareness and bookings across trade, direct and third-party channels.
- Work with a cross-departmental team to maintain and develop the master content and promotions calendar for all strategies and campaigns for the resort.
- Work closely with Director of Sales & Marketing and Global Commercial Team to track campaign performance and metrics.
- Ensure all creative assets and sales and marketing materials adhere to global The Sireya Desaru Coast brand guidelines and templates e.g. print ads, display ads, social ads, factsheets, brochures, gifting etc.
- Ensure all on-resort guest-facing collateral and communications follow global The Sireya Desaru Coast brand guidelines and templates e.g. in-room compendiums, spa menus, resort branded items, activity sheets etc. Ability to draft on resort requirements—guest letters, etc.
- Develop materials and assets required to promote The Sireya Desaru Coast and ensure they maintain up-to-date and factually correct. Own and develop resort press material.
- Ensure brand consistency across all commercial channels and touch-points.
- Act as the The Sireya Desaru Coast brand ambassador and ensure resort activations align with The Sireya Desaru Coast brand standards.
- Work with the Director of Sales & Marketing and Global Commercial Team across resort photo and video shoots and ensure assets are shared with the wider community and uploaded onto the central system.
- Design and create marketing collateral in line with the The Sireya Desaru Coast global standards and ensure the quality and accuracy of design aligns with the global brand.
- Manage the print production of collateral and understand the different specifications and processes available.
- Work closely with resort operational teams to pull together promotional timelines and materials and assets required to promote on property events and activations across Spa, F&B, Activities, Rooms etc.
- Work closely with Director of Sales & Marketing to develop email marketing calendars and content plans.
- Work closely with Director of Sales & Marketing to ensure resort website is continually updated with most recent information and content.
- Execute media relations, events, social media, and other emerging media platforms and ensure all activity is maximized.
- Continued interface across a variety of media, across all mediums. This should include key social media channels, including key people of influence, brands, etc.
- Ability to pitch media and have excellent storytelling skills. Ability to host and manage media on resort, including itinerary creation, interviews, filming, and more.
- Manage the media database on Salesforce.
- Develop all key messages for the resort and ongoing story angle development for media and editorial.
- Support the on resort team with development of monthly social media content calendars to be approved by Global Social Media Team.
- Ensure resort is properly represented at tradeshows and events with the appropriate commercial materials, in line with The Sireya Desaru Coast brand guidelines.
- Read all relevant press, aware of luxury trends and share with the wider commercial team as well as emerging design, creative and travel trends, web technologies and digital marketing advances.
- Ensure all copywriting and editing is aligned with The Sireya Desaru Coast tone of voice.
- Develop and manage ongoing content creation and ensure its distribution across all channels including website, e-mail marketing, social etc.
- Responsible for graphic design, content development and copyediting.
- Develop and execute social media content and campaigns with any agency of record.
- Collaborate with agencies, freelancers, community outreach organizers, media, and other vendor partners.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues in other departments.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas to execute specific marketing plans for revenue outlets within the resort.
- Demonstrate keen understanding for the unique obstacles, needs and business requirements of designated functional areas.
- Prepare creative briefs to define commercial objectives and guide creative development.
- Be familiar and work within budgets related to strategic initiatives.
- All other duties as assigned by Director of Sales & Marketing.
- High-level understanding of InDesign, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat, CMS experience, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Knowledge of digital marketing including Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Email & Acquisition Marketing, Social Media Marketing and other online advertising.
- Proficiency in web analytics and web metrics required including Mastery of Google Analytics/Webmaster tools and dashboards.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills.
- Write routine reports, correspondence, business letters, summaries, and reports using prescribed format, and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.
- Ability to speak and present effectively before groups such as customers or employees.
- Experience with Brand building and demand generation through content - blogs, social, video, web, e-mail.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking
- Proven communication, project management, and organizational skills.

The Marketing and Communications Manager is part of an important team that creates and executes property-level communications to our customers. As part of the Marketing and Communication team, this role is fully connected into resources in their region; Marketing and Communication Managers liaise and build deep partnerships with their regional eCommerce and Marketing teams to verify all local, social, and digital marketing efforts are effectively integrated with the selling efforts for the organization. This role also gets to do a little bit of everything, from balancing traditional and digital marketing and eCommerce activities to contributing to public relations (PR) activities for the hotel. Success is measured by how well they help drive the sales and revenue strategy of the property, social media engagement and also by how effectively leveraged the resources around them are to create truly compelling marketing and communications campaigns.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience
Required:
• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Marketing, Public Relations, Business Administration or related major and 4 years experience in the sales, marketing, digital or related professional area; hospitality marketing or digital advertising experience preferred

• Manages F&B media schedules and verifies prompt settlement of accounts.
• Partners with property Revenue Management to verify correct offer loading, verifying advertisement targeting is correctly directed at relevant consumer groups
• Executes email marketing, and display advertising.
• Maintains frequent, active engagement with Cluster eCommerce manager to verify alignment, pull-through, and 2-way communication about the status, performance evaluation, opportunities, and issues related to online programs and initiatives.
• Verifies all advertising for the hotel in digital channels is in alignment with brand voice.
Social Media Content Management
• Facilitates social media engagement and updating content in local digital channels (e.g., hotel website, travel sites).

THIS POSITION IS BASED IN JOHOR BAHRU CITY SQUARE MALL.
A) Marketing & CommunicationsPlan and execute marketing campaigns to enhance brand presence and attract target audiences.
Develop concept proposals, marketing materials, and budgets.
Foster tenant relationships and cross-promotions.
Achieve revenue targets through rental of promotions area, advertising space, pushcarts and other identifiable revenue-generating media.
Evaluate tenant/external proposals and make recommendations.
Ensure smooth coordination of events and promotional activities.
Manage licensing and sponsorship applications.
Oversee project management and post-event evaluations.
Collaborate with agencies and suppliers to execute advertising campaigns.
Coordinate production of marketing materials.
Maintain brand consistency in advertisements and promotions.
Prepare budget reports and track expenses.
Monitor press coverage and competitor activities.
Stay updated on industry trends to enhance marketing effectiveness.
To coordinate inter-departmental liaison on the implementation of marketing and promotions.
To ensure smooth and timely installation and dismantling of events/promotions.
To attend to issues at the point of event/promotions and to ensure problems are resolved on time.
To ensure promotional booth/events display follows guidelines & approval given.
To ensure the advertising materials and advertising collaterals are in place for all the promotional events.
Minimum Degree/Diploma in Mass Communications, Marketing or equivalent or at least 2-3 years of similar experience in an officer or executive position, preferably in the mall marketing, event company, advertising, or publishing industry.
Computer literate (Microsoft Office). Compulsory working knowledge of graphics applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, creative multimedia, etc. a distinct advantage.
Fast-paced, high degree of accuracy & a good head for detail.
Creative, thinks “out of the box”.
Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia (oral and written).
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.

The Role
- Supports the Marketing Communications Manager in planning of marketing activities as well as create/organize promotion activities to promote the resort’s products, service, facilities and promotions.
- Supports in the implementation and review of graphic standard in guest collaterals, sales collaterals and advertising execution to ensure that each items is in line with the PARKROYAL graphic standard and is validated by the Corporate Office.
- Provide support to the sales department by developing the resort sales tools including presentation file, corporate gift, multimedia tool etc. and ensuring the most appropriate communication of the resort, the product and the brand.
- Assist to develop and implement the collateral and promotional materials of the resort’s F&B outlets as well as actively promote the resort’s outlets into the market.
- Assist to manage e-Newsletter, Poster, Flyer, banner as well as update TV screens in guest rooms and LCD screen in the resort public areas.
- Support in partnership and joint promotions with credit cards companies, magazines, airlines, websites, mobile networks and business association.
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with business associates, sponsors and guests.
- Supports the Marketing Communications Manager in conducting marketing survey for all F&B outlets throughout the year as planned and compile the report with marketing suggestion.
- Supports in analysis and evaluation of promotion and advertising as well as the marketing performance.
- Supports in maintaining the resort’s database including gathering more new potential, maintain the exiting as well as develop the database and the resort’s email marketing.
- Any other tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
- Degree or Diploma in Public Relation, Mass Communication or relevant discipline
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years relevant experience in a similar capacity of an international brand
- Possess a quality to establish strong social connections
- Have a positive attitude toward challenges and the drive to excel
- Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
- Strong interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for the hospitality industry and an eye for detail
- Creative and innovative out of the box thinking
- Willing to relocate and work in the Langkawi island
