Your key responsibilities
This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively collaborate with various stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and external partners, to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with our brand tone and voice.Your responsibilities include:
- Identify target audiences, tactics and methods for communications outreach and engagement
- Develop relevant and quality external communications programs, plans and materials, including key messages, content, and positioning, to be disseminated to targeted external audiences in a timely and accurate manner
- Create and manage content for press releases, speeches, newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to gather insights and ensure messaging is consistent and effective.
- Serve as the subject matter expert, providing guidance to internal stakeholders on public relations activation.
- Proactively build relationships and collaborate with media outlets or organizations, community groups, commentators, opinion makers and relevant influencers to expand outreach, source opportunities and generate interest in topics
- Act as a focal point for media requests - monitoring and responding appropriately to requests from the media
- Facilitate and organize media interviews, articles, press briefings, and public speaking engagements for the organization’s designated spokespeople
- Support preparation of spokespeople for media interactions and public appearances, including briefing process
- Oversee and manage the organization’s digital assets, including the website, social media channels, and WhatsApp broadcasts.
To qualify for the role you must have
- A degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field
- Excellent written and oral communications, as well as listening and interpretation skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Analytical, lateral thinker
- Meticulous, with an eye for detail
- Able to work independently, virtually, and collaboratively in a large, matrixed organization
- Strong project management and delivery skills - able to work under pressure, balance several assignments at one time, while prioritizing and meeting deadlines
- Possess confidence and maturity to interact effectively and develop strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Able to work with complex and sometimes technical subject matters and turn them into compelling media stories
- Knowledge and sound understanding of the local media environment and social media landscape and best practices

- Drive media-related activities and programmes for the Group to ensure positive publicity, including end-to-end planning, development and implementation of PR activities
- Research, plan, strategise and develop content for media consumption, including press releases, talking points for spokespersons, Q&A documents, articles, video scripts and infographics.
- Coordinate press conferences, product/campaign launches, media interviews and media briefings, ensuring media needs and requirements are met with the highest standards

- Working with Head on crisis communication efforts by updating toolkits, conducting simulations, and coordinating responses with relevant departments.
