This role is responsible for the development, execution, and pricing of procurement risk strategies for Flex, with a focus on Distribution.
What a typical day looks like:
- Responsible for the development, recommendation, and execution of optimal sourcing strategies for certain items.
- Develop a technical, statistical and fundamental assessment for each commodity.
- Manage cash negotiations and secure advantageous commercial agreements with approved suppliers.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for annual and multi-year purchase commitments.
- Coordinate selection of transportation modes and carriers which will result in lowering the delivered costs of materials while assuring continuity of quality supply, flexibility to respond to changing requirements, and maintenance of vendor relationships for long term benefits.
- Cost Management/Reduction/Cost Avoidance.
- Manage inventories associated with the strategic commodities to avoid additional expense or shortage to the company.
- Evaluation of commodity risk positions reported to multiple levels of the organization.
- Develop plans resulting in cost savings, synergies, quality improvements and supply chain efficiencies.
- Evaluate hedge effectiveness and calculate cost savings and avoidance.
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Prefer a minimum of 1-2 years of experience in materials or related field. A background in electronics manufacturing is desired.
