Commercial Operations Lead – Surgical Vision MalaysiaReporting to the Country Manager, the primary responsibilities of the Malaysia commercial operations lead will include working closely with the local Commercial team and cross-functional teams in SEA.
Major Duties & Responsibilities End-to-end Revenue Recognition- Consolidate monthly demand at SKU level by liaising with local sales representatives on identifying demand based on actual and forecasted consumption.
- Validate the order to be placed for to-go market sales (TMS) by verifying inventory required against the current inventory stock and only place an order for missing or low quantity SKUs.
- Liaise with the distributor on monthly Purchase Order based on the validation performed and align with market lead for approval.
- Ensure the final shipping is completed post order being raised as well as maintaining Customer Base in SAP system.
- Responsible for managing In-Market Sales data from distributors and monitoring inventory level data at warehouse and consignment locations. Provide recommendations based on the insights derived from the sales and inventory data.
- Champion inventory analysis and reporting of Month on Hand (MOH) as key measurement for effective inventory management to SEA leadership team.
- Accountable for identifying any risks or opportunities associated with inventory management and communicate to SEA leadership team on timely basis.
- Accountable for consignment and samples management in accordance with SOP and compliance.

Purpose Statement
This role will build and lead a high-performing, customer-centric Centre of Excellence (CoE) team providing Commercial Excellence business services to country/area commercial teams. The CoE will support key business processes in sales and service operations, commercial analytics, reporting and insights, and process optimization to enhance efficiency and drive business performance across APAC. This role will ensure superior support to the business by driving standardization, automation, and continuous improvement in partnership and collaboration with GBS and country teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Build, lead, and develop a diverse team with varied skillsets, ensuring they are well-trained, driving improvement and value for commercial teams.
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities for standardization, automation, and process improvement in commercial operations. Work closely with process SMEs and drive cross-country/area collaboration.
- Service Levels: Ensure that appropriate documentation, templates, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are in place for all processes. Conduct monthly reviews with commercial teams to track performance of current processes and pipeline of opportunities.
- Performance Management: Monitor service delivery against SLAs, engage in root cause analysis when issues arise, and continuously refine performance metrics to enhance efficiency.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Conduct monthly reviews with relevant commercial leaders to discuss performance, process harmonization and manage future opportunities.
- Data & Insights: Provide new commercial analytics, reporting tools, and business intelligence solutions, ensuring data-driven decision-making for commercial leaders.
- Value Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging best practices and digital transformation to optimize commercial processes. Drive the VIP pipeline for Commercial Operations.
- Talent Development: Recruit, retain, and develop team members, ensuring a high-performance culture that supports professional growth and capability building.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Over 10 years of experience in Commercial Operations, Sales Operations, Supply Chain Operations, or similar functions.
- Proven people leadership capability and track record of building and managing teams by fostering a diverse workplace, being a role model to drive Diversity and Inclusion.
- Proven ability to establish and communicate a clear vision of a newly established team to the team members as well as stakeholders.
- Track record of identifying improvement opportunities and implementation of the solutions with the team, challenging status quo for operational excellence, by aligning with stakeholders under complexity.
- Proven skills of stakeholder management in a matrix organization, together with communication skills to deliver presentations at top management level and to influence and collaborate with others in a well-grounded manner.
- Proven ability to work with a ‘sense of urgency’ to meet critical deadlines.
- Strong project management skills including change management, prioritization and time management.
- Ability to work across different cultures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and multi-task with flexible and agile mindset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Additional APAC languages is desirable (Mandarin, Japanese, other).
