The role of a Sales Development Representative at Canonical

What your day will look like
- Handle inbound customer inquiries across email, phone and chat
- Execute outbound sales & marketing campaigns
- Travel to events and conferences worldwide, presenting on booths and driving face-to-face marketing and sales opportunities
- Collaborate across multiple teams and senior stakeholders to drive results
- Work directly with marketing on campaigns
- Research information about prospective customers

Your base pay will depend on various factors including your geographical location, level of experience, knowledge and skills. We are looking for a dynamic Sales Development Representative who is highly driven, tenacious, creative, and works well under pressure. You will work alongside our founder and sales team to introduce the Esevel platform to prospects. This isn’t just a job but an exciting journey in a fast-growing startup.
What You Will Be Doing
- Quickly learn the product, and value proposition and be able to react to objections and answer questions
- Develop and execute a strong prospecting plan of action, including LinkedIn outreach, email, and cold calls
- Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, and develop accounts to stimulate opportunities through systems such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Apollo
- Effectively communicate our value proposition through outbound calls
- Educate prospects on benefits through nurturing campaigns
- Interact with prospects via video calls and emails, with a high attention to detail
- Effectively qualify prospects before handing them off to the Account Executive
- Schedule initial prospecting meetings for the Account Executive
- Research and test new outreach methods
- Diligently input, track, and measure leads through CRM systems such as HubSpot
- Minimum 1 year of proven excellence in business development or outbound sales
- Strong sense of urgency to reach goals and key deliverables. Acts without being told what to do. Bring new ideas to the table
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales KPIs
- Strong understanding of sales development and lead development of best practices and procedures
- Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot or Salesforce is strongly desired
- Fully reliable and detail-oriented, with a drive to execute flawlessly
- Positive can-do attitude and tireless work ethic. Driven and self-sufficient

Your Role
As a Sales Development Representative, you will be an integral part of the Growth team. Being part of the team, you will work alongside KONGSBERG’S trusted salesforce to offer the best suited digital solutions to clients. You will be the first point of contact for potential clients and play a crucial role in driving our sales pipeline. You will identify and qualify sales opportunities, work closely with our sales and marketing teams, and develop relationships with key decision-makers. These clients will be on different levels in their digital journey, your goal is to set the stage for successful sales engagements by understanding client needs and demonstrating the value of our solutions.
Your main responsibility will be nothing short of extraordinary:
- Lead Generation:
- Identify and research potential clients through various channels, including social media, industry events, and online databases.
- Develop and implement strategies to generate new leads and expand the company's customer base.
- Initial Outreach:
- Conduct outbound calls and emails to prospective clients to introduce our digital twin solutions.
- Schedule and conduct initial discovery calls to understand client needs and qualify leads.
- Qualification:
- Use established criteria to evaluate leads and determine their potential fit for our solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of interactions and follow-up activities in our CRM system.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with the marketing team to align on and execute lead generation strategies and campaigns.
- Partner with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition of qualified leads and provide relevant background information.
- Relationship Building:
- Build and nurture relationships with key decision-makers and influencers within target organizations.
- Stay informed about industry trends and the competitive landscape to effectively position our solutions.
- Product Knowledge:
- Develop a deep understanding of our technology and its applications.
- Clearly communicate the value proposition and benefits of our solutions to prospective clients.
- Performance Tracking:
- Meet and exceed individual and team targets for lead generation, qualification, and sales appointments.
- Regularly report on key metrics, performance, and insights to the sales manager.
Having a background and experience in SaaS and/or the Energy industry would be incredibly valuable:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field with 3- 5 years of experience in a sales development or lead generation role, preferably in the SaaS or technology sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Familiarity with SaaS, digital twin technology and its applications is a plus.
- Good to have experience in Oil & Gas industry
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.

**Join our exciting sales development team**
Our Sales Development Team partners with Akamai's Sales organization to identify and qualify new customer opportunities for the sales team to pursue. We work closely with our Marketing team to follow-up on campaigns and events to increase pipeline and generate demand for new customer revenue.
**Become a trusted advisor to customers**
As a Sales Development Representative, you will identify and qualify enterprise account leads and opportunities. You will focus on analyzing business needs by information-gathering, pre-qualify opportunities via phone, social & email engagement. You will be generating qualified opportunities for regional sales teams.
As a Sales Development Representative, you will be responsible for:
+ Prospecting for new business opportunities via outbound initiatives.
+ Qualifying, nurturing and developing a volume of inbound leads on set target accounts.
+ Generating sales-ready meetings and opportunities for the Account Executives.
+ Researching contacts and generating demand through call and email campaigns & attend marketing events.
+ Developing lead qualification and prospect engagement using phone and chat system to achieve/ exceed set quotas
+ Using and maintaining our SaaS toolkit (CRM, Sales engagement platform) to keep data accurate.
**Do what you love**
To be successful in this role you will:
+ Have at least 4 years of experience in Sales/Business Development or Telemarketing
+ Prior experience in Cybersecurity
+ Have an interest in analyzing and identifying business needs through information gathering to pre-qualify opportunities
+ Have a comfort level doing online research and leveraging various software
+ Have a desire working in a team and growing in the organization
+ Able to communicate in English
