Job Description

This job is for a Cloud Solutions Engineer who troubleshoots and supports cloud technologies, especially for video streaming. You might like this job because you’ll work directly with customers to solve problems and improve services!

  • React and respond to automated alarms and perform necessary troubleshooting/analysis.
  • Perform necessary on-call escalation for further investigation.
  • Provide technical and solution support to customers and partner through tickets, telephone, email, meeting.
  • Troubleshoot, perform root cause analysis. Handle service tickets based on the SLA requirements and templates.
  • Interface with engineering partner/on-site engineer to fulfil customer function and performance request.
  • Develop service FAQs and cases periodically based on service requirements, and share with others.
  • Responsible for networking fundamentals and protocols (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, REST API, etc.), by managing audio & video multimedia protocol, CDN distribution acceleration, RTC and other technologies.
  • Have overall awareness, help establish a Quality Service (QS) evaluation system, improve the efficiency of problem handling, and effectively promote the resolution of quality and efficiency problems in the research and development process.
  • Perform work with cloud technologies such as Alibaba, AWS, Azure, GCP to cope with video live streaming technologies.
Job Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Diploma and/or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Required language(s): Mandarin (Speak, Write, Read) and English. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients .
  • Familiar with cloud and networking.
  • Programming language such as Python and/ or Golang (Go) would have added advantage.
  • Preferable basic Live Streaming relevant knowledge such as video and audio encoding/decoding, CDN, RTMP, real-time communication (web RTC).
  • Guidance & training will be provided.

  • Hands-on experience with developing, deploying, and running workloads on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Passion for security and privacy topics.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills to interact with cross-functional global teams tothrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent English language skills in communication and written.

What your day will look like

  • Understand Ubuntu, Linux, networking and services in real-world environments
  • Architect cloud infrastructure solutions like Kubernetes, Kubeflow, OpenStack, Ceph, and Spark either On-Premises or in Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Architect and integrate popular open source software such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Cassandra and NGINX
  • Help partners to offer and architect joint solutions utilizing Canonical's technologies on top of the public clouds and in the data center
  • Design and publish joint Reference Architectures and perform technical validations with various partners
  • Prepare and run onboarding sessions/workshops with various partners' teams to promote Canonical products and solutions

Our client is looking for Technical Support Service professionals to join their team in Kuala Lumpur. This role is ideal for candidates with strong technical troubleshooting skills, cloud computing expertise, and fluency in both Chinese and English. You’ll serve as a technical expert, working closely with enterprise clients to resolve issues, support cloud infrastructure, and drive product optimization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support and resolve client issues across various domains including troubleshooting, event management, and platform-related support.
  • Act as a technical expert for key accounts—track customer requirements and bugs, and collaborate with product teams for resolution and optimization.
  • Use inspection and diagnostic tools to identify potential risks and ensure stability in customers’ critical systems.
  • Deliver enterprise-level solutions for cloud products and guide clients through their cloud migration journey via strategic planning and implementation.

Skill Requirements

  • Proficiency in at least two of the following technical domains:
  • Systems
  • Networking

  • SRE (Site Reliability Engineering)
  • Ability to resolve complex technical issues within these verticals.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cloud Computing, or related fields.
  • At least 3 years of experience in development, operations, maintenance, technical support, or solution architecture in cloud or IT environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and experience in cloud solution design and architecture implementation.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Windows OS, plus one or more of the following databases: MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting or development language (e.g., Java, C/C++, Python, Shell, Perl).
  • Strong analytical thinking, love for technology, and team collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in Chinese and English is required for both written and verbal communication.

Geographical Responsibilities: Group-wide role supporting Group Office and Local Business Units

Position Objective:

- The overarching objective of the Manager, Cloud Services is to assist in the operational performance of Group shared Public Cloud services. The role will ensure the chosen automation platforms of Shared Services are well maintained and available to the wider environment.
- The role will be responsible for fulfilling all new demands required to deliver business objectives on demand.
- The role needs to ensure that all BU demands are considered when operating shared Public Cloud Automation Platforms and build a fully integrated support model with BUs and Group.

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Assist in the operational governance of the multi-cloud environment (primarily Azure, with AliCloud and AWS footprint).
- Develop infrastructure automation using Infrastructure-As-Code tooling, predominantly Terraform.
- Develop automation playbooks mainly with Ansible.
- Collaborate with team members to identify operational improvements through automation.
- Experience with code repository technologies such as BitBucket and GitHub.
- Demonstrated experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Write scripts and develop configuration templates for cloud automation.
- Periodically perform other duties to meet operational and other requirements.
- Manage and ensure compliance of Public Cloud technologies with audit standards.
- Work with Group Technical Risk to ensure security compliance.
- Support provisioning of non-standard services not covered by service provider contracts.

Communication Requirement:

- Communicate with stakeholders including BU, Risk, Audit, IT, Security, HR, vendors like Microsoft, AWS, Ali-Cloud, IBM, BT.
- Excellent command of English for communication, reporting, and presentations.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Experience:

  • 5+ years in Cloud Engineering, with 2+ years in Cloud Automation Engineering.
  • Proven experience in Public Cloud implementation, migration, and support in a multi-site enterprise environment.
  • Certifications in Ansible, Terraform, Azure, AWS, etc.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-As-Code tools like Terraform, Ansible, Saltstack, Chef/Puppet.
  • Ability to create templates for IaC tooling.
  • Practical support experience for Enterprise Public Cloud Services and automation.
  • Regional or multinational life insurance experience is advantageous.
  • Experience in decentralized organizations influencing delivery.
