Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Python / ETL Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS Data Pipeline, and other ETL tools. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, SQL, AWS, and data pipeline management, ensuring smooth data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS Data Pipeline, and other ETL tools.
  • Implement monitoring and early detection processes for pipeline issues such as missing or lagging data.
  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, including relational databases, non-relational databases, and flat files.
  • Optimize and transform data to meet business requirements and load it into target data stores.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize performance of data pipelines for scalability and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Business Analysts to understand data requirements and implement solutions.
  • Build and maintain REST APIs for data access and integration with external systems.
  • Ensure data security and compliance best practices across all pipelines.
  • Document and test ETL processes to maintain high-quality data flows.

Required Skills:

  • Strong Python programming skills for data processing and ETL automation.
  • Proficiency in SQL and database design (relational and non-relational databases).
  • In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, and EMR.
  • Experience in building ETL pipelines on cloud-based environments (preferably AWS).
  • Hands-on experience with REST API development and integration.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Understanding of data modeling, API testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with data governance, data security, and compliance frameworks.
  • Exposure to big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer with ETL cloud experience, preferably AWS.
  • AWS or Azure certification preferred.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience building APIs.
  • Malaysian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Oil & Gas industry experience is a plus.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

  • Evangelizing security best practices, guidelines, and blueprints to the teams developing and using the Ørsted Data Ecosystem platform.
  • Improving the regulatory compliance (e.g. NIS2) of the data platform.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • Extensive experience in cloud architecture and data architecture (e.g., data lake, cloud data warehouse, Kubernetes, Kafka, cloud networks)
  • Strong grasp of fundamental architectural principles, security control standards, and how to apply these in documented designs and security measures
  • Solid experience in applying processes, risk assessment, governance, according to security information frameworks such like NIST 800-53 and government regulations (e.g. NIS2)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Python / ETL Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS Data Pipeline, and other ETLtools. Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS Data Pipeline, and other ETL tools.

Implement monitoring & early detection processes for pipeline issues such as missing data or lagging data.

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, including relational databases, non-relational databases, and flat files.

Optimize and transform data to meet business requirements and load it into target data stores.

Troubleshoot & optimize performance of data pipelines for scalability and efficiency.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled Python / ETL Data Engineer to design, develop, and optimize data pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS Data Pipeline, and other ETLtools. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Python, SQL, AWS, and datapipeline management, ensuring smooth data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain data pipelines using AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS Data Pipeline, and other ETL tools.

Implement monitoring & early detection processes for pipeline issues such as missing data or lagging data.

Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources, including relational databases, non-relational databases, and flat files.

Optimize and transform data to meet business requirements and load it into target data stores.

Troubleshoot & optimize performance of data pipelines for scalability and efficiency.

Collaborate with Data Scientists and Business Analysts to understand data requirements and implement solutions.

Build and maintain REST APIs for data access and integration with external systems.

Ensure data security & compliance best practices across all pipelines.

Document & test ETL processes to maintain high-quality data flows.

Required Skills

Strong Python programming skills for data processing and ETL automation.

Proficiency in SQL and database design (relational and non-relational databases).

In-depth knowledge of AWS services, including AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, and EMR.

Experience in building ETL pipelines on cloud-based environments (preferably AWS).

Hands-on experience with REST API development and integration.

Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and best practices.

Understanding of data modeling, API testing, and troubleshooting.

Experience with data governance, data security, and compliance frameworks.

Exposure to big data technologies like Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.

Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps practices.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years experience as Data Engineer with ETL Cloud Experience preferably AWS or Azure certification prefered

Strong Python Programming sills and experience building API

Malaysian Citizen or Permanent Resident

Oil & Gas Industry experience a plus

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent Seniority level

Join us in this role where you’ll play a key role in improving the security posture of Ørsted’s modern cloud data platform on Azure and AWS by supporting development teams, application architects, and leadership in making the right choices and prioritizations regarding security. Our Ørsted Data Ecosystem is a cloud-based data platform facilitating the collection, processing, and consumption of data from all Ørsted’s business units and making it available to analysts, data scientists, and machine learning models. As a team, we collaborate closely with leadership, application architects, and developers to continuously improve the security and compliance of the data platform. You’ll play an important role in: Shaping the way we securely extract, store, and process data from critical energy infrastructure. Crafting a secure and compliant cloud data platform spanning Azure and AWS that meets organizational and regulatory standards and policies. Translating regulatory and centrally defined security requirements into a form that is understandable and actionable for our teams. Evangelizing security best practices, guidelines, and blueprints to the teams developing and using the Ørsted Data Ecosystem platform. Improving the regulatory compliance (e.g. NIS2) of the data platform. To succeed in the role, you: Extensive experience in cloud architecture and data architecture (e.g., data lake, cloud data warehouse, Kubernetes, Kafka, cloud networks) Strong grasp of fundamental architectural principles, security control standards, and how to apply these in documented designs and security measures Solid experience in applying processes, risk assessment, governance, according to security information frameworks such like NIST 800-53 and government regulations (e.g. NIS2) Experience in securing deployments in the cloud (ideally both on Azure and AWS) Good inter-personal and communication skills that allow you to work with teams to improve their security posture while they work towards their goals.
