Role Description

Are you a dedicated and compassionate nurse who thrives in a mental health care environment? We are looking for a Staff Nurse to join our growing psychiatric clinic team, where patient care, communication, and attention to detail are top priorities. The Staff Nurse will be responsible for providing mental health nursing care, medication administration, nursing assessments, and psychiatric care services.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Nursing
• Registered Staff Nurse with valid APC.
• Punctual
• Strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• High attention to detail and organizational ability.
• Patience, empathy, and emotional resilience in dealing with mental health cases.
• Mental Health Nursing and Psychiatry skills
• Experience in Mental Health Care and Nursing
• Knowledge of Medicine and Mental Health Treatment
• Ability to work effectively in a clinical setting

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist psychiatrist during consultations and clinical procedures.
• Manage patient appointments and follow-ups effectively.
• Dispense and monitor psychiatric medications accurately.
• Update and maintain psychotropic drug book in compliance with KKM guidelines.
• Handle administrative tasks related to patient care and medication inventory.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families, with empathy and professionalism.
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team across two clinics.

Job Description :

• Provide support to plan, organize, and administer functions and activities in accordance with short- and long-term goals and objectives of the Hospital and the Professional Codes and Regulations for Nurses.

Clinical

• Implement a continuous evaluation system for the monitoring and assessment for staff to maintain their competencies.

Facilities Management

• Recommend facilities and equipment that enables the nurses to deliver good nursing care.
• Participate in the evaluation of specialized equipment and make appropriate recommendations.
• Organize yearly training on specialized equipment by vendor.

Quality Assurance

• Conduct internal quality audits with nurse managers on a regular basis as specified in KPI, to identify opportunities for improvement in the area of nursing care.
• Assist in preparation of JCI and MSQH and assigned as Chapter Champion to perform audit, training, and relevant tasks accordingly.

About the Practice
This proudly independent practice is known for delivering an excellent, personalised service to its loyal client base. They offer first-opinion care across small animal, farm animal and equine caseloads, and are supported by visiting specialists when required.
The practice is well-equipped with digital x-ray, ultrasound, Idexx and Axiom in-house lab machines, and multi-parameter monitoring equipment.

About the Role
This is a hands-on, varied role where you’ll work across both clinical and client-facing areas. Whether you’re assisting with surgeries, prepping the theatre, monitoring anaesthesia, running in-house lab tests, or helping with consults and home visits – no two days are the same.
You’ll be a key part of keeping everything running smoothly and ensuring that patients and their humans receive outstanding care.

Your Day-to-Day Might Include:
• Monitoring anaesthesia and surgical prep
• Operating and maintaining equipment (X-ray, ultrasound, lab machines)
• Providing pre- and post-operative care
• Supporting consults and home visits
• Running in-house lab tests (biochem, haematology, urinalysis, cytology)
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and patient safety
• Helping with reception and occasional admin tasks
• Mentoring students and junior staff
