Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Climate Change Associate to implement and manage our rapidly growing portfolio of emission reduction projects and corporate sustainability services globally. You will be responsible for the full project and sales cycle of each project and lead beginning from the initial due diligence to certification under international carbon and environmental attributes standards. The successful candidate will be based in Malaysia.
Responsibilities
- Emission reductions project sourcing and business development
- Familiarise with carbon and other environmental quantification standards such as the VCS, the Gold Standard, I-REC, GCC etc
- Engage in implementation and project management of emission reduction project
- Prepare project technical documentation and stakeholder consultation as per the requirements
- Conduct site visit and travel to project locations as and when required
- Maintain excellent relationships with project owners and other 3rd party stakeholders such as auditors etc.
- Engage with corporates with the aim of providing consulting services in the areas of sustainability, carbon foot-printing, GHG reduction target setting etc.,
- Review and analyze available sources of information such as CDP, news articles, internet search relevant to sourcing new corporate clients
- Learn topics such as GHG foot-printing, Science Based Targets (SBTs), Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), GRI reporting
- Directly manage or support key deliverables on corporate sustainability advisory services
- Review technical documents prepared by team members and by third-parties such as auditors, project owners and partners
- Follow internal guidelines, tools and software making sure key information and milestone remains up to date
- Establish vision, strategy, goals, and priorities for Coral Future’s project portfolio and sustainability services and proactively seek new business opportunities
- University degree in Engineering, Science, Economics or a related field or equivalent work experience (Master’s degree is a plus)
- 0-3 years of Project Management or related experience is a plus. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
- Experience in business development is a plus
- Excellent analytical, research, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to write high quality technical documents in English
- Ability to explain complex topics in simple terms to various stakeholders
- Skilled in managing timelines and targets and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally including to remote project locations
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively with key internal and external stakeholders
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced international multicultural environment

Responsibilities
- Drive and support client relationships in climate change and sustainability space.
- Support cross lines of service teams in project deliveries related to focus areas including GHG/carbon accounting and target setting, Scope 3 assessments and trainings, net zero roadmaps, decarbonization strategy, carbon markets, renewable energy certificates (RECs), climate risk and resilience, product carbon footprinting.
- Assist and support in the go-to-market of our climate related tools and services.
- Support building of scalable products and services that support continued replication efforts across our multi-sector pool of territory clients.
- Collaborate and support development of training material for climate and carbon related offerings.
- Engagement areas can include: GHG assessment & disclosure, decarbonisation strategy, net zero transformations, carbon and RE markets, climate risk assessment, target-setting (Net zero/SBTi/others), internal carbon pricing, product carbon footprinting, life cycle analysis (LCA), and others.

- Working knowledge on one or more of the following areas: GHG accounting including Scope 3 emissions assessments and training, financed emissions, decarbonization pathways, SBTi methodologies, CDP, TCFD, climate-related risk assessment, scenario modeling/analysis, internal carbon pricing, carbon markets and RE markets.
- Experience in carbon markets (carbon market project development, policies etc.) and RE markets would be highly desirable.
- Experience in related sustainability topic areas, e.g., energy transition, just transition, and sustainable supply chains are desirable, but not essential.
- Experience across broad range of sectors such as financial services, energy, utilities, manufacturing, agriculture and government would be highly desirable.
- Strong data analysis skills.

Skills and experience
Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in climate change advisory or environmental consulting.
Good working knowledge of carbon accounting standards and guidelines (ISO 14064, GHG Protocol, PCAF, ISO14067 etc.).
Working knowledge on one or more of the following areas: GHG accounting including Scope 3 emissions assessments and training, financed emissions, decarbonization pathways, SBTi methodologies, CDP, TCFD, climate-related risk assessment, scenario modeling/analysis, internal carbon pricing, carbon markets and RE markets.
Experience in carbon markets (carbon market project development, policies etc.) and RE markets would be highly desirable.
