Job Description

Teachers have the overall responsibility to prepare students for, most importantly, the real world and more immediately, the Cambridge IGCSE examination.

Core Roles and Responsibilities

  • Deliver content and facilitate coursework, discussions, and activities according to ACE EdVenture’s pedagogy and standards.
  • Contact students’ parents regularly to update them on their children’s progress in the real world, academic and behavioural aspects whether positive or negative, especially positive.
  • Attend mandatory team meetings such as Termly Tactics to stay updated on the school’s growth and evolution and convey relevant updates to students.
  • Work with Academic teams to update and upgrade curricula based on purpose and principles in the ACE DNA.
  • Set internal exam papers and deliver them in a timely manner for sufficient time to vet and print.
  • Prepare students’ report cards in a timely manner for sufficient time to vet and print.
  • Be ready to aid Heads in the preparation of materials needed in the classroom or for student progress and wellbeing.
  • Document student work/progress for tracking purposes.
  • Encourage and instil self-discipline in students.
  • Speak English at all times and ensure students do the same except during non-English language classes.
  • Handle emergencies and crises in the classroom.
  • Communicate information to leaders that could jeopardise a student’s/student safety or wellbeing with the utmost appropriateness.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to address classroom or student-specific issues.
  • Adhere to company policies that are put in place to protect and serve all stakeholders within ACE EdVenture.
  • Replace other teachers’ classes when called on.

  • Bachelor Degree in any field.
  • External experience in the corporate world in any other field.
  • Ability to present and hold an audience’s attention.
  • Strong ability to lead and influence children and teens.
  • Proactive and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

Job Summary: Chemistry Teacher to deliver engaging, high-quality lessons in Chemistry while supporting curriculum development and promoting scientific inquiry.

Purpose: As a Chemistry Teacher at AISM, you will play a vital role in upholding the school’s high standards of educational excellence. Your role involves delivering inquiry-based, concept-driven science lessons and supporting the development of a safe and effective educational environment for Middle and Senior School students.

Responsibilities:
Provide high-quality, student-centred lessons, incorporating relevant technologies to engage and support diverse learning needs.
Develop and implement teaching programs that align with AISM's curriculum standards.
Maintain a secure and positive classroom environment.
Assess student progress and provide feedback in accordance with school expectations.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum and participate in co-curricular activities.
Foster productive relationships with parents and colleagues to enhance student learning.
Engage in professional growth opportunities and demonstrate the qualities of an ‘Inspired and Passionate AISM Teacher.’
Perform additional duties as directed by the Principal or Head of School.

Knowledge & Skills:
Proven experience in teaching subjects related to ICT , but not limited to, Technology, Software Engineering, and Computing Technology
Skilled in creating differentiated and engaging learning experiences.
Familiarity with Visible Learning and/or a Culture of Thinking principles is a plus.
High standard of English communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience in leading or coaching sports or other co-curricular activities is valued.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field with a Diploma of Education.
Current Teacher Registration and relevant police checks.

Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.

  • Supporting the work of the Outdoor Education department in ensuring that all students in the High School take part in meaningful Outdoor Education experiences.
  • Overseeing the G11 Project Week experience.
  • Encouraging teachers to become involved in Outdoor Education by promoting the programme as a key element of our programme.

The Principal will contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the Campus by:

Management of Human and Other Resources:

  • Participating in the development of the High School budgets and overseeing the efficient and cost-effective use of resources.
  • Leading in the recruitment and appointment of High School teachers.
  • Delegating effectively the day-to-day operations of High School to line managers and establishing an effective mechanism to oversee operations.
  • Overseeing and supporting the Professional Learning Programme within the High School to ensure the quality of teaching and learning.
  • Participating in the review and recognition of teachers during the contract renewal process and where appropriate deal with issues of teacher performance.
  • Ensuring that all High School faculty have opportunities for professional development.

Communication:

  • Taking a leading role in communicating with parents through Principal’s Forums, weekly newsletters and other channels, both formal and informal.
  • Liaising effectively with representative groups within the College: for example, the Parents’ Association; the Student Council and other student groups.
  • Overseeing the quality of publications in the High School.

Facilities:

  • Overseeing the facilities specifically utilized by the High School and working with the Facilities and Operations Department to ensure that they are maintained to a high standard.
  • Being a member of the Campus Facilities committee (or delegating this role).

The High School Principal is the pedagogical and organisational leader of the High School. The High School Principal, working with the members of the High School Leadership Team, is responsible to the Head of UWCSEA Dover for the learning programme within the High School.
