Operations Manager – Chemical Manufacturing Unit (20+ Person Team)
Starting Salary Range is $115,000+
Production Bonus Eligible
Lead a self-contained manufacturing unit with full responsibility for safety, output, team, budget, and technical decision-making.
3V Sigma USA is seeking an experienced and drivenOperations Manager to lead one of our six chemical manufacturing units at our Georgetown, South Carolina facility. In this key leadership role, you will oversee a 20+ person production team with full responsibility for daily operations, safety, process efficiency, equipment utilization, and product quality. You’ll partner across departments to drive continuous improvement, maintain ISO and EFfCI compliance, and ensure timely, cost-effective manufacturing that meets customer and regulatory expectations. This is a hands-on, on-site leadership position offering strong technical engagement and full unit ownership in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Onsite | Georgetown, SC (Between Charleston & Myrtle Beach)
3V Sigma USA is seeking a highly motivated and experiencedOperations Manager to lead one of our six chemical manufacturing units at ourGeorgetown, South Carolina facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for driving safe, efficient, and high-quality production ofpowder thickeners , while ensuring full compliance withISO 9001 standards and customer specifications. You'll have full ownership of daily operations, production output, team leadership, equipment oversight, and cross-functional coordination.
Please Note : This is afully onsite role withno remote or hybrid work options available.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations of a chemical manufacturing unit with direct accountability for production output, team performance, and chemical product quality.
- Manage a 20+ person team producingpowder thickeners in a fast-paced batch manufacturing environment.
- Ensure compliance withISO 9001 , internal quality systems, and customer specifications.
- Oversee hands-on production processes and optimize performance usingSPC, SQC , andGantt-based tracking systems .
- Troubleshoot and improve the use ofreactors, dryers, hoppers, conveying systems, packaging systems , and utility systems includinghot oil systems, chillers, cryogenic systems , andheat exchangers .
- Lead investigations and corrective actions forOOS ,CAPA , anddeviation events .
- Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, cost control, and housekeeping.
- Collaborate across departments includingQA, Engineering, EHS, Technology, Logistics, and Maintenance .
- Participate inManagement of Change (MOC) ,HAZOP reviews , and safety initiatives.
- Support employee training, evaluations, and accountability within the production unit.
- Bachelor’s degree inChemical Engineering , Chemistry, or related technical field preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in industrialchemical manufacturing , ideally in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong working knowledge ofchemical processing equipment and utility systems (reactors, dryers, hoppers, conveyors, hot oil, chillers, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience withISO 9001 ,chemical quality systems , and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA).
- Proven leadership skills in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to guide teams, manage output, and solve problems in real-time.
- Experience withprocess optimization ,preventive maintenance , and cross-department collaboration.
Location & Schedule
- Location : Onsite at ourGeorgetown, SC chemical manufacturing campus
- (Located on the coast between Charleston and Myrtle Beach)
- Work Schedule : Monday–Friday, minimum40+ hours/week
- On-call availability required based on production needs

Job Description
As the COO, you will lead and oversee all commercial and operational aspects of the manufacturing plant, including people management and strategic projects. This role carries full P&L responsibility and is accountable for the overall success and growth of the business. Among the many responsibilities some are listed below:
- Holding full P&L responsibility & Annual Budget preparation besides overseeing other departments like Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain, Production, Finance, HR etc
- Develop and execute the company's business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and stakeholders
- Planning, coordinating, directing and supervising the entire day-to-day operations of production, maintenance, quality and deliveries.
- Organizing and managing conditions of production to meet production and organizational goals.
- Provide strategic advice to the board and senior management so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company's future
- Plan cost-effective operations and market development activities
- Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated
- Maintain trusting relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities

- Ensure all products are produced within customers formula specifications and quality control standard
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate will be confident in leading the business and steering the company to the most profitable position while implementing its vision, mission and long term goals. It's critical you have an all rounded experience in operations, supply chain, commercial and financial acumen and must possess the requirements below:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or Professional Degree in Engineering
- At least 20 years of experience in managing a fast-paced manufacturing environment, including 3-5 years in a senior leadership role such as MD, CEO, COO, or General Manager. Prior experience in chemical manufacturing is highly preferred
- Demonstrable experience in developing strategic and business plans
- Thorough knowledge of market changes and forces that influence the company
- Excellent organisational, communication (English & BM) & interpersonal skills
- Active leadership skills, good team player and able to be hands on whenever needed to

As a Lead Operation Specialist - Upstream Chemical, you will be responsible for:
- Managing and overseeing all aspects of production chemistry supply and service contracts to ensure successful delivery to our customers
- Providing on-site technical guidance and support for production operations, process engineering, commercial and operational queries
- Monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing of chemical treatment programs to provide support to the production operations group
- Preparing of technical reviews and proposals of new chemical solutions to share with our customers
- Organizing routine production chemical reviews and selection activities to verify changing customer needs
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering, Chemistry Science or related fields
- Have at least 5 years of experience in Upstream Production Chemicals Application & Operations
- Have knowledge in process optimization and production chemistry.
- Has onshore / offshore operation experience.
- Be a self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to solving problems and providing resolutions
- Demonstrate computer skills and be familiar with MS Office
- Have client and team management experience

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Process Manager to lead the development, implementation, and optimization of business processes across the organization. This role is also open to senior engineers who are ready to take on the challenge of stepping into management. The ideal candidate will leverage data and best practices to streamline workflows, increase efficiency, and drive continuous improvement on yield, scrap reduction, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing processes across departments to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement. Trouble shooting problems with facts and data.
- Design, document, and implement optimized business processes using methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or BPM.
- Lead and manage process improvement projects, ensuring timely delivery of measurable results.
- Define and track KPIs to evaluate process performance and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, productions, engineering, quality…etc to ensure smooth process integration and execution.
- Provide training, coaching, and change management support to teams adopting new or revised processes.
- Create and maintain detailed process documentation, workflows, SOPs, control plan, PFMEA, and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering related or Operations Management. Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3~5+ years of experience in process improvement , business analysis, or operations management.
- Proven experience leading cross-functional projects and managing change initiatives, leading CIP and cost down, as well as production issue analysis.
- Strong knowledge of process improvement tools and methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma).
- Proficiency in process mapping tools (e.g., Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart) and data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
- Exceptional communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant certifications (Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, PMP, CBPP) are a plus.

- Candidate must possess at least a Technical Certificate / Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent.
- At least 1-2 year(s) of hands-on working experience in production machine operational & maintenance activities is required for this position, preferably in Medical Device industry .
- Have similar experience working in cleanroom environment .
- Able to work in a team under minimum supervision.
- Proactive and resourceful.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

As a Manager I supporting Process Engineering , you will be primarily responsible for leading a team to design, develop, and implement efficient production processes, ensuring productivity and compliance with regulations at Johor, Malaysia . In this role, a typical day will include:
Lead the calibration team to provide calibration support for all equipment, machinery and instrument in the plant to ensure all registered items remain in calibrated state
Perform calibration datasheet/ certificate review, IMTE registration and support ad-hoc calibration activities.
Arrange and monitor 3rd party calibration activities such as request quotation, raise purchase requisition (PR), follow up PO progress, service request report closure, shipment progress, arrange schedule for on-site calibration job and deal with vendor for any calibration issues
Lead improvement projects for continuous improvement such as cost savings, process optimization and improve process efficiency
Investigate persistent quality issues of the calibration process, IMTE and provide appropriate Corrective/ Preventive actions
Assist Manager for yearly budget planning, monitor department spending and ensure on time submission of monthly forecast spending to Finance in monthly basis
To be responsible for training (eg SOP, annual refresher), Initial Qualification/ Requalification, annual curricula review and coordination with QA Compliance
Establish and ensure SOPs and documentation are compliance with Data Integrity, OSHA, ISO 13485, GxP, and other applicable international regulations
Adherence to Alcon values and behaviors, observe and ensure full compliance with Alcon Code of Business Conducts, and Alcon Health, Safety and Environment Standards
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Education: Degree in Engineering, Science or Manufacturing fields or
Diploma in Engineering, Science or Manufacturing fields with minimum 10 years of experience in calibration or manufacturing environment
8 years of experience in managing team of engineers and technicians to lead calibration activities in manufacturing environment
