Data Center Operations designs, installs and maintains the world's largest Computing Infrastructure. Our scope of work includes systems, repairing, dealing with issues, handling and tracking parts and assisting in Data Center maintenance. Amazon Data Centers are large-scale high-density centers where you will help change the face of Technology in the region.
Key job responsibilities
In this role as a Data Center Operations Technician, you will be responsible for the on-site management of hardware lifecycle of our IT infrastructure that includes:
- You will troubleshoot technical issues on advanced hardware, ranging from servers, storage and networking devices so they operate on a 24/7 basis.
- You will maintain a high level of system reliability and availability.
- You will participate in projects to enhance operational efficiencies with opportunities to share experiences and knowledge with our global network of technical experts.
- You will share knowledge and help train less technical staff on the best practices related to all service owner issues.
- You will contribute towards building a great team by getting involved in the Amazon hiring process/candidate interviews.
- You will work and meet SLAs against assigned trouble tickets via a directed workflow, be the first line touch point for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
- You will perform on-call duties and will participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
- You will participate in team meetings for metric analysis and to discuss achieving daily/weekly goals.

- You will perform on-call duties and will participate in Data Center operations, handling scheduled maintenance and change management activities that require monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
- Show a strong aptitude for troubleshooting and problem solving
- You will be involved with site management and maintain tidiness in operation areas
- Your role involves covering 24x7 shift rotation

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of industry work experience
- Min. Diploma or Bachelor's degree education in relevant field
- Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment & troubleshooting methodologies

As a member of the Cloud Hardware support organization, you will be responsible for leading a team of Datacenter Technicians and/or Field Engineers assigned for delivery of on-site support, installations, proactive services in a defined territory and/or data center sites. Focuses to meet the required service levels 24x7, improve and drive customer satisfaction, identify business opportunities and mitigate any operation gaps. The role involves significant communication at all levels internally and externally. A primary point of contact responsible for facilitating and providing advice and assistance on diverse situations and escalated issues.
**Responsibilities**
+ Providing leadership, direction, and operational excellence within sites/territory
+ Translates organisation goals into performance objectives for each team member and measures individual performance against plan.
+ Develops employees through regular 1:1s, performance reviews, development, and training needs.
+ Master all service delivery/operation related processes and advises team members on the effective and efficient way to use Oracle services and products, tools, interfaces and procedures.
+ Responsible for KPI and metrics improvement.
+ Reacting to and managing any incidents/escalation that occur, driving resolution and after-action analysis.
+ Working at a global level with peers to achieve consistency.
+ Coaching and mentoring individual contributors across the organization
+ Primary point of contact for customers and Oracle LOBs for any customer situation and escalated issue.

Working knowledge of a wide array of technology systems, tools and utilities and how they function with one another in a large Enterprise Datacenter environment. Proficiency in VMware vSphere, Hyper‑V, or other virtualization platforms. Experience with AWS Cloud infrastructure monitoring and support. Familiar with some network monitoring tools (ThousandEyes, Solarwinds, NNMI, Dynatrace, Splunk, etc). Experience with Windows / Unix Server operating systems. Understanding of core infrastructure services: Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy. Ability to learn new technologies quickly. Working knowledge of Incident Management & High Priority Case Management. Experience in working in a globalized IT services environment. **Your day at NTT DATA**
**As a Data Centre Operation Technician, you are the first line of defense against all operational threats of our data centres. You form the backbone of our operations team to ensure that our facilities are operational 24/7.**
**At the frontline, our shift team is tasked with managing and operating all mission critical systems in our data centres. To achieve maximum uptime of our equipment, inspect and maintain them with utmost care. We are also the first responders to any incident that may put the performance of our facilities at risk.**
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Daily monitoring of Environment Monitoring System including but not limited to: chiller cooling system, water pumps, cooling towers, AHU units, CRAH units, FCU units, water leak detection, fire ala
+ rm systems, VESDA, smoke detector (raised floor/ceiling) HV/LV switch rooms, Transformers, UPS system, Generators, Power Distribution Units, etc.
+ Ensure Data Hall collocation temperature and humidity are within range.
+ Response and attend to equipment alarm on site.
+ Troubleshoot abnormal incident / fault based on SOP&EOP.
+ Escalated/update accordingly any severity event occurred according to the process and procedures.
+ Escorting and overseeing vendor to ensure data center activities and service are carry out properly and compliance with all safety procedures as well as utilization of protective equipment. Ensuring all work rendered are in adherence to Company policies and contract agreement.
+ Monthly/Weekly Electrical and Mechanical system consumption report data trending logging and ensuring timely submission of relevant reports on agreed timing such as monthly basis as required under the requirement of our MSA with customer.
+ Assist in maintaining up to date drawings, asset and inventory management.
+ Monitor incoming tickets for processing and provide support to clients/users from the ticketing portal or via email and respond based on SLA.
+ Conduct daily task as per assigned including but not limited to server tape insertion, remote hand support, etc
+ Involve in DC related audit process.
+ **Requirements:**
+ At least 1 Year of experience in maintenance or facilities functions.
+ Able to perform alternate 12-hour shift (9am to 9pm, 9pm to 9am)
+ Malaysian citizen.
+ Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree/Vocational in Computer Science or equivalent.
+ Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin is added advantage.
+ Positive attitude
+ Willingness to commute to Cyberjaya
