Responsibilities

• Prepare clear and accurate detailed design calculations and analyses including design reports and procedures

• Prepare estimates for bid proposals, including technical query reviews, execution statements, and manhour estimates
• Raise technical queries to obtain missing information, clarify work scope, and maintain procedures and requirements
• Prepare, review, and (as Lead Engineer) approve Discipline engineering design basis, philosophies, and technical specifications
• Participate in finalizing deliverables lists and deliverables
• Review project schedule and fabrication schedule about construction sequence, milestones, and engineering scope
• Attend project kickoff and review meetings, vendor meetings, engineering meetings, and offshore site surveys as required
• Provide technical direction and review of Designers producing products related to Telecom Engineering
• Prepare, review, and (as Lead Engineer) approve design reports and procedures
• Assist in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them to proceed with their deliverables
• Assist procurement personnel in procuring Discipline equipment, materials, and services; ensuring that work produced complies with Customer objectives and procedures
• Assist in updating weight reports based on receipt of vendor information
• Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve vendor and subcontractor submittals, checks for compliance with project specifications
• Review and (as Lead Engineer) approve design verification through single-discipline check / inter-discipline check (IDC)
• Provide technical support to fabrication queries, including identifying defect/rectification requirements
• Keep the Discipline Manager and Project Management Team apprised of all activities and concerns

• Prepare bids and project Discipline engineering budget and execution plans
• Identify project staff needs based on engineers' skill sets and provide requests to the Discipline manager
• Plan, organize, and assign tasks, responsibilities, and manhour budgets to the discipline team
• Plan Discipline Level 4 detail deliverable schedule/register
• Prepare working forecasts identifying change management plans and schedules
• Provide inputs for actual planning progress and productivity
• Alert the project team of deviations or need for a change order
• Monitor KPI results and take corrective action
• Coordinate with other Discipline Lead Engineers to ensure timely inputs
• Review and approve requisitions, technical quotations, and vendor documents with Procurement

• Review Customer and agency comments on documents and resolve updates

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (Master's Degree is preferred)
• 15-20 years of experience in oil and gas with major contractors or consultants predominantly performing detail design
• Detailed knowledge of design techniques and analysis methods, and knowledge of standards, codes and guidelines as applicable
• Knowledgeable in project coordination and execution skills
• Preferably Registered Professional Engineer or member of a professional engineering society
• Knowledge of Functional Safety (IEC 61508/61511)

We are currently seeking a Senior Telecom Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur.

Successful candidates will be offered Fixed Term Contract.

About us

Assist the HOD in ensuring good quality design outputs, as per the relevant procedures.

Produce the agreed deliverables as per the project requirement and schedules in a cost-effective manner.

Provide manhour and material cost estimates for proposals.

Develop other more junior personnels skill by providing on the job training and appraising their performance.

Provide advice and check work in his fields of expertise when required.

When assigned as a Lead Engineer on a project, the additional responsibilities are:

Advise the HOD the manpower and skill levels required, to ensure smooth execution of the project.

Assign work to the project team appropriately.

Liaise with other departments, clients and third parties as required by the project.

Be overall responsible for the quality of the work produced.

Ensures timely approval of engineering and requisitioning documents from the client as well as timely technical and economical definition of change orders and claims.

Prepare updates and review specifications and calculations for detailed engineering.

Contributes to optimization of material quantities by proposing value engineering solutions.

Ensures contractual technical specifications are met by the Vendors

Adheres to the committed man/hours and budget.

Ensures timely internal and external reporting on engineering activities to the Lead.

Meets quality objectives of the project.

Possesses good technical knowhow and well versed with design Codes and Standards

Interfaces with other disciplines and project support functions such as procurement and planning.

Provides guidance and mentoring to more junior engineering employees

About You

The Candidate shall possess a Bachelor degree in Telecommunication/Electronic Engineering accredited by Board of Engineer Malaysia or approved equivalent.

For Senior engineer, Possess at least minimum 10 years of Telecommunication engineering design experiences in onshore / offshore application.

For Lead Engineer, Possess at least minimum 12 years of post-graduate experience in similar Telecommunication engineering design experiences for onshore / offshore application.

Preferably registered Professional Engineer (PE) with local board or approved equivalent.

Be willing to travel and stationed at various Engineering Operating Centers / Client Office on needs basis (for overseas assignment).

APAC Talent Acquisition Lead at Cognizant

JOB PURPOSE :

This service is responsible for Network & Security operations. Supporting Security baselining, Firewalls, VPN, Data Center, Campus LAN, Wi-Fi & WAN. This service requires to work with the rest of network peers globally. Candidate must be familiar with Network Firewalls, Security products, Network segmentation – particularly in financial services institution, on complex multi-tenant infrastructure. Exposure to Public Cloud network and on prem private cloud environments is an advantage. The candidate should possess excellent collaboration and team player expertise, pleasant personality, and a fast learner to adapt for dynamic changes.

Responsibilities

• Support Network & Security operations, baselining and incident response.
• Collaborate with global network peers and cross-functional teams.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing, switching, and security devices (Firewalls, VPN, Web Proxy, Cisco ISE, IPS, etc.).
• Manage campus LAN, wireless networks (Cisco WLC, Aironet APs) including implementation, refresh and troubleshooting.
• Handle data center products (Cisco Nexus, ACI) and related technologies; participate in OS upgrades and hardware refreshes.
• Manage IP addressing, DHCP, DNS, and IPAM tools; monitor with SNMP and API-based tools (LogicMonitor, SolarWinds, NetScout).
• Support ITIL processes: service requests, changes, problem and incident handling; document procedures and network diagrams.
• Experience with public/private cloud networking (VMware NSX-T, SDN) is an advantage.

Qualifications

• University Degree / Diploma from a reputed institution.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in network support within a sizable organization.
• Technical expertise in sizable network implementation and support; hands-on experience required.
• CCNA / CCNP or equivalent expertise.
• Certifications from leading product vendors (e.g., Palo Alto, F5, Check Point).
• English environment mandatory.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP and networking protocols; hands-on experience in routing & switching.
• Experience with security products: firewalls, VPN, web proxy, Cisco ISE, IPS; Palo Alto experience advantageous.
• Experience with security management tools (AlgoSec Firewall Analyzer, Fireflow).
• Experience with campus LAN and wireless networks; Cisco WLC, Aironet APs; troubleshooting complex wireless issues.
• Experience with data center products and SDN technologies; NSX-T advantageous.
• Experience with ITIL processes and documentation.
