We are currently seeking a Senior Material Handling Engineer to join our Piping team based in Kuala Lumpur.
About the role
Determining and coordinating interfaces, liaising with client, site personnel and other engineering disciplines to facilitate design activities.
Supervising and managing personnel, piping design activities, planning and preparing contract documentation.
Reviewing and checking documentation, ensuring deliverables are produced on time and within job constraints.
Achieving schedule and producing a quality product, meeting or exceeding project expectations.
Main Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive material handling strategies for onshore plant, equipment, and materials, ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective logistics. Establish handling procedures aligned with project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements.
Design, review, and approve handling systems, including lifting plans, slinging arrangements, and transportation methods for heavy and oversized equipment. Ensure handling systems are compatible with FPSO design and installation constraints.
Plan and coordinate lifting, transportation, and installation activities for large modules, equipment, and materials.
Conduct risk assessments related to material handling activities and implement safety procedures to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
Specify, evaluate, and recommend handling equipment (cranes, lifts, transporters, etc.). Support procurement activities, ensuring equipment meets project requirements and safety standards.
Prepare and review handling procedures, lifting plans, risk assessments, and method statements. Ensure all handling activities comply with project specifications, international standards, and safety regulations.
Plan and oversee handling activities during fabrication, transportation, offshore installation, and commissioning phases. Ensure handling methods are optimized for different environments and conditions.
Identify opportunities for improving handling procedures, equipment, and safety practices. Stay updated with industry best practices and incorporate innovative handling solutions.
About you
Recognised Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 10 years of working experience in Oil & Gas and Petrochemical field (especially EPC project experience).
Ability to understand Aveva 3D Tool E3D or Intergraph SP3D.
Technical competence in Material Handling and HFE.
Experience working with 3D system (SP3D/E3D).
Working experience in brownfield project.
