- An ability to synthesize information quickly as well as to identify, research and resolve unfamiliar issues

- Understanding of market opening process, expense processing, and reconciliation is a plus

Responsibilities

- The position will support a critical business unit (Global Banking – Debt Capital Markets) to accelerate and deliver strategic priorities, including assisting in the preparation of client pitching proposals, maintaining internal desk instruction manuals to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations, and preparing key materials and reports for internal reviews and senior management decision-making.
- This involves engagement and interaction with key stakeholders across Business, Product, and Risk functions, as well as the Wholesale Chief Operating Office.
- The role requires the ability to review, synthesize, and present data (including figures and commentary) to support senior management decision-making.
- A practical understanding of the Malaysian capital markets, including interest rate regimes, key economic data, and events, as well as how global financial markets influence capital raising activities by corporate issuers.
- Excellent personal and written communication skills are essential, including collaboration across multiple teams and stakeholders, and interaction with executives such as Relationship Managers and Global Markets Sales and Trading teams.
- The ability to produce high-quality work with minimal guidance, often under tight deadlines.

Role Description
This is a contract role for a Product Manager specialized in Capital Markets with Bursa project experience. The Product Manager will be responsible for managing product life cycles, developing product strategies, and coordinating with cross-functional teams. The role will involve analyzing market trends, gathering requirements, and ensuring products meet client expectations.
- Lead and manage end-to-end digital transformation/migration projects (core back office, ERP, security, DR, cloud).
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external vendors (e.g., Silverlake, AWS/Azure).
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and risk registers.
- Oversee RFP/RFQ process, vendor evaluation, and contract negotiation.
- Ensure all project deliverables meet Bursa Malaysia/SC/Banks' regulatory and cybersecurity requirements.
- Manage change management, user training, UAT, and post-go-live support.
- Conduct regular project meetings, status updates, and executive reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience in Capital Markets, particularly with Bursa projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or related.
- 7+ years of project management (preferably in capital markets/banking/fintech).
- Product management skills, including product lifecycle management and strategy development
- Strong analytical skills to analyse market trends and gather requirements
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or related field
- Experience in financial services or similar industries is a plus
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification.
- Strong knowledge of capital markets operations, Bursa Malaysia processes, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience managing IT migrations, system consolidations, and cybersecurity projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and vendor management skills.

As a Functional Business Analyst at Upskills, you will be at the forefront of analyzing and optimizing business processes for our clients in the financial industry. Your role will involve working closely with our financial institution clients to understand their business needs, analyze their current processes, and recommend solutions that leverage our fintech solutions to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of clients' business processes, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
- Work closely with clients to understand their business requirements and challenges within the financial sector.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and product managers, to design and implement technology solutions that meet the needs of our financial institution clients.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a key liaison between them and our technical teams.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in fintech and financial services to propose innovative solutions.
- Assist in the development and refinement of our product offerings by providing feedback from the field.
- Master's or Bachelor's Degree Holder, preferably in Financial Engineering, Applied Finance, Quantitative Finance, Banking, Business Analytics, or similar disciplines.
- Basic knowledge of financial products such as forwards, futures, swaps, bonds, and options.
- Proactive with the ability to deliver tasks on time.
- Solid understanding of SQL & experience with at least one well-known RDBMS such as SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase, IBM DB2, MySQL.
- Basic knowledge of scripting with Unix or Python.
- Able to communicate well in English.
- Highly committed and motivated to learn in the Financial Market.
- Previous banking experience or knowledge of Treasury Products or Treasury Systems (Murex, Calypso, SunGard, etc.) will be an advantage.

Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research, recommend creditworthiness and perform timely reviews of fixed income securities. Monitor economic indicators, financial and bond market performance and outlook.
- Assess all corporate actions, make appropriate recommendations and execute the recommendations within the stipulated timeline.
- Monitor rating actions and material corporate news of fixed income securities closely and provide impact analysis/credit views in a timely manner.
- Prepare periodic reports and ad hoc reports.
- Contribute to ongoing investment ideas and discussions.
- Work with Head of Fixed Income Research to ensure cohesive and efficient teamwork.
- Comply with the Standard Operating Manual of the department and work with Head of Fixed Income Research to update relevant investment policies and procedures.
Job Specifications:
- Preferably a degree in related areas (i.e. Investment, Accountancy, Business Economics, Finance, etc.).
- CFA/MBA would be an added advantage.
- More than 5 years of experience in fixed income research, credit evaluation and fund management.
- Proactive, organized, flexible and resourceful.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work and think independently under stressful environment.
- Good written and spoken skills in both English and Bahasa Malaysia language. Mandarin would be an added advantage.
