In this role, you will:
· Lead of Penang Product Engineering Team
· Product Continuous Improvement of In-Production Hydropanel Generations
· Collaborate with the U.S.-based technical team to achieve on-time, under-budget, and validated product solutions
· Create and conduct experiments on parts, sub-assemblies, and system prescribed by the product Validation Plan and Report (VP&R)
· Apply "fall forward" decision making when identifying appropriate risk opportunities to meet project objectives
· Contribute to a "fail fast" culture where concepts are rapidly prototyped and tested, avoiding analysis paralysis
· Engage in interdepartmental and vendor collaboration to ensure alignment of project objectives, detect constrains, and strategize solutions
· Solution concepting, CAD modeling/drawings, prototype/production sourcing, creation/execution/documentation of the product's VP&R and subsequent change control
· Present individual progress in weekly project status presentation to leadership
· Manage and design solutions for ECN requests.
· Create product configurations to consume inventory of historical product generations.
· Collaborate with the U.S. based Engineering team to design and perform validation and reliability testing in Malaysia.
· Collaborate with Supply Chain and Contract Manufacturers to vet outsourced products and processes.
REQUIREMENTS
· Hold a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or other mechanical-centric engineering discipline.
· Possess 10+ years of 3D CAD experience (SolidWorks proficiency strongly preferred).
· Demonstrated experience managing large CAD models/drawing packages from inception through ECN.
· Experienced in use of Microsoft applications, i.e., Word, Excel, Power Point, and email.
· Can generate robust mechanical CAD models and drawings, prototypes, and written reports.
· Working knowledge of a wide variety of manufacturing processes, especially injection molding, thermoforming, rapid prototyping, sheet metal fabrication (preferably high-volume stamping), casting, and machining, and the ability to effectively apply such knowledge in a fast-paced environment.
· Have excellent capacity for both logical reasoning and creative thinking as evidenced by the ability to invent, conceptualize, and abstract.
· Have a high level of personal commitment to quality, with demonstrated thoroughness and attention to detail in all phases of a project.
· Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, highlighted by a flexible and collaborative working style.
· Experience simulating flow through complex geometries using CFD (SolidWorks Simulation strongly preferred) and validating results on physical prototypes using a wide array of measuring techniques.
· Exceptional technical writing skills
· Diverse background in metrology; data logging, conditioning, and plotting
· Fabrication experience using typical shop tools and materials

POSITION SUMMARYWe are looking for an experienced, creative, high-performing, and technically centric Engineering Manager to join our team in supporting legacy and next-generation Advanced Energy products for the Semiconductor and Industrial industries within our Malaysia factory. The Engineering Manager is responsible to lead a multi-discipline product Sustaining team of RF, Match, and DC Electrical Engineers, as well as Mechanical Engineers, and coordinate with other cross functional teams to support derivative launches, legacy product updates, product testing and validation, manufacturing issue resolution, and aid/assist in launching new products on time and on budget. This position will report to a Design Engineering Director, Fort Collins CO, USA.
This position is ideal for a technical engineering leader that enjoys creating a positive coaching culture, is eager to learn new technologies, tackle complex problems, and take on diverse tasks while building a nimble and efficient Sustaining team in Malaysia. Ideal candidates will have a system engineering focus to consider the product, custom configurations, interfaces, and functionality needed to support our existing product portfolios and solve our customer’s problems. RESPONSIBILITIES- Manage new and existing platform implementation and rapid prototype derivatives for RF Generators, RF Matches and DC generators. Complete all activities for manufacturing release/readiness.
- Sustain, improve, and solve complex issues for a large product portfolio consisting of RF, Match and DC products. Create and oversee robust test plans for unit level testing, module level testing, and component level testing as required. Communicate results via technical reports to our customers.
- Communicate goals, objectives, and priorities to the team, ensuring alignment with various Plasma Power Design center Director and Manager leaders worldwide.
- Implement best practices within a cross-functional design team.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring for team members in Malaysia.
- Execute derivative programs according to the Product Development Process (PDP).
- Create and support various project documents (e.g., product requirements, design specifications, project plans, test plans).
- Communicate progress to leadership against team commitments.
- Collaborate with AE cross-functional teams as required (e.g., Operations, product management, NPI, purchasing, quality, program management, finance, safety).
- Review technology readiness and participate in Design Reviews with AE development teams for new product/platform launches.

- Works with business partners to prioritize projects for the sustaining/derivatives of RF Generators, RF Matches and DC Generators.
- Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Standard office environment and in in a fast-paced engineering/manufacturing lab environment.
- Works in standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.), also will need work in production area.
- Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand.
- Strong problem-solving skills focused on quality, cost, and delivery schedules.
- Strong background in hiring, training, growing of an Engineering team.
- Proven track record of product sustaining capabilities (component obsolescence, change control, supplier issues); rapid prototyping experience is a plus.
- Strong team player skills and attitude.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. Excellent organizational and communications skills.
- Strong written and verbal English skills are required; C1 preferred.
- 7-10 years of industry experience, preferably with switch mode power supplies, communication systems, RF. Strong analog circuitry background desired.
- Leading engineering teams using agile principles and tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project).
- Working knowledge of test and debug with lab equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, function generators, network analyzers).
- Knowledge of Gauge R&R, DFx, ECO process, and manufacturing transfer processes.
- Experience with Problem Solving tools (fishbone, Ishikawa, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (Electrical Engineering preferred).
- Master of Science Degree preferred.
