Job Summary

The Business controller is a key role to measure and report on the performance of projects. This role will work directly with all key stakeholders to create and maintain project's budget and schedule, analyze progress reported against the work schedules; and recommend actions to improve progress.

Job Description

  • Responsible for all country project related matters, including but not limited to project/entity structure, cashflow planning, reporting process, planning, budgeting, and overall strategy.
  • Develop and maintain accurate and timely project cost forecasts and actuals, prepare and issue cost analysis including recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Provide operational support such as liaising with stakeholders, tracking timelines, etc. Prepare, review, and maintain project documentation, reports, contracts and financials.
  • Support APAC process and reporting improvement effort as well as other adhoc tasks assigned, including but not limited APAC report preparation, process streamlining, data structure standardization and reporting automation etc

Requirements of This Role

  • Prior experience of at least two years as a project/business analyst/controller
  • Education: Finance/ Business/ Accounting Graduate, min 5 years’ experience
  • Core technical skills: Accounting, project controlling, financial forecasting & statistical analysis
  • Secondary technical skills (desired): financial modelling, data analytics
  • Computer literacy: Advanced excel and other reporting tools such as Power Querry, Power BI would be highly desired
  • Soft skills: analytical and problem-solving skills, proactive, good communication and presentation skills, meticulous, organized/ systematic, able to present financial information to a non-financial audience
  • Personal attributes: high integrity
  • Traits: Team player, hardworking, hands-on, confident, flexible, able to look at process improvement and has a positive learning attitude

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for producing timely and accurate financial reports to management
  • Perform relevant and accurate variance analysis of the division’s performance and results against budgeted, forecasted and historical results
  • Coordinate and direct budget and forecast preparations
  • Coordinate and organize monthly business review at both Country and Region level
  • Support and advise sales team in tender preparation while ensuring company strategic business initiatives are achievable
  • Monitor Aging Report on timely basis and improve company cash flow position
  • Coordinate and support to both internal and external audit
  • Ensure the accuracy and correctness of entries and posting performed by shared service center
  • Perform regular review and checking on accounting operations including billing, credit note issued, cost and revenue recognition
  • Constantly review and improve business processes and operations efficiency
  • Participate and provide appropriate advice on incentive and compensation management
  • Develop business processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Investigate, report, and provide solutions to management on any inconsistencies or issues arise
  • Involved in financial due diligence for merger and acquisition activities across SEA region.
  • Coordinate the provision of information to legal counsel on legal matters.
  • Report to financial controller.
  • Others relevant task where necessary.

Job Requirements:

  • Possess a bachelor’s degree in accountancy/ finance. Professional qualification will be added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and attentive to details and ability to understand and work on complex controlling, business and finance related topics.
  • Minimum 3-5 years working experience in business finance and accounting with strong commercial focus.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Good communication skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial and Business Analysis: Generate and analyze business and financial data to identify risks, support continuous growth, and inform long-term planning. This includes profitability analysis, rolling forecasts, and liquidity assessments.
  • Advisory and Strategic Support: Act as a bridge between business and finance, providing data-driven recommendations to leadership on key financial decisions. Advise on financial compliance and governance.

Key Requirements
  • Education: Higher education in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with a results-driven mindset.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with different departments.

  • Perform ad-hoc queries and supports from various counterparts when needed.

  • Assisting the Management of Finance of this organisation in other designated or non-routine tasks.

What Experience and Skills Required:

  • Possessed a bachelor’s degree in business administration/Finance/Economics.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in related field.

  • Preferably someone from Multinational Companies / Shared Service backgrounds.

  • A team player with the capability to work independently when needed. Good written and spoken English is a must.

What Experience and Skills Are Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently; excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good business acumen.
  • Proficiency with financial software (SAP), BI tools (Tableau, Power BI) is advantageous.

What You'll Responsible For: Provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis of the results of the WASM’s financial performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results to facilitate decision-making toward the achievement of the budget and strategic plan.

Maintain and develop various financial models using BI tools (Tableau, Power BI etc.) to ensure quality, accuracy and focused analytic review.

Support in finance process improvement, internal controls and risk management i.e. to share best practices and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance team.

Support business in pursuit financial targets through in-depth analysis and sharing of financial knowledge.

Provide deep finance subject matter expertise and knowledge to the project team, for specific finance area/process, identify risks, and to enable the successful assessment or implementation of ERP solution.

Perform ad-hoc queries and supports from various counterparts when needed.

Assisting the Management of Finance of this organisation in other designated or non-routine tasks.

What Experience and Skills Required: Possessed a bachelor’s degree in business administration/Finance/Economics.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in related field.

Preferably someone from Multinational Companies / Shared Service backgrounds.

A team player with the capability to work independently when needed. Good written and spoken English is a must.

Proficient in MS office applications especially MS Excel

Good analytical and problem-solving skills

Possess good business acumen.

Proficiency with financial software packages (SAP), MS office and BI tools (Tableau and/or Power BI) will be a good advantage.
