POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Data Centre Cluster Operations Manager, the Building Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the security and soft services across multiple buildings within a data centre cluster. Soft Services include: cleaning services, waste management, landscaping, pest control, handyman repairs, and all front-of-house facilities such as lifts, gates, and roller shutters. The role ensures that the data centre cluster operates smoothly and securely, providing a safe and efficient environment for all employees and visitors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Security Management:
- Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures across all buildings.
- Manage security staff and ensure all personnel are trained and compliant with security standards.
- Oversee access control systems, CCTV, and alarm systems in all buildings.
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities.
- Respond to security breaches and incidents promptly and effectively.
Cleaning Services:
- Manage the cleaning staff and ensure all areas of the facility are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
- Develop and monitor cleaning schedules and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Liaise with cleaning contractors to ensure service levels are met across all buildings.
Waste Management:
- Implement effective waste management and recycling programs for the entire data centre cluster.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and sustainability goals.
- Coordinate with waste disposal vendors for timely and efficient waste removal.
Landscaping:
- Oversee the maintenance of the facility's outdoor areas, including gardens, lawns, and green spaces.
- Manage landscaping contractors to ensure the grounds are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing across all buildings.
Pest Control:
- Implement and manage pest control measures to prevent infestations in all buildings.
- Coordinate with pest control services to conduct regular inspections and treatments.
Handyman Repairs:
- Manage a team of handymen to address minor repairs and maintenance tasks within the facility cluster.
- Ensure all repairs are carried out promptly and to a high standard.
Front-of-House Facilities:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of lifts, gates, roller shutters, and other front-of-house facilities.
- Ensure these facilities are regularly inspected and maintained to prevent downtime or malfunctions.
Vendor Management:
- Liaise with external contractors and service providers for various facility management services.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure services are delivered in accordance with agreements.
Health & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in facilities management, preferably in a data centre or similar environment.

The Job:
You will support Facility Management & Engineering department in managing resources to support the uninterrupted operations of buildings, plant, equipment and all infrastructural assets and facilities under your duty of care but also ensure the timely replacement of equipment and fixtures to prevent disruptions to users.
Your job role will include but not be limited to the following:
• Reviewing of drawing, contract documents, and liaising with government agencies, consultants, main contractors, and specialist contractors to ensure align of project requirements
• Perform inspections and testing and commissioning of the systems including following up of defects rectifications
• Developing and directing programmes to maintain buildings, systems, and equipment
• Ensuring that preventive maintenance schedules and procedures are in place and operated safely and efficiently
• To prepare and submit workplan budget costing and proposal for infrastructure renewal and improvement works
• Managing of work plans, procurement, reviewing performance targets and liaising with project consultants, contractors, and respective government authorities in the implementation of construction projects and facilities improvement works
• Managing a team responsible for facilities service requests, maintenance tracking, and coordinating with stakeholders in performance preventive maintenance and repair breakdowns. This includes overseeing site troubleshooting, investigations, and incident report submissions
• Generating and analysing reports to assist in other routine facility maintenance related projects or assignments
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Mechanical / Facilities Management with at least 3 to 6 years' experience
• Candidates with at least three (3) years of experience in Electrical Systems or Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) will be preferred
• Experience in maintenance and managing of contractors (in projects and maintenance) desirable with a minimum of three (3) years’ experience
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with healthcare staff of all levels
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
