Job Description

The Associate is an intermediate-level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Associate also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Work closely with senior bankers to provide overall relationship management support
+ Provide a wide range of treasury and corporate finance solutions, including day-to-day cash management, trade, vendor finance, foreign exchange, loans, debt capital markets (fixed income and bank), share repurchase, and interest rate and equity derivatives
+ Support bankers in cross-selling Citi's full spectrum of products and services to generate revenue by identifying and responding to customers' financial, advisory, transactional needs
+ Conduct marketing and execution activities in coordination with Bankers, Relationship Analysts and Associates, Citi's international offices and product/investment banking partners
+ Responsible for developing an understanding of all credit, transactional and franchise risks in coordination with senior coverage officers to facilitate deal execution and risk mitigation processes, including the preparation of credit approvals, obtaining Capital and Risk approvals, and supervising transaction return calculations
+ Evaluate public filings, research reports, operations, business plans and financial forecasts to produce strategic and financial analyses
+ Continuously stay informed of best practices and market and industry trends
+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
**Qualifications:**
+ 5-8 years of experience
+ MBA or Master's Degree in Business preferred
+ Proven and progressive related lending/credit experience or equivalent product experience
+ Demonstrated credit skills, including a background in credit
+ Experience with large corporate clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities products preferred
+ Comprehensive knowledge of Corporate Banking business including related products, pertinent regulations and the lending and credit approval process
+ Consistently demonstrate clear and concise written and verbal communication
+ Demonstrated planning, negotiation, organizational and analytical skills

We are looking for a Junior Developer (L3 Support) with experience in AS400 and DevOps to join our Core Banking - L3 Support team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in RPG or COBOL 400 development, experience in AS400 application onboarding to DevOps, and knowledge of CI/CD processes. This role requires troubleshooting AS400 applications, supporting production systems, and implementing DevOps automation for AS400 environments.

    You will be responsible for the end-to-end software development and support for all work transitioned from Group (focus on L3 production fixes).     + Transaction Banking ("TB") provides core banking products and services for our corporate customers.

    + Lead due diligence efforts on transactional banking products by developing and maintaining robust databases to support red-flag screening for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions compliance. Ensure transactions meet regulatory standards and risk frameworks.
    + Drive cross-sell initiatives in partnership with product teams (e.g., Transaction Banking, Treasury) to deliver tailored financial solutions that meet client needs.
    + Lead the development and execution of annual account plans, identify growth opportunities, and drive new business initiatives. Leverage market intelligence and client insights to shape strategic direction and expand wallet share.
    + Ensure timely submission of credit proposals, renewals, interim monitoring reports, deal presentation materials, and support the credit process and KYC/GRO renewal requirements.
    + Lead client meetings and prepare marketing materials for both existing and prospective clients, including risk/return assessments at both transaction and relationship levels.
    + Work closely with stakeholders to ensure adherence to internal guidelines, sales processes, and service standards, aiming to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
    **Requirements**
    + Applicant must have a recognized Degree in Economics, Finance, Accountancy, Banking, or equivalent from a recognized university.
    + Preferably a minimum of 5 years of relevant working experience, especially in Commercial or Corporate Banking.
    + Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
    + Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
    + High level of energy, enthusiasm, and motivation.

    **Responsibilities:**
    + To take charge of a mixture of credit & non- credit portfolio, attending to business promotion (loan, deposit and forex growth).
    + Monitoring & Tracking of post approval credit issues or conditions including all covenants/conditions/instructions/quarterly/half yearly and all other reports related to credit matters.
    + Initiate Credit submissions and renewals- Credit Application, Interim Monitoring, Action Plan, Condition /Instruction /Report required (C/I/R).
    + To safeguard or recover credit granted to borrowers which show signs of deterioration in business.
    + Preparation of all relevant reports to Head Office/Regional Office, Credit Examiners, Credit Advisors and Central Bank for the portfolio assigned. (where necessary)
    + To support Labuan Branch's business promotion activities by providing various assistance which may be required from time to time.
    + Perform any other task that is assigned by HOD from time to time.
    **Requirements:**
    + Applicant must have a recognized Degree in Economics, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or its equivalent from a recognized university/higher learning institution.
    + Preferably with 4-5 years of relevant working experience especially in Corp Banking Role.
    + Experience in handling corporate clients within the semi-conductor sector will be considered an advantage.
    + Applicant must be able to work independently with minimum supervision.
    + Good knowledge of banking regulatory environment, relevant laws & regulations, industry trends and products.
    + Possess good written and oral communication skills in dealing with internal employees or external customers/client.

    • Assist Regional Head IB in the planning, development and innovation of strategies and business plans to drive growth in corporate clients’ wallet share, customer portfolio, and cross-selling of CIMB Group products.
    • Assist Regional Head IB to oversee the rollout and implementation of regional investment banking business initiatives.

    • Use data analytics to keep abreast of the market landscape and key industries highlights in order to envision and create cross-regional and cross-sector business strategies and capitalise on these opportunities.
    • Assist CEO of CIMB IB to keep the Board informed of all significant financial and other relevant matters pertaining to Private Banking Investment Banking (PBIB) and Equities businesses.
    • Assist CEO of CIMB IB to enhance the profile of Investment Banking via award submissions and media releases.
    • Together with IB BPA, ensure that the annual budget of business units reporting to the office of the CEO of CIMB Investment Bank, domestic and regional, and the consolidated budget are prepared and aligned to the CIMBG financial objectives.
    • Together with IB BPA, ensure that the performance of the business units are tracked, analysed and reported at prescribed intervals to senior management and/or management committees.
    • Together with BPA, where relevant, attend to queries and requests by regulators on a timely manner.

    Key Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in the relevant discipline (Accounting/Finance/Business/Economics/Financial Engineering).
    • Minimum 5-8 years of experience in IB, finance and/or accounting-related fields.
    • In-depth knowledge of Wholesale Banking business including Investment Banking business.
    • High level of business acumen.
    • Good writing and presentation skills.
