Job Requirements & Criteria:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in software development
• Proven experience as a software engineer with a focus on Java, Spring Boot, Spring Webflux, Kafka, and MySQL database
• Strong understanding of microservices architecture and implementation
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git)
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies

The Role:

We are currently seeking a Backend Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play an integral part in helping with the development, maintenance and optimization of our client business portal, using modern technologies such as TypeScript, Nest.JS, React, TypeORM, etc. Our web-based portal - runs on top of K8s with 8 microservices + 2 SPAs behind an API gateway, allows our customers to manage the full payments flow, including FX, through an intuitive platform. You will collaborate closely with our global teams to ensure optimal solutions that enable our customers to expand across geographies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain efficient backend systems using technologies such as Node.js, NestJS, TypeORM, and PostgreSQL.
• Assist in optimizing existing backend code for improved performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers and product teams to ensure seamless end-to-end functionality and optimal user experiences.
• Create well-defined API designs for easy integration.
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and stability.
• Actively participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions.
• Design the routing of the Kong API Gateway while introducing new APIs.
