Requirements: Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in relevant field. At least 2 years of hands-on experience as an SRE, Wintel Engineer or in a similar role. Expert in scripting languages like Powershell, Python, Bash or other similar languages. Experience in Wintel platforms, On Premise is a plus. Strong understanding knowledge of networking concepts (DNS, TCP, IP, Routing) & AWS core services such as EC2, Load Balancer, VPC, SSM, CloudWatch etc. Familiarity with automation tools and frameworks such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS Lambda etc is a plus. Certifications with AWS, security or other infrastructure are advantageous. Shift rotation is required with extra compensation. Key Responsibilities

Operational Support & Monitoring

• Monitor CloudWatch alerts (EC2 health, VPC anomalies), triage issues, and escalate complex cases.
• Maintain Transit Gateway routing tables, audit cross-region connections, and generate health reports.
• Track third party dedicated line performance (latency/packet loss) and submit trend analyses.

Automation & Tooling

• Script Python/Bash utilities for log archiving (VPC Flow Logs to S3) and resource tagging.
• Use AWS SSM to automate patching, backups, and security group audits.

Security & Compliance

• Analyse VPC Flow Logs to block suspicious IPs (e.g., port scanning) and update NACL rules.
• Audit security groups, remove obsolete rules, and maintain compliance checklists.

Skills & Qualifications

Experience:

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AWS Network Engineer to join our IT team and play an important role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based network infrastructure. This position requires a strong background in cloud networking and hands-on experience in designing and implementing AWS Cloud network solutions.
**Duties and responsibilities**
+ Design, implement, and support AWS Networks, including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, and other network resources.
+ Configure and manage network services such as VPC peering, Transit Gateways, elastic load balancing, VPN Connections, Direct Connect.
+ Configure and support AWS WAF and third party firewalls
+ Collaborate with DevOps and development teams on network related issues
+ Implement and support network monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure timely detection and resolution of networking issues
+ Conduct regular network security assessments and implement best practices
+ Troubleshoot network related issues, perform root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions
+ Document network designs, configurations, and procedures, and provide support to other team members as needed.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information technology or related field
+ 5+ years of experience in implementing and supporting AWS Networks
+ AWS Certified Advanced Networking is desirable
+ Experience with networking concepts and protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
+ Hands on experience with routing protocols OSPF, BGP
+ Hands on experience with implementation and support of VPCs, TGs, VPN Gateways, AWS WAF, CloudFront
+ Experienced with network security, NACL, SG, Firewalls
+ Familiar with network automation tools and scripting (Python, powershell)
+ Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to debug complex network issues in a timely manner.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS), focusing on reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective Data Lake architecture using services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Lake Formation, and Athena.
• Administer large-scale database platforms (RDS, Redshift, EMR, DynamoDB) and perform backup/recovery, tuning, and upgrades.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and operations using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Design and operate ETL/ELT pipelines for ingesting data into the data lake.
• Ensure data quality, security, access control, and compliance for all lake-stored data.
• Ensure data platforms are highly available, backed up, and meet disaster recovery requirements.
• Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions for infrastructure, pipelines and data workloads.
• Participate in on-call rotation for cloud operations and database issue escalation.
• Work cross-functionally with data engineers, developers, and product teams to meet analytical and operational data needs.
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance and best practices are followed for data protection and cloud resource access.
  
  

How You Will Stand Out

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in cloud operations, with a focus on AWS.
• In-depth knowledge of AWS services including S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift, Athena, EMR, IAM, and CloudWatch.
• Solid hands-on experience with designing and managing Data Lake and big data analytics platforms.
• Strong experience in managing relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB).
• Strong scripting and automation skills in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiar with tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Git, etc.
• Experienced in setting up monitoring and cost optimization for AWS-based infrastructure.
• Understanding of security, encryption, data governance, and compliance best practices for public cloud data platforms.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional.
• AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or Database – Specialty.
• Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, dbt) is a plus.
• Kubernetes or containerization certification is preferred.
