The Manager of the Analyst team will support the Senior Manager in overseeing two core pillars: Optimization Analysis and Data Analysis. This role will manage and guide the team to drive strategic planning, data-driven decision-making and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with business objectives and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic and Operational Insights
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality, actionable insights for long-term planning and decision-making.
- Identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for operational and financial improvements.
- Oversee market and expansion analysis to identify optimal locations for growth and store consolidation opportunities.
- Support the creation of performance reporting, troubleshooting underperforming stores, and developing actionable insights.
- Ensure the development of BI dashboards and automation tools for improved reporting efficiency.
Cross-functional collaboration
- Work closely with head of departments, and senior leadership teams to align analytical outputs with business priorities.
- Support project and change management efforts to ensure the timely and effective delivery of optimization initiatives.
- Champion the implementation of innovative practices and frameworks across international markets.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts through regular feedback and shared insights.
- Foster a culture of shared learning, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Data Science, Statistics or related field.
- Has at least 6 years of experience in data analysis, operational optimization, or business analytics.
- Strong business acumen, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills in both written and presentation.
- Knowledge of optimization frameworks, project management methodologies, and strategic planning techniques.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, and visualization tools like Power BI/ Tableau/ Google Looker Studio.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

The Investment Wealth & Solutions Business Management provides support and services to business stakeholders and clients on project-based requests and assignments. The job holder should be precise, detailed oriented and be able to establish a strong working relationship with IWS internal business stakeholders and clients to ensure the projects and assignments are managed with highest standards of accuracy and efficiency, as per instructions within agreed business SLA (Service Level Agreement).
What you’ll do:
- Responsible for producing regular management reports and analytics to support effective decision-making and provide insights into business performance to management and various stakeholders.
- Support the management team to develop Financial Resource Plan (FRP).
- Monitor the company’s business performance and cost utilization against the FRP, provide regular updates and identify areas for improvement.
- Overview the capital adequancy for the company’s operation.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis for management’s decision making and performance management.
- Work closely with Sales Management Office (SMO) on Performance Framework for frontline staff, including KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) and performance objectives setting, sanity check on SMO’s justifications and inputs.
- Facilitate strategic projects and initiatives by collaboration with internal and external counterparts, from a data analytics point of view.
- Provide support on HCBS optimization project.
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline preferably with a recognised professional accounting qualification preferred.
- 3+ years relevant working experience in the financial sectors with exposure to business and customer analytics, management reporting, strategy, and planning.
- Ability to speak and understand Cantonese/Mandarin/English fluently, where applicable country specific language fluency required in reading Mandarin / Cantonese and written is a MUST.
- Knowledge of investment products and broking business.
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficient in common analytics and project management tools e.g., advanced user in MS Excel with VBA knowledge, MS PowerPoint, MS Access.
- Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills with both stakeholders and senior management.
- Commitment to continuous development, both personally and in others, to add value for the organization and for overall career development.
- Adaptability and flexibility to respond quickly to changing priorities.
- Self-motivated and pragmatic with ability to work independently and under pressure.
