Our client is a multinational financial services firm, with a significant footprint. Based in either Nairobi or Kuala Lumpur, this role will play a critical role in supporting their internal audit activities by providing insights through the analysis and correlation of data extracted from various systems across the business. Through advanced data analytics techniques, the role will enable the audit team to identify control failures, assess risks, and provide independent assurance to senior leadership that risks are being managed effectively and remain within the organization’s approved risk appetite.
Key analytical activities- Data profiling: Generating statistics to provide context and background on business processes.

- Exception detection: Identifying instances where known restrictions, policies, or guidelines have not been followed.

The role also supports the internal audit leadership team in assessing the overall effectiveness of risk management practices.
Scope of the roleAs part of the regional audit resource pool, the Data Analytics Manager will be responsible for:
- Applying data analytics tools such as SQL and Python to support audit teams across the full audit lifecycle, from planning through closure.
- Detecting symptoms of control failures by analyzing operational data and providing insights to audit leads.
- Developing and maintaining continuous auditing dashboards using visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI , providing clear visibility of control effectiveness across business units.
- Identifying trends and emerging themes that support the development of opinions on the organization’s overall control environment.

- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
- Hands-on technical experience mining, cleaning, and analyzing data using databases and analytics tools.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL in a relational database environment.
- Solid experience using Python for data analysis and automation.
- Experience with machine learning and predictive analytics is advantageous.

- Create strong blending data capabilities within team so that we can come up with useful client information from data very quickly
- Engage with business stakeholders cross countries and gather requirement and liaise with ETL team to get the required data preparation.
- Promote analytics driven decision making processes across multiple segments/product portfolios
- Engage and execute the dashboards on Tableau or similar visualization tools. Use historic data and generate predictive analytics.
- Explore statistical and automation tools like R, SAS, Python, and Dataiku, Alteryx for predictive and prescriptive analytics
- Engage relevant technology teams to embed advanced statistical tools
- Prepare and/or contribute to regular updates for various committees and governance forums
- Provide insights to senior management and the network based on MIS and analytics
- Highlight any perceived risks and early alerts to the management based on data analytics

The Investment Wealth & Solutions Business Management provides support and services to business stakeholders and clients on project-based requests and assignments. The job holder should be precise, detailed oriented and be able to establish a strong working relationship with IWS internal business stakeholders and clients to ensure the projects and assignments are managed with highest standards of accuracy and efficiency, as per instructions within agreed business SLA (Service Level Agreement).
What you'll do:
- Responsible for producing regular management reports and analytics to support effective decision-making and provide insights into business performance to management and various stakeholders.
- Support the management team to develop Financial Resource Plan (FRP).
- Monitor the company's business performance and cost utilization against the FRP, provide regular updates and identify areas for improvement.
- Overview the capital adequancy for the company's operation.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis for management's decision making and performance management.
- Work closely with Sales Management Office (SMO) on Performance Framework for frontline staff, including KPIs (Key Performance Indicator) and performance objectives setting, sanity check on SMO's justifications and inputs.
- Facilitate strategic projects and initiatives by collaboration with internal and external counterparts, from a data analytics point of view.
- Provide support on HCBS optimization project.
Requirements
What you will need to succeed in the role:
- University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline preferably with a recognised professional accounting qualification preferred.
- 3+ years relevant working experience in the financial sectors with exposure to business and customer analytics, management reporting, strategy, and planning.
- Ability to speak and understand Cantonese/Mandarin/English fluently, where applicable country specific language fluency required in reading Mandarin / Cantonese and written is a MUST.
- Knowledge of investment products and broking business.
- Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Proficient in common analytics and project management tools e.g., advanced user in MS Excel with VBA knowledge, MS PowerPoint, MS Access.
- Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills with both stakeholders and senior management.
- Commitment to continuous development, both personally and in others, to add value for the organization and for overall career development.
