Role Overview

  • To aid our aggressive growth plans in Malaysia, Capco is looking for strong and dynamic individual with experience. Examples of deliverables/ responsibilities include:

  • Preparing, facilitating, documenting and participating in client meetings/workshops

  • Conducting structured gathering, research and analysis
  • Developing and evaluating procedures, controls, user requirements and functional specifications to identify gaps between current state and future state
  • Creating business requirement documents (BRD's) into use cases/functional specifications for customization
  • Requirements gathering, functional requirements, user stories and documenting business/data/application/technology architectures, requirement and business rules
  • Business process models/design, logical data models, standard and guidance
  • Documenting and explaining problems and works to resolve software defects, whilst ensuring
  • technical compatibility and end user satisfaction
  • Analyzing, developing and proposing enhancements to current business processes, reports and applications in order to optimize system effectiveness
  • Conducting customer interviews and producing meeting summaries
  • Participating in development of new business opportunities: Conducting market/client research and industry analysis
  • Liaising with development team and providing clarifications on customization requirements
  • Doubling up as QA when needed
  • Producing high-quality verbal and written consulting deliverables (including proposals, customer presentations, consulting reports) to effectively communicate project findings
  • Generating re-usable intellectual capital in the form of consulting methodology and templates, blueprints and business cases
  • Basic scripting and project plans
  • Guiding Junior Business Analyst in the project delivery as a team

Experience & Skills

  • Background in one or more of the following Banking areas (Channels, Managed Solutions, Payments/ISO20022, Customer Journey, Data Management)
  • Solid Business Analyst skills, including experience interviewing client executives to gather and document business requirements and process mapping
  • Strong experience extensive experience writing successful project proposals, experience planning and documenting technology requirements, requirement analysis tools/ methodologies (e.g. RUP,UML)
  • Strong presentation skills, executing related projects
  • Language requirement: Mandarin and/or Cantonese

• Provide first level assessment to business users for production issue after implementation of system enhancements or defects rectification with the support of ISF or vendor application team.
• Assess change request to identify conflicts and dependencies against other change requests in progress.
• Coordinate on staff training on using new IT systems or enhancements.
• Focus on the business processes, driving the software requirements or help in modifying the business process once the software changes have been made.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain, analyse, and document business requirements from stakeholders through interviews, workshops and desktop study
  • Translate business requirements into clear and concise functional specification for IT / GET development teams
  • Collaborate closely with developers, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure solution meet business needs and delivered on time
  • Perform feasibility studies, impact analyses and risk assessments to support decision-making
  • Identify and propose improvements to business processes and workflows to optimise operational efficiency and effectiveness
  • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and facilitate user training sessions as needed
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for implemented systems and processes
  • Self and Peer Development:
  • Support learning development, coaching, and mentoring of peers.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends and best practices through self-learning, trainings and conferences.
  • Document and share key processes, knowledge, information, best practices, tools, techniques and lesson learnt to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in AEC, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.
  • Certification in Business Analysis (e.g. CBAP) or Project Management (e.g. PMP) is a plus
  • Minimum 2-3 years of relevant working experience
  • Proven experience as an IT Business Analyst or similar role in IT Project Management
  • Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (e.g. Agile and Waterfall)
  • Proficient in business analysis tools and techniques, such as process modelling, data modelling and requirement management tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

As a Business Analyst , you will play a central role in shaping data-driven decision-making at VAT by translating business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications. You will work closely with stakeholders across business and IT to ensure that analytics solutions are aligned with strategic goals and deliver measurable value.

You’ll be part of a global IT team spanning Malaysia, Switzerland, and Romania, collaborating across time zones and cultures. Your work will help ensure that every decision-maker at VAT has access to the right data and insights—at the right time and in the right format—to drive operational excellence and customer value.

Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain Solution Design Documents SDDs to capture, refine, and translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for data and analytics solutions.
  • Consult with business stakeholders across domains (e.g. procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, sales) to understand their needs, challenge initial requests, and propose fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, including analytics engineers, data engineers, architects and functional consultants to ensure alignment between business needs and technical implementation.
  • Support the development process by providing initial data exports, performing manual test scenarios, and conducting first-level validation of analytics solutions before business handover.
  • Educate and support key users and end users on the design, value, and intended use of analytics solutions, including clarifying limitations and preventing misinterpretation of data.
  • Contribute to agile delivery by participating in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups as part of a cross-functional team.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Data Analyst, or in a similar role within IT, data & analytics or business intelligence.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a sharp attention to detail.
  • Proven experience in gathering, refining, and documenting business requirements and translating them into clear technical specifications.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in working with data, whether through tools like Excel, scripting or programming languages, or other analytical platforms.
  • Solid understanding of core business processes e.g. finance, supply chain, sales, manufacturing and how they are supported by enterprise IT systems e.g. ERP, CRM, analytics platforms.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in SQL and Power BI, including experience with semantic models and report building.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or other ERP systems and their impact on reporting and analytics.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Fabric or similar modern data platforms.
  • Exposure to visual communication standards such as IBCS.
  • Experience in conducting user trainings and supporting solution adoption incl. change management.
  • Hands-on experience working in an agile environment, applying Scrum methodology.
  • Microsoft Certification: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300) or similar.
