Shape AI That Powers the Future of Financial Access Across Southeast Asia

As a Lead AI Engineer, you’ll play a critical role in building and scaling intelligent systems that serve millions across the region.
This is a hybrid role based in Malaysia, combining deep technical expertise with team leadership. You’ll report directly to the Head of AI, work hands-on as a senior individual contributor, and help grow a lean, high-performance AI team by mentoring, coaching, and hiring.

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 4–6 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with models deployed in production
- Strong Python skills and deep experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn)
- Solid understanding of ML lifecycles - from data pipelines and feature engineering to tuning, deployment, and monitoring
- Real-world experience building AI systems in domains like recommendation, NLP, or risk modeling
- Experience mentoring junior engineers and collaborating cross-functionally
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Based in Malaysia and open to hybrid work from our Petaling Jaya HQ
- Familiarity with MLOps tooling (MLflow, Airflow, Docker, GCP/AWS)
- Experience in responsible AI practices - fairness, explainability, and transparency
- Startup background or experience in fast-moving product teams
- Built internal AI tools, reusable components, or ML platforms

Product Lead, AI , you’ll work shoulder-to-shoulder with the founder and leadership team to turn cutting-edge ideas into real-world execution, and execution into measurable impact.
This is not a strategy-only role. It’s a high-trust, high-responsibility position for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, owns outcomes end-to-end, and has the technical and operational depth to deliver projects hands-on. You will lead AI-driven initiatives across teams, fix execution gaps, and build systems that scale – because you’re personally invested in the company’s success.

What You Will Do
i) AI Product Strategy & Delivery
Partner with the CEO and leadership to define, track, and deliver on AI-driven initiatives and OKRs Own end-to-end implementation of AI/tech projects – from planning to deployment Identify process gaps and implement AI/automation solutions that accelerate scale
ii) Hands-on Project Implementation
Roll up your sleeves to design, test, and implement AI-driven tools and workflows Ensure seamless integration of AI systems into existing company processes Work closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to deliver measurable outcomes
iii) Cross-functional Leadership Support
Coordinate cross-departmental AI initiatives, ensuring alignment and momentum Facilitate discussions, decision forums, and workshops to push projects forward Partner with department heads to surface execution blockers and drive solutions
iv) Product Ownership
Take full ownership of AI-related projects that don’t have a clear “home” Lead pilot programs and new initiatives, from ideation to execution Build scalable systems, dashboards, and processes that support long-term AI adoption

What You Bring
~5 years of experience in product management, engineering, or cross-functional leadership in a high-growth company Proven track record of hands-on project delivery – from design to execution – in tech/AI/digital systems Strong background in Computer Science, IT, or related technical field (preferred) Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with an ability to turn vision into execution Experience collaborating directly with executives on high-stakes projects Sound judgment and maturity in handling complex, sensitive, or high-pressure situations Bonus: Experience in fintech, AI-driven platforms, or founder-led companies Based in Malaysia and able to work from our HQ in Petaling Jaya as needed
