- To lecture/teach the course(s) assigned and cover the syllabi outlined for the assigned course(s) in a logical and readily understood sequence, and in accordance with students' assignment requirements.
- To assist students in the understanding of the topics covered and generally to prepare them for their final examinations.
- To guide students in the understanding of assignment requirements.
- To answer student queries on academic matters relating to the unit promptly.
- To set and mark assessments (quiz, test, assignments, examinations) for students.
- To invigilate examinations.
- To develop and update course materials as required.
- To attend staff meetings as deemed necessary by the Head of the Department.
- To give students regular guidance to assist the progress of their academic achievement.
- To counsel students on appropriate career/academic direction on completion of their course.
- To counsel at exhibition fairs which HELP participates.
- To conduct research in areas as per discussion with Head of Department and publish papers and present papers at conference.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- A PhD or Masters degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Computing.
- At least 3 years working experience as an academic.
- Experience as a programme leader and supervision at Masters and PhD level would be an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of MQA standards and regulatory requirements.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and others.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts, developers and engineers to execute projects from ideation to deployment.
- Oversee the development and deployment of machine learning algorithms, data science platforms and statistical analyses.
- Manage project timelines, sprint cycles, and backlog prioritization using agile methodologies.
- Collaborate closely with various other business units in the organization, engaging in their daily operations to comprehend existing processes, with the intention of enhancing operational efficiency within those business units.
- Ensure proper data governance, model validation, and documentation standards are followed.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or experience in related fields.
- 5+ years of experience in data science with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or lead role.
- Strong proficiency in Python & R, SQL, and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, etc.).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Quicksight).
- Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful data projects that influence business outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced agile development environment.

Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Quicksight). Excellent communication skills, both technical and non-technical. Proven track record of delivering impactful data projects that influence business outcomes. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to work in a fast-paced agile development environment. Experience with software engineering practices, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks. Familiarity with agile project management, including sprint planning, retrospectives, and using tools such as Jira or Trello. Proven experience as a Data Product Manager or working closely with product teams to shape data products and solutions. - To create and execute the data science approach to support the long term and short term business needs, which will drive tangible business outcome.
- Partnering with the Insights team to ensure delivery of analytics workplan in a timely manner with brilliant quality work.
- This role requires candidates to have a hands-on approach and be the analytics technical expert who uses large data sets and strong in applying varieties of machine learning methodology / algorithms with different data tools in developing the models, running simulations & optimization.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree / Masters in any relevant field of study is required.
- 5 years’+ data science related experience.
- Advance level in programming-based analytics with experience in two or more of the following languages:SQL / R / Python
- Proven experience in building statistical models, segmentations, predictive and propensity models (e.g. clustering, predictive models, neural network, scenario analysis, conceptual modelling, hypothesis testing).
- Good understanding of design and machine learning algorithm principles.
- Good understanding of machine learning model management principles and practices.
- Able to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary and competitive environment.
- Strong analytical skills, deductive reasoning, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
- Able to collaborate with other teams to drive positive outcomes.
- Strong business acumen and project management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Added bonus if candidate has experiences over Big Data platform (especially unstructured data) and deep learning.
