As an AI Architect within our Data & AI Practice, you'll leverage a client-centric approach to translate our client's business strategy into solutions and services that lead to successful, impactful outcomes. You'll engage in solutioning and support on the most strategic opportunities, intervene in high-risk complex deliveries, and contribute to shape the strategic direction around data architecture. What you'll do
* As an AI architect assigned to a client project, you will typically work closely with delivery teams and client stakeholders to provide technical leadership, shape deals and propositions, drive architectural decisions, create plans and roadmaps, and produce design artifacts
* Assist clients in their journey to Microsoft Azure or leverage their existing investment in it - you can expect a significant focus on applying cloud architectural patterns and migration strategies
* Play a key role in Avanade's sales process with the responsibility for shaping the high-level design, estimates, and contractual details for client proposals in collaboration with other subject matter experts in the business
* As a senior member of the Avanade technical community, you will provide coaching and mentoring to motivate and inspire more junior colleagues from within your team and across the organization
* Translate complex technical solutions and present them in different formats; to business decision makers into business outcomes, to Market in engaging video or blog format content, to internal Sales Teams in battle card format
* Engage in early conversations with the client and/or sales team and support origination and deal qualification, become the trusted advisor. Prepare and represent the solution in Deal Reviews and play an active role in Orals, Client Presentations, and negotiations discussions with key client buyers
* Complete pricing, using standard solution architecture processes, methods, estimating, and modelling tools to drive quality and minimize time to solution through process and reuse. Understand and leverage different Pricing Models and work with Sales Leads to articulate deal pricing. Ensuring a deal is both winnable and deliverable, mitigating potential risks
Skills and experiences
* Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft; Proficiency in Azure AI Services including Azure ML, Azure Cognitive Services, and Azure Bot Services; knowledge of similar services in other cloud platforms like AWS and GCP is highly regarded.
* Strong understanding of different types of ML models, including Large Language Models (LMM) and approaches to train or adapt to meet different customer requirements.
* Skill in programming with Python (must have), R, or .NET (highly regarded).
* Awareness of channels to market and how to work in a Microsoft and partner eco system to ensure Customer Success.
* High energy intent to help clients understand product and service evolution. Including Azure Open AI, Fabric and Co-Pilot
* Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Funding processes such as ECIF, GTM Solution Plays / Marketplace and GTM Workshop Offers
* Experience working with stakeholders to create technical visions, high-level architectures, and delivery roadmaps for large programs of work that involve platforming/re-platforming Data Solutions within Azure cloud, utilizing tools such as Databricks and Fabric
* Capability in creating design artifacts and presenting them for approval at architectural forums attended by multi-disciplined stakeholders from engineering to senior ("C level") client executives
* Experience in designing and delivering large-scale enterprise grade AI solutions
* Identifying and designing for key architectural characteristics such as performance, security, and reliability

Basic Qualifications

We're looking for a highly skilled and strategic **Google Data and AI Architect & Presales** professional. This role serves as a key technical advisor and strategist, bridging the gap between business objectives, cutting-edge technology strategies (specifically Google Cloud Data & AI services), and operational capabilities. The successful candidate will drive digital transformation initiatives, lead technical discussions with customers, design robust solutions, and act as a subject matter expert in the Google Cloud ecosystem. **Certification in Google Cloud is required.**
**Responsibilities**
**Solution Architecture & Design**
+ Lead the design and architecture of scalable, high-performance data platforms and AI/ML solutions using the **Google Cloud Platform (GCP)** , including services like BigQuery, Cloud Dataflow, Cloud Composer, Vertex AI, Looker, and Apigee.
+ Ensure solutions align with business objectives, technical requirements, security standards, and best practices for data governance and MLOps.
+ Develop technical roadmaps for data modernization and AI/digital transformation initiative especially GenAI and Agentic AI space.
**Presales & Technical Consulting**
+ Act as the primary technical point of contact during the presales cycle, leading technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (PoCs).
+ Assess customer requirements and pain points, translating them into compelling, well-defined technical solutions and statements of work (SOWs).
+ Collaborate closely with sales and business development teams to drive revenue and market penetration, contributing to proposal development and technical estimation.
+ Provide strategic advice to clients on cloud adoption, data architecture, and AI strategy.
+ **Local Compliance & FinOps:**
+ **Well-versed with Malaysia's regulatory landscape** for cloud, data sovereignty, and security (e.g., PDPA 2010, MAMPU, NCCP).
+ Proven experience implementing **Cloud FinOps frameworks (Inform, Optimize, Operate)** on Google Cloud, driving cost optimization and financial governance.
**Strategy & Thought Leadership**
+ Serve as a **Google Data and AI Subject Matter Expert (SME)** , staying current with GCP service updates, industry trends, and competitive landscape.
+ Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal methodologies, best practices, and knowledge sharing.
+ Ensure alignment between technology strategies and the organization's broader business and operational goals.
**Qualifications**
**Required**
+ **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
+ **Experience:** 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or AI/ML, with a significant focus on cloud solutions and presales activities.
+ **Google Cloud Expertise:** **Deep, demonstrable expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP)** , specifically in core Data & AI services (e.g., BigQuery, Dataflow, Vertex AI, Cloud Storage).
+ **Certification:** **Required certification in Google Cloud,** such as **Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer** and/or **Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect/Machine Learning Engineer** .
+ **Technical Skills:**
+ Strong proficiency in data modeling, SQL, and programming languages (e.g., Python, Scala).
+ Experience with advanced analytics, machine learning workflows (MLOps), and data governance.
+ Proven ability to lead technical workshops and communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
**Desired (Good to Have)**
+ **Azure Knowledge:** Familiarity with **Microsoft Azure** services, particularly in data and AI (e.g., Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Machine Learning), is a significant plus.
