Job Scope

The incumbent is responsible to assist the Senior Manager/Actuarial Manager 1 to define and implement appropriate actuarial standards and work processes in relation to the provision of actuarial services to the Company.

Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, analysis of the company’s claims, persistency and expense experience, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves, capital and profit reporting under various regulatory bases.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

one. Ensure the accurate and timely submission of monthly TEV New Business Reporting and Health Pillar Reporting, including Health APE & NBP, to Group and internal stakeholders. Promptly escalate any potential obstacles to the delivery of results to the relevant stakeholders.

two. Provide insight on key drivers to bridge NBP gap against target. Support finance quarterly dialogue and quarterly business plan reviews by highlighting past performance and risks & opportunities to meet Plan APE and NBP targets, including health financial metrics.

3. Support the overall end-to-end delivery of APE and NBP targets for Business Planning. Assist the Team Lead in driving the annual assumption and modelling review as part of Business Planning. Ensure appropriate checks are conducted on the financial impact analysis and prepare comprehensive documentation for other teams’ reference.

4. Perform runs on the Prophet model office incorporated with new product launched and analyze the financial output for the new products to ensure accuracy. Conduct reasonableness checks and provide explanations for any gaps observed against the Pricing model.

5. Support the implementation of reporting process enhancements and initiatives. Continuously identify opportunities to improve existing workflows and processes.

6. Provide general actuarial advice and expertise to other departments, including addressing policyholder, agent, and regulatory queries. Ensure the information provided is accurate, sufficiently detailed, easily understood by the intended audience, and addresses the issues at hand.

  • Provide guidance, training and general supervision to the Actuarial Professionals/Senior Actuarial Professional, ensuring consistent career growth and opportunities for professional development.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment by working closely with colleagues across different departments to achieve common goals. Encourage open communication, share knowledge, and support each other in the day-to-day work.


Job Specification

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics or other physical sciences or numerate discipline.
  • Actively pursuing professional actuarial examinations


Experience

  • At least 4-5 years of relevant actuarial experience


Knowledge

  • A numerate and analytical mind.
  • Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software would be preferred but training will be provided otherwise.
  • Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work under minimum supervision

Job Scope

The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Head of Business Analytics & Project in defining and implementing appropriate actuarial standards and work processes related to the provision of actuarial services to the Company.

Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, analysis of the company’s claims, persistency and expense experience, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves, capital and profit reporting under various regulatory bases.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Job Specification

Qualifications:

Experience

  • At least 6-7 years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably with financial reporting experience


Knowledge

  • Strong leadership capabilities that can lead, influence and motivate to create a high performing team

  • Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software
  • Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure

Actuarial knowledge and skills are necessary in various aspects of insurance business, e.g. product design and pricing, analysis of the company’s claims, persistency and expense experience, arrangement of reinsurance, calculation of reserves, capital and profit reporting under various regulatory bases.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the team in monthly TEV New Business Reporting and Health Pillar Reporting, including Health APE & NBP, ensuring accurate and timely submission to Group and internal stakeholders. Promptly escalate any potential obstacles to the delivery of results to the relevant stakeholders. Provide insight on key drivers to bridge NBP gap against target. Support finance quarterly dialogue and quarterly business plan reviews by highlighting past performance and risks & opportunities to meet Plan APE and NBP targets, including health financial metrics. Support the overall end-to-end delivery of APE and NBP targets for Business Planning. Assist the Head of Business Analytics & Project in driving the annual assumption and modelling review as part of Business Planning. Ensure appropriate checks are conducted on the financial impact analysis and the documentations prepared by the team are comprehensive for other teams’ reference. Interpret and communicate financial results to the Management and other internal and external stakeholders. Ensure accurate and timely production of financial output for new products launched, guided by internal governance on Prophet. Conduct reasonableness checks and provide explanations for any gaps observed against the Pricing model. Drive the implementation of reporting process enhancements and initiatives. Continuously identify opportunities to improve existing workflows and processes. Provide general actuarial advice and expertise to other departments, including addressing policyholder, agent, and regulatory queries. Ensure the information provided is accurate, sufficiently detailed, easily understood by the intended audience, and addresses the issues at hand. Provide guidance, training and general supervision to the team, ensuring consistent career growth and opportunities for professional development. Foster a collaborative team environment by working closely with colleagues across different departments to achieve common goals. Encourage open communication, share knowledge, and support each other in the day-to-day work.

Job Specification

Qualifications:

Degree in Actuarial Science/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Physics or other physical sciences or numerate discipline, with good progress in actuarial examinations

Experience

At least 6-7 years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably with financial reporting experience

Knowledge

Strong leadership capabilities that can lead, influence and motivate to create a high performing team Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Practical knowledge in Prophet (preferred) or other projection software Must be meticulous with the ability to work under pressure Must be self-motivated with the ability to work under minimum supervision

PURPOSE
Be the country focal in coordinating incoming modelling service requests and manage the development and maintenance of the centralised Actuarial models for business units (BUs). Be the project lead and manage end-to-end major projects as required by Group Actuarial / BUs. Ensure compliance with the Group Model Governance policy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Assist Senior Advisor or SME by providing technical and other general support or coaching to shared pool resources to ensure work quality is achieved accordingly
2. Support the Country Model Lead in providing the Centralised modelling services to business units by:

  • assisting the Country Model Lead in managing the development and maintenance of the centralised Actuarial models for business units, and ensure quality and on-time delivery;
  • demonstrating advanced skills in Prophet modelling in the overall end-to-end modelling process and ensure that the modelling is effectively controlled and maintained, with accurate financial results generated;
  • becoming the country focal in coordinating incoming modelling service requests. Manage updates, communication and project expectations with BUs throughout the project delivery and ensure successful implementation according to the defined Prophet modelling services;
  • exercising judgement using advanced analytical skills to perform modelling checking and regression tests, interpret, define and communicate model change impacts and mitigation actions, as well as maintain model documentations for stakeholders;
  • analysing the modelling issues and reporting findings including practical recommendations to close relevant gaps or risks. Escalate modelling issues to the Country Model Lead on a timely manner; and
  • assisting the Country model Lead in performing compliance checks and ensuring all time compliance with the Group Model Governance policy including the model documentation, modelling processes and controls.

3. Support the SME & Model Reviewer by:

  • conducting an in-depth model review on models changes made by Big 3 BUs: HK, TH, JP and any other assigned countries
  • conducting independent reviews of developed actuarial models in accordance to established governance standards, and ensure models compliance and overall controls;
  • exercising judgement using established practices and skills to perform technical review of actuarial models and validation results, and identify potential risks and issues throughout the review process; and
  • preparing finding reports on modelling review results and propose action on the outlined gaps.

4. Be the project lead and manage end-to-end major projects for Actuarial services including but not limited to developing and maintaining ALS model for asset and liability management, economic capital (EC), HKRBC reporting, IFRS17 and any other assignment from Group Actuarial
5. Process the major requests/incidents, while guiding juniors on their BAU incidents for Prophet Enterprise and related calculation engines on

  • Nearly fellowship member of an internationally recognised actuarial professional body


KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Strong Prophet modelling skills, knowledge on Prophet ALS is preferred
  • Good understanding of valuation processes under USGAAP, statutory and traditional EV, knowledges on EC/RBC and IFRS17 are preferred

  • Prior experience in risk reviews or risk-based audits is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of financial markets, CFDs, Forex, or cryptocurrency trading.
  • Familiarity with MT4, MT5, cTrader, or other trading platforms (preferred).
  • Knowledge or experience in equity or futures trading is preferred.
  • Familiarity with trading platforms is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
  • Fluency in Mandarin and English (spoken and written) to support Mandarin-speaking clients.

Prior experience in risk reviews or risk-based audits is essential. Strong knowledge of financial markets, CFDs, Forex, or cryptocurrency trading. Familiarity with MT4, MT5, cTrader, or other trading platforms (preferred). Knowledge or experience in equity or futures trading is preferred. Familiarity with trading platforms is an added advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, for data analysis and reporting.   • To review the adequacy and effectiveness of rating system processes, the oversight structure and control procedures to ensure the applicability and proper application of the quantitative methods in practice. The review covers model design / rating systems documentation, data quality, governance and control as well as internal use of rating (Qualitative Validation).
  • To review model developmental evidence, outcome analysis and back-testing using the data gained during practical operations of the model while comparison or benchmark data can be included as a supplement (Quantitative Validation).
  • To independently validate prior to implementation and adoption of the new / re-calibrated models for quality assurance.
  • Supervise and perform tracking, monitoring and reporting progress on Outstanding Issues by relevant parties such as risk modeling, credit risk, business units, etc. pertaining to all validated models.
  • Continuous enhancement of model validation methodologies or techniques.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree - University degree or equivalent in the field of Statistics, Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance or Accounting and Finance is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years of credit experience in risk management or model development or model validation.
  • Preferably with experiences in risk management.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Good statistical modeling skills.
  • Good communications and writing skills.
  • Programming skills in SAS would be an added advantage.

Job Description

The Head of Risk Management is responsible for leading PayNet’s enterprise risk strategy, with a dual focus on internal risk exposure and risks arising from the broader financial ecosystem. This includes managing threats introduced by participants, vendors, shared infrastructure dependencies, and emerging systemic risks that may impact PayNet’s operations, reputation, or service and system availability.

Responsibilities

Strategic Risk Leadership

  • Lead the Risk Management Division, formulating and executing a comprehensive risk strategy that encompasses both internal enterprise risks and external ecosystem risks.
  • Identify and assess emerging risks that may impact PayNet's strategic direction or long-term sustainability.
  • Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership and the Board on emerging risk trends, systemic vulnerabilities, risk appetite & tolerance capacities, and risk resilience & mitigation priorities.

Enterprise and Operational Risk Management

  • Oversee the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of internal risks across business lines, systems, infrastructure, and key processes.
  • Establish and maintain risk management systems and tools, including Governance, Risk & Compliance systems, risk & control registers, scenario models, and key risk indicators that reflect both internal controls and ecosystem dependencies.
  • Drive root-cause analysis of risk events and implement lessons learned to prevent recurrence and strengthen controls.

Business Continuity and Crisis Management

  • Lead PayNet’s enterprise efforts in business continuity management (BCM), crisis preparedness, and recovery planning, including key considerations on sector-wide dependencies and real-time payment operations.
  • Collaborate closely with the Technology and Cyber Security teams to anticipate and evaluate emerging threats—including cyber disruptions, coordinated fraud attacks, technology failures, and reputational shocks—and design appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal compliance, technology, product, and operational teams to ensure risk frameworks are robust and forward-looking.

Ecosystem and Interconnected Risk Oversight

  • Identify and monitor risks introduced by PayNet’s ecosystem—banks, e-wallets, merchant acquirers, third-party processors, etc. — whose risk could potentially directly or indirectly impact the reputation and resilience of PayNet’s services.
  • Develop frameworks to assess the risk profiles of participants and 3rd party providers, including incident spillover, concentration risks, and interdependencies.
  • Engage proactively with ecosystem stakeholders to strengthen shared resilience, service continuity, and coordinated risk responses.

Risk Culture and Capability Building

  • Champion a risk-conscious culture across the organization, embedding accountability and ownership at all levels.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing risk team, equipping them with tools and methodologies to support advanced risk analytics, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Promote continuous improvement in risk processes through automation, data-driven insights, and strategic alignment with business priorities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in risk management, with significant experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale risk management initiatives and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and strategic thinking skills.
