In 2004, Acrelec revolutionized the restaurant industry by pioneering the self-order kiosk with McDonald's in France. JOB SUMMARY
The Accounts Payable Lead / AP will manage the accounts' payable function including bill entry and matching, vendor statement reconciliation, GRNI reconciliation, AP KPI maintenance, 1099's, sales and use tax filings and reconciliations, Fixed Assets and month end tasks related to accounts payable. Prior experience of working in an ERP system such as NetSuite is advantageous to onboarding in this important position. The position reports to the Controller.


Key Responsibilities
  • Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs.
  • Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors.
  • Analyzing AP workflow processes.
  • Reconcile GRNI and lntercompany AP
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors. Monthly
  • Overseeing the processing of due invoices for payments.
  • Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges.
  • Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts.
  • Evaluates capital expenditures and depreciation.
  • Sales and Use Tax experience - Canada sales tax is a plus
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • Two years or more of related experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.
  • Oracle netsuite knowledge is advantageous but not a must
  • Previous experience of maintaining excellence through KPl's that measure AP activities.
  • Ability to consistently meet all deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Efficient & quick learner.

About The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Financial Reporting Manager to join our Group Finance team at RHB Banking Group. Your Challenges

  • Lead Financial Planning & Reporting Excellence: Deliver timely and accurate financial statements, management accounts, group consolidated reports and regulatory returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support Strategic Financial Decision-Making: Work closely with senior leadership to develop commercial analysis, refine forecasting models, and contribute to thoughtful capital allocation strategies that align with the company’s evolving growth plans.
  • Strengthen Controls & Compliance: Design, implement, and monitor robust financial controls and governance frameworks while ensuring alignment with global accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies in a dynamic, multi-jurisdictional environment.
  • Advance Efficiency Through Automation: Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes by integrating AI tools and automation, improving accuracy, transparency, and speed of financial insight.
  • Mentor & Lead a High-Performing Team: Build and develop a team of finance professionals capable of scaling with the business and adapting to evolving global requirements.
  • Oversee Multi-Entity Operations: Manage liquidity, cash flow monitoring, reconciliations, and cross-border financial operations, ensuring alignment across regional teams and functions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience
  • Managing a large finance team of 35 to 40 members.
  • Deep knowledge of international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS), tax regulations, and best practices
  • Demonstrated expertise in complex financial reporting processes, consolidations, and control systems
  • Proficiency in financial management systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Oracle NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with strategic thinking
  • Exceptional leadership, organisational, and communication skills
  • A recognised professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) is a plus
  • Exposure to investor-facing or audit-heavy roles in a plus

Job Description

This job is for an Accountant focused on financial reporting and payables. You might like this role because you'll help prepare financial statements, manage vendor payments, and collaborate with teams to ensure smooth processes.

  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely posting of financial transactions.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., MFRS, IFRS).
  • Support statutory reporting and tax filings in coordination with external advisors.
  • Assist in consolidating onboard and shore-side financial data for group reporting.
  • Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Accounts Payable Management

  • Process vendor invoices, verify supporting documentation, and ensure timely payments.
  • Monitor aging reports and manage payment cycles in line with cash flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate with procurement and operations teams to validate goods/services received.
  • Maintain vendor master data and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Support onboarding of new vendors and ensure tax documentation is complete (e.g., SST, WHT).

SOP Development & Process Documentation

  • Draft Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for financial accounting, reporting, and payables workflows.
  • Submit SOPs for review and approval by the Finance Manager.
  • Ensure SOPs are updated and aligned with regulatory and operational requirements.

Compliance & Audit Support

  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and financial policies.
  • Support internal and external audits with required documentation and schedules.
  • Assist in risk mitigation and compliance reviews for Southeast Asia jurisdictions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Liaise with onboard finance teams, HR, procurement, and IT to ensure data accuracy and process alignment.
  • Provide financial data and insights to support operational decision-making.
  • Participate in finance system integration and testing (e.g., ERP, PMS interfaces).

General Finance Support

  • Perform finance-related tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations.
Job Requirements

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

● Minimum 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting and payables, preferably in hospitality, maritime, or multinational environments.

● Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, SunSystems, Odoo) and financial reporting tools.

● Knowledge of Malaysian and Southeast Asian statutory requirements (e.g., SST, WHT, audit standards).

● Experience with cruise operations is an advantage.

● Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.

● Excellent organizational and time management skills.

● Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.

● Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
