This job is for a Sales Engineer at Bukku, a popular cloud accounting software used by thousands of businesses. You might like this job because it combines tech know-how with helping clients succeed through product demos and personalized support.

Bukku is a well-funded and fast-growing software company running the most-loved cloud accounting software currently being used by more than 10k SMEs in the country.

We are looking for the right candidate to support our sales efforts by handling inbound sales calls, responding to email inquiries, and conducting online Zoom product tours. This role requires both technical expertise and strong communication skills. As a Sales Engineer, you will bridge the gap between product knowledge and customer needs, ensuring that potential clients fully understand the value Bukku brings to their businesses.

Responsibilities

  1. Respond to inbound sales inquiries via calls, emails, and live chat.
  2. Conduct online Zoom sessions to provide potential clients with product walkthroughs and answer their questions.
  3. Gain a strong understanding of Bukku’s features and functionalities to effectively present solutions to customers.
  4. Work closely with the sales and product teams to refine sales pitches and ensure an exceptional customer experience.
  5. Identify customer pain points and demonstrate how Bukku addresses their challenges.
  6. Keep track of customer feedback and provide insights to the product team for future improvements.
  7. Support sales conversion efforts by following up with leads and nurturing potential clients.
  8. Occasionally participate in outbound efforts to reach new markets and engage with strategic clients.
Job Requirements
  1. Accounting knowledge is a must (Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance, or professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).
  2. Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, sales, pre-sales, or customer success roles related to accounting or finance software.
  3. Prior experience with cloud accounting software is a strong advantage.
  4. Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly grasp software applications and digital tools.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, Malay and Chinese languages.
  6. Excellent presentation and demo skills, with confidence in handling live customer interactions.
  7. Logical thinking and problem-solving ability to address customer pain points effectively.
  8. A proactive and self-driven attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  1. Provide exceptional support to our customers through live chat and email, occasionally with outbound calls.

  4. Maintain good relationships with our customers and ensure their business success by using our products.

Job Requirements

The Role

We are looking for a mid-level to early senior level engineer to join our Finance, Accounting & Treasury division. You’ll help us scale-up and build our systems to optimize business efficiency. A successful candidate will have 3-5 years of relevant experience in Software development, experience working in Fintech would be an added advantage.

What will you be doing?

  • Build new FX capabilities to EMQ's global payments network
  • Streamline and modernize the financial operation that supports our global fund flow
  • Collaborate with SE, SRE, PM and SME to build solutions that solve day-to-day problems and enhance operational efficiency for the Finance, Accounting & Treasury function

Skills Expected:

Core Requirements:

  • B.S or M.S degree in computer science or related field
  • Experience in backend software development, preferably high throughput, transactional systems
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming language (preferably Python)
  • Working experience in web development frameworks (preferably Flask/FastAPI)
  • API Development and 3rd party integration experience
  • Working knowledge of RDBMS (preferably Postgresql)
  • Understanding of data structure and algorithm
  • Familiar with SDLC and understands clean code

Additional Requirements:

  • Experience in Erlang or functional programming languages, a strong plus
  • Experience in refactoring or decoupling a monolithic application
  • Frontend experience (preferably React)
  • Working experience on AWS (Lambda, Cloudformation, EKS)
  • Working experience of Linux, shell scripting, Docker and Git

Work you’ll do

  • Preparing monthly accruals, prepayment and other manual journal entries and reconciling accounts monthly.
  • Prepare, input, and maintain an accurate record of day-to-day and monthly journals in the accounting system for several clients according to the timeline.
  • Assist team in the full spectrum of company accounts, such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliation.
  • Account receivable: prepare commercial invoices, maintain accounts receivable, etc.
  • Account payable: renaming the invoice, summarizing invoices for payments, maintaining Account Payable).
  • Prepare financial statements and management accounts: monthly and quarterly financial statements and other financial reports (i.e. balance sheet reconciliation, etc.).
  • Input inventory transactions in the inventory system.
  • Other tasks related to accounting matters (if any).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Accounting, Finance or similar professional qualification.
  • 1 to 2 years or more experience in a similar accounting related role.
  • Has experience in ERP systems in the past – Xero/ MS Navision / SAP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Self-starter, organized, attention to detail, deadline oriented, hands-on.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on several projects.
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal pressures.
  • MS Office experience required including extensive Excel knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Work you’ll do

Work you’ll do
You will be part of the team with an integral transactional and reporting function in Deloitte’s Business Process Solutions (“BPS”). This role touches all aspects of accounting from Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory recording, Cash Management, Fixed assets, Monthly Account Reconciliations, Credit Analysis, Payroll and other special projects as needed.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Obtain and file accounting related documents on a timely manner and highlight any improvements to the data collection process as necessary
  • Key in data in the accounting system and maintain the general ledger accounts for clients
  • Preparing monthly accruals, prepayment and other manual journal entries and reconciling accounts monthly
  • Accounts receivable – assisting with daily/weekly/monthly invoicing
  • Payment processing and monitoring payables
  • Be Seconded to client offices to assist in assisting the accounting process, when necessary
  • Compile and provide financial or transactional information or data as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a comparable professional qualification with 2 years or more experience in a similar accounting related role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment on several projects.
  • Some experience with ERP systems in the past – Xero/ MS Navision / SAP is a plus.
  • Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal pressures.
  • Knowledge of finance, accounting and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • MS Office experience required including extensive Excel knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
