Job Description
Assist the Payroll Manager in transitioning payroll activities from various countries, including but not limited to Japan and South Korea. Responsibilities include collecting documentation, HR policies, calendars, and FAQs.
Work closely with the current Payroll SME in each country to ensure a smooth transition through shadowing, parallel runs, and hyper care.
Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations and corporate policies during and after the migration process.
Identify and implement process improvements by streamlining workflows and removing redundancies.
Manage the day-to-day payroll operations, including implementing operational changes, addressing audit recommendations, and refining internal controls to ensure payroll services meet the SLA requirements for assigned countries.
Provide support for employee queries related to payroll topics.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the People Services Team and collaborate with HR Centers of Excellence.
Ensure all services comply with corporate policies, procedures, and applicable local or federal regulations.
Manage escalations, resolve complex cases, and maintain strong customer relationships as needed.
Requirement
Over 5 years’ experience in Payroll Services operations, including multi-state or multi-entity payroll and experience with international payroll processing.
Experience of working with an outsourced and in-house Payroll Services Delivery model is preferable.
Strong communication skills with meticulous attention to detail and a customer-service mindset.
Deep understanding of HR best practices, compliance, and process improvement methodologies.
Proficient with HR payroll systems such SAP and experienced in using HR ticketing tools like ServiceNow.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and act accordingly.

The APAC Payroll Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end processing of payrolls, ensuring timely and accurate payrolls in line with country legislation and company policy. You'll be responsible for maintaining precise payroll records, reconciling reports, submitting statutory declarations, and supporting compliance and internal audits.

The essential requirements of the job include:
+ 6 yrs Experience in APAC Payroll processing with regulatory expertise.
+ Experience in end-to-end payroll processing, policy reviews, including analyzing processes and controls, planning improvements, leading changes, payroll migration and managing priorities.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; excellent command of English read/write/speak; good command of Mandarin read/write/speak
+ Result oriented, high on initiative with a need to deliver on time; willing to learn and assist others

**The Position**
The Payroll, Time and Benefits team focuses on payroll administration, ensuring payroll result accuracy and timeliness and audit risk free. The incumbent should be familiar with statutory regulations, income tax, and any relevant implications resulting from international employee transfers, severance schemes and new payroll policies.
Involved in the full cycle of payroll processing such as undertaking payroll calculation, performing payroll reconciliation, preparing payroll accounting, general ledger and reports, etc. Other responsibilities include monitoring the processing checklist and calendars, maintaining precise documentation, providing data / report for respective statutory filing within the stipulated deadlines.

+ Ensure that all union negotiations (if any) associated with PTB activities should be handled properly and in a timely manner

+ Deep Knowledge of local tax and social insurance
+ Excellent attention to detail, analytical ability and advanced Excel skills (pivot table, v-lookup, etc.)
