Role Description

As an Accounting Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial operations of Streamline Studios. Your responsibilities will include assisting with day-to-day accounting tasks, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards. The role is ideal for individuals eager to grow in the field of finance while contributing to a fast-paced and creative environment.

Note: For this position, we require on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements and company expenses.
  • Collaborate with the team to prepare budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and Streamline’s internal controls.
  • Support audits and coordinate with external auditors when needed.
  • Maintain and update financial records, ensuring accuracy and security.
  • Contribute to process improvements to enhance efficiency within the department.

Performance Metrics

Accounting Associates will be evaluated based on the following metrics:

  1. Quality of Task Delivery : Tasks meet team expectations on the first attempt, with no further follow-ups required to complete missing details.
  2. Response Time : Team queries and requests are responded to within the defined SLAs.
  3. Accuracy of Information : Information provided is accurate and correct on the first submission.
  4. Task Completion : Task requirements are consistently achieved on the first submission
  5. Efficiency in Delivery : Outcomes are delivered within the expected man-days.

Job Skills

Accounting Associates will possess the following competencies:

  • Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables)
  • Understanding of Accounting Principles (GAAP/IFRS)
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Data Entry and Bookkeeping
  • General Ledger Reconciliation
  • Reconciliation of Financial Records
  • Budgeting and Forecasting
  • Financial Reporting (including profit and loss, balance sheets, and cash flow statements)
  • Knowledge of Financial Ratios

General Accounting and Month-End Closing:


  • Perform general accounting entries including accruals and prepayment, reconciliations, period closing, and/or master data creation in the SAP system.
  • Perform bank reconciliations including posting a bank statement into SAP, cash position analysis, and cash sweeping journals.
  • Perform inter-company reconciliations, balance sheet aging analysis, and clearing.
  • Perform month-end closing tasks to ensure closing is completed per month-end schedule.
  • Prepare month-end financial reports and submit them timely and accurately according to the month-end schedule.
  • Process fixed asset-related transactions in SAP e.g., acquisition, capitalization, scrapping, and sales.
  • Comply with all client-published policies and procedures and any legal and regulatory requirements that the company is obliged to adhere to.
  • Graduated with a bachelor’s degree, or professional certificate relevant to Finance & Accounting.
  • Strong time management, good communication skills, detail-oriented, and a team player who can work with others to reach objectives and goals.
  • High accuracy in processing, reliable, proactive, has a sense of urgency to resolve urgent matters, and able to work under time pressure.
  • Able to write, read and communicate in Mandarin (for China Support) or Bahasa Malaysia (for Indonesia support).
  • Knowledge of the SAP accounting system will be an added advantage.
  • Willing to work on weekends/public holidays especially in the period of month/quarter/year-end closing to support clients based in China or/and Indonesia.

Key Responsibilities Perform general accounting and reporting tasks accurately and promptly, including processing journal entries, calculating accruals, and posting allocations. Assist in month-end closing by ensuring all relevant information is entered into the system. Ensure proper reconciliation of reports and accounts. Handle daily Accounts Payable activities such as invoice processing, matching to purchase orders and statements, confirming authorizations, checking VAT calculations, creating payment proposals, and correcting incorrect postings. Manage Accounts Receivable activities such as issuing invoices and allocating incoming payments. Reconcile Accounts Payables and Receivables with the general ledger. Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders via workflow tools and email to resolve issues. Manage the general email inboxes, responding to inquiries from customers and vendors promptly, supporting follow-ups, and escalating issues as needed. Comply with accounting standards, policies, and procedures. Continuously seek process improvements and share best practices across teams. Contribute to team metrics by achieving productivity and accuracy goals daily. Support the team lead in achieving performance objectives. Assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements with notes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and legislative requirements. Key Requirements University degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred. Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a significant advantage. 1-3 years of experience in an international or English-speaking environment, in areas such as GL accounting or Record-to-Report. Experience in multi-country, multi-legal entity environments is advantageous. Experience in BPO/SSC/Centralized delivery models is advantageous. Practical knowledge of accounting standards, GAAPs, IFRS is beneficial. Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/F&A systems like Microsoft Dynamics or OneSource is a plus. Strong English language skills (written and spoken). Proactive and engaged attitude. Curiosity and willingness to learn a range of activities from bookkeeping to corporate reporting. Ability to adapt to changing environments and respond positively to challenges. Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Continuous improvement mindset, process-oriented, and solution-focused work approach. Service-oriented attitude with effective communication skills to explain procedures and solutions to partners.     • Review and be responsible for the accuracy of the accounting reports and deliverables prepared by Specialists.
    • Supervise a team of junior staff and overseeing their efficiency, work quality on deliverables and supporting the Team Lead in job planning.
    • Review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, monitor unusual items and movement, and investigate reconciling items.
    • Ensure queries are resolved with business units and action points are followed through.
    • Review manual journal entries at month end and ensure that the supporting documentation for each manual journal entry is complete, adequate, and accurate.
    • Focus on key/risk accounts including balance sheet reclassification adjustments.
    • Perform and review monthly income tax calculation if required.
    • Handle ad hoc activities as assigned.

    Key requirements:

    • Assistant: Fresh graduate in accounting fields/ACCA/CAT/MICPA/MIA
    • Senior Assistant/Associate: 1-3 year working experience in accounting or financial audit with Accounting degree/ ACCA/CAT/MICPA/MIA
    • Senior Associate: 3+ year experience in accounting or financial audit with Accounting degree/ACCA/MICPA/MIA and reviewing experience.
    • Basic Microsoft Office skill is essential.
