**POSITION SUMMARY:**
This position is responsible for the Cost Accounting & Inventory of our Malaysia operations and report into the plant controller in Malaysia.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
1. Support plant operation which requires a good understanding of the nature of the business and products to execute daily activities effectively
2. Responsible for prompt and accurate recording of financial activities & month-end close process consistent with corporate policies, GAAP and local statutory requirements
3. Responsible for procedures and policies for cost accounting and inventory.
4. Support inventory control such as cycle count and annual physical inventory count:
+ Partnering with operations, product groups, planning, Inventory team and logistics on inventory management, planning, procurement, and cost optimization.
+ Responsible for prompt and accurate recording of inventory related activities such as E&O analysis, scrap analysis, write-off, inventory revaluation, month-end close process. to be consistent with corporate policies, GAAP and local statutory requirements.
1. Participating in daily MRB Inventory Review and Reporting
2. Prepare and record GL journal entries.
3. Accounts reconciliation and analysis.
4. Liaise with auditors & tax agent and support on scrap and inventory write-off queries
5. Support on Global Output/Inventory related reporting and analysis.
6. Support all financial initiatives to drive growth and compliance from time to time.
7. Timely monthly financial reporting and KPI indicators to support Operations

+ Assist the Finance Lead in monitoring AR aging
Accounts Payables
+ Overseeing vendor invoice processing, accountable for the timely coordination among the parties involved in submitting vendor invoices
+ Support in queries such as expected payment date, payment details, bounced payment resolution
Data Management, Policies & Procedures and Audit
+ Possess an understanding of all policy and procedure requirements applicable to the work you are accountable for, with consistent application throughout the year
+ Ensure no major findings and no non-mitigated findings for SOX & SOC1 controls
+ Ensure all samples requested by external auditors are delivered on time and with complete and accurate information
+ Ensure no major findings during internal reviews performed by Compliance Team or the Management
**What You'll need:**
+ Experience in Finance/Accounting with min. 2-3 years of accounting experience.
+ Sound technical expertise in internal management reporting, variance analysis and month end accounting.
+ Strong communication and presentation skills for managing various stakeholders across Asia Pacific.
+ Strong Excel skills and experience in other in a variety of accounting software.
+ Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Be able to impact and influence colleagues and client.
+ Demonstrable ability to work with and influence finance and non-finance colleagues.
+ Ability to remain focused in a rapidly changing environment when stakeholders have competing goals.
+ Ability to multitask and work to key deadlines.
+ Flexibility of working hours especially during month-end close.
+ Good Excel data manipulation skills and working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
+ Good working knowledge of Coupa and iScala is advantageous.

**How will you make an impact in this role?**
Responsible for contacting clients with overdue accounts to secure the settlement of the account. Also they do preventive work to avoid future overdues with accounts that have a high exposure.
+ Responsible for servicing clients with merchant accounts to secure the settlement of the account.
+ This potentially covers the setup, maintenance, linkage and payments of merchant accounts.
+ Assist Merchants with completing servicing requests
+ Collaborate with multiple Merchant and Payment teams to tailor servicing strategies that meet Merchant needs
+ Resolve complex/escalated service requests with precision and urgency
+ Proactively identify procedural/operational opportunities and implement solutions that lead to improved Merchant journeys and satisfaction
+ Assist Merchants with their operational needs by offering a variety of American Express payment products/services
+ Lead and/or participate in special projects required to support Merchant's key business objectives
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ An ability to analyze data effectively and implement changes to reduce demand.
+ Additional languages such as Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be an advantage.
+ Strong knowledge and belief in growth mindset, highly accountable and intrinsically motivated.
+ Must understand Customer First ethos and the American Express brand and products.
+ Solid understanding of Merchant Servicing highly desired.
+ Excellent problem solving, time management and organizational skills.
+ Excellent communication skills as well as proven verbal & written communication skills.
+ Must have a high degree of attention to details with very good sense of ownership and good decision making skills.
