Responsibilities
- Perform clinical placement teaching at any hospital as assigned by School
- Perform clinical guidance at hospital for all clinical posting module based on the programme syllabus
- Monitor students’ attendance and performance
- Monitor students’ progress and guide them during their clinical postings
- Mark students’ reports, presentations, assignments and rate student’s performance in clinical postings
- Involve in preparation of teaching materials especially for clinical module
- Any other tasks as assigned by the University from time to time
- Candidate must possess Diploma in Nursing or a bachelor’s degree.
- Valid practicing Annual Practice Certificate from the Malaysian Nursing Board.
- Possession of Post-Basic Certification is an added advantage.
- Necessary to have at least 5 years of experience in clinical areas.
- Community experience or post-basic specialty in Obstetrics Nursing and Paediatric Nursing, Community Health Nursing or Gerontology and Medical Surgical Nursing is an added advantage.
- Possess own transport and able to travel to clinics.

Job OverviewThe Clinical Nursing Instructor plays a pivotal role in guiding and mentoring nursing students through their clinical practice. Responsibilities include supervising and teaching students on patient care, nursing procedures, and infection control measures to ensure competency and adherence to best practices. The instructor will conduct bedside teaching, facilitate learning in skills labs and mock wards, and oversee students’ progress in clinical settings, including managing clinical assessments and logbook completion.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise students in the planning and implementation of patient care according to disciplines.
- Supervise students in the importance of effective patient care and cost-effective measures through the reduction of infection in patient care.
- Teach students on nursing procedures according to various disciplines throughout their clinical practice to ensure they learn the expected competencies.
- Conduct bedside teaching in wards based on the learning outcomes.
- Prepare the orientation pack for all new students and serve as a preceptor in orientation programs.
- Assist academic staff in preparing and teaching nursing skills in the mock ward and during OSCE.
- Assist and supervise students during their practice of nursing procedures in the skills lab and mock ward.
- Conduct clinical assessments to achieve the objectives of clinical postings.
- Ensure that students complete their nursing procedures in the logbook before proceeding to the next semester.
- Provide assistance and supervision to students throughout their clinical practice.
- Prepare clinical rosters for students due for clinical postings.
- Assist in teaching and entering clinical marks into the information management system.
- Support lecturers in teaching skills procedures in the skills lab and mock ward.
- Participate in activities organized by the faculty such as meetings, open days, and orientation weeks, and perform any tasks assigned by the dean as required.
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree or diploma in nursing with a minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience; having a post-basic qualification is an added advantage.
- Valid Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) is required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Able to work effectively and efficiently as a team member as well as independently.
- Effective communication and collaboration with management and other staff.
- Possess own transport to commute to students’ clinical areas.
