Job Scope / Responsible:

1. Instill a high standard of friendly, professional customer service.

As our Hotel Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our hotel, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and driving the overall success of the business. This is a full-time position.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee and manage all hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance
• Develop and implement effective strategies to improve guest satisfaction, operational efficiency, and financial performance
• Manage and lead a team of hotel staff, providing coaching, training, and performance management
• Monitor and analyse hotel performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions to optimise operations
• Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and company policies

Job Scope and Key Responsibilities:

1. Managing raw seaweed procurement in Semporna (including farmers onboarding, price negotiations, and seaweed quality checks).
2. Arranging the transportation of purchased seaweed from the ocean to the Semporna warehouse and ensuring smooth land transportation to customers.
3. Overseeing the drying and packing of seaweed, including sun drying processes, to maintain quality and efficiency.
4. Managing labourers for seaweed drying, packing, and warehouse operations.
5. Loading shipping containers and coordinating with shipping companies to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
6. Maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the Semporna warehouse, ensuring proper storage of seaweed and other goods while upholding HACCP standards.
7. Managing and ensuring compliance with local licenses, permits, and certifications required for shipments, facilities, and business operations.
8. Overseeing the safety and maintenance of company assets (boat & car).
9. Team Leadership and Supervision - Effectively oversee and guide a team, including boatmen and helpers, to ensure clarity and alignment with their respective roles and responsibilities.
10. Overseeing daily operations for efficiency, continuously assessing processes for improvement, and establishing SOPs for streamlined execution.
11. Enforcing safety protocols and regulations to create a safe work environment.
12. Identifying operational challenges, pinpointing bottlenecks, and formulating effective solutions.
13. Facilitating cross-departmental collaboration to optimize operations, and maintaining regular, professional communication with management and other team members, providing updates on operational performance and challenges.
14. Managing budgets by aiding in planning and controlling operational costs, proactively monitoring expenditures, and identifying cost-reduction opportunities while maintaining quality standards.
15. Providing training and development opportunities for team members to elevate their skills and knowledge. Cultivating a culture of ongoing improvement and learning.
16. Ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations and standards, staying updated on relevant industry trends and changes in regulations related to operations.

Job Requirements:

1. Minimum Diploma in Business Administration, Management, Operations Management, or a related field, OR at least five (5) years of managerial experience.
2. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Melayu (both spoken and written).
3. Fluency in additional languages, including local dialects, is an added advantage.
4. Strong skills and knowledge in leadership, analysis, communication, problem-solving, and technical expertise.
5. Background in aquaculture farming or plantation is an added advantage.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, flexibility of 8 hours per day, off on Saturday, Sunday, and Public Holidays.
