Job Overview
A Counselor is required in university to provide support and guidance to students in the education setting. Other than that the counselor must able to help students to solve problems. It involves addressing personal and relationship issues, dealing with inner conflicts, crisis moments such as depression and addiction, n an attempt to empower individuals to achieve change and improve their life quality. The counselor must able to motivate the students to improve academically.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct counseling session for students (Main campus & branch)
- Disseminate information to student & alumni regarding career via google drive/alumni facebook/alumni telegram
- Responsible as Student Representative Council advisor
- Responsible all student activities except sports and islamic activities
- Responsible to lead student clubs except sports
- Take incharge in orientation for new students for medical assistance (physical and emotional problem) in campus
- Responsible for checking student complaints and suggestions in google form/ suggestion box and prepare report
- Monitor peer support activities and reports
- Responsible for taking minutes of meeting and prepare the report
- Prepare and compile monthly activity reports
- Responsible in handling SELS social media (instagram, facebook, telegram) Ensure student handbook up to date and liaise with all department for the updates.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Counselling. License in Counselling by Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia
- At least 1 to 2 years’ experience in counselling services
- Knowledge and understanding of counselling principles, methods and techniques
- Ability to listen attentively and comprehend with empathy and understanding, without prejudice or judgement.
- Good written and spoken communication skills, especially able to inform and advise others clearly.
- Good initiative and hardworking
- People-centered and friendly.

The Opportunity
The Administrative Executive-Student Support is required to provide support and guidance to students and well versed with the updated ISP requirement to manage and maintain the general operation and engage in routine scopes at the Clinical School Johor Bahru, Monash University Malaysia.
This position is based at Clinical School Johor Bahru (CSJB)
Reporting Line: The position reports to Clinical School Manager under general direction (HEW Levels 5-6)
We are looking for a candidate with a relevant education and working experience who is able to provide appropriate support to students and ability to administer incident management with less supervision.

Key Responsibilities
Student Support and Risk Assessment
- To provide the appropriate support including physical, emotional, and physiological to students who need assistance.
- To administer the management of data and updates on Incident Report System
- Work closely with academic/professional staff and key internal/external stakeholders in an efficient manner
- Reach out to students on a regular basis on their well-being, practical/social activities and resources sharing.
- Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of activities and programs, in collaboration with the Schools, student bodies and other units to enhance the international student experience.
- Review, update and manage website and social media contents on a regular basis to ensure relevance and accuracy, and to provide feedback and recommend improvements.
- Passport/Student Pass Renewal & related matters
- To support basic language requests.
- Provide support in event planning and collaboration with student bodies activities or campus events to increase level of engagement among staff and students
- Leadership and engagement in Student Experience including academic, intellectual, social and professional.
- Alumni engagement
- Support in all campus activities/events as an when required.
- Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of activities and programs, in collaboration with the Schools, student bodies
- Other duties as and when assigned from time to time by the Clinical School Manager and Head of Clinical School Johor Bahru involving student affairs.
- A relevant diploma/degree or relevant experience in a related field.
- Excellent organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time, problem solving and plan work to meet deadlines
- A strong commitment to excellence in customer service and a hands-on approach to service provision
- Highly-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and negotiate positive outcomes to complex issues
- Well-developed skills in the use of digital technology, including online platforms for collaboration and work management.
